Some Great Pics From Past Pontiacs

Look at all that distinctiveness (except for a few of the Canadian cars). Thanks for reminding us, Custom-S, of Pontiac's intrinsic style... lacking in the newest... G8.

I wish they would style a Pontiac that stands out as much as the 64 models. We had a 64 Catalina sport coupe and its huge 2 slot grill and coke bottle shape let people know it was a Pontiac from miles away.

I would hands-down pick a '57 over a '58, but I love the '58s too. My grandfather (2-tone green Star Chief 4-dr hardtop) & my father-in-law (white over coral Chieftan 2-dr hardtop) both owned '57s, tho unforunately neither saved theirs for me.

But I agree with Brougham-Holiday, which is why I've owned (3) 64s, (3) 65s and a 66 Pontiac. '64 is my favorite of them all.

Boy was that fun! I liked a lot of 30's Pontiacs too.

I looked over several other makes too (Studebaker, etc.). Some of what they referred to a business coupes are quite nice. I wonder if something like that would make a go of it today. It's funny how station wagons through the years never really did compare. Now it's about as good as it gets.

The 1961 Pontiac will always be my favorite.

Pure Pontiac. Pure General Motors. Pure American.

Now this is a two door, pillarless hardtop.

Beautiful.

Brian, I admire your intellect and taste in cars but I would have to disagree. Given the choice I think the 62 Grand Prix is sexier.

However, I would gladly take either car...that 58 in two tone green looked fabulous.
