Toyota to Unveil All-New, Second-Generation Highlander and Highlander Hybrid At 2007 Chicago Auto Show

01/19/2007

TORRANCE, Calif., January 19, 2007 - Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., will stage the world premiere of the all-new 2008 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid sport utility vehicles (SUVs) at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show.

The first-generation Highlander, Toyota's best-selling mid-size SUV, debuted during the 2001 model year. The Highlander Hybrid, Camry Hybrid and Prius give Toyota Division the only three-vehicle hybrid line-up in the industry.

The Toyota press conference will take place on Wednesday, February 7 at 9:15 A.M. CT in the Grand Ballroom in McCormick Place, with a live simulcast to the Toyota display area at the show. A video clip of the press conference will be available for viewing following the event on the Toyota.com website.

Sorry no link.

It should be interesting to see whether this or the Lambdas are better. The current Highlander is a competent vehicle but is very, very dated.

I hate the current one and I will the next (prolly). If it is as ugly as the new Rav-4 then I will for sure. What is the point anymore the Rav-4 is bigger and has a V6 which were Highlander selling points... I do plan on going and will not waste my time on this $h!y thing. I plan to spend most of my time at GM then DCX and Ford...

Wouldn't you like to drive a Warrior Princess, reg? :AH-HA_wink:

I'm wondering about this one too. Essentially, the 3 row Rav4 has taken the place of the 3 row Highlander (both are equally squashed inside), so the Highlander definitely should be getting bigger.

The 3.5 V6 is a given, along with a Hybrid model again, but the size and style are the two biggest questions, especially since no one seems to have seen any mules out anywhere.
