Not the way it should have gone....

I'm a bit sad, and a bit upset too.

I sold the Wagon about a month back, to what I though was a nice Vet (he was very thankful) for him to get around. I saw the car around town for a few days, and all seemed well.

That was-until today.

I get a letter in the mail- A notice of Abandoned Vehicle.

It's been in there about a week-and want me to pay big bucks to get it (almost 500 bucks) out.

This is not the way I wanted to see the Cav go. You figure it will go to it's new owner, and you won't have to see it again (and hope that it was well cared for).

I have to go tomorrow to get this sorted out. Since I no longer have the title-it looks like it is going to get scrapped in a few days. :(

I would be looking at over a grand to try to get it back....it's simply not worth it.......

A pic a few day before the sale....poor wagon. And it still drove well...... :banghead:

Update:

Due to new state law-They want ME to pay it...and right now.

It sounds like they could do a few things if they want too... :(

More as I find out.....

Wierd...why would you be responsible? Did the buyer not register it in his name?

It's important to do more than just sign over the ownership to someone else. You have to go with them to the registrar's office and watch them retitle the vehicle. You could be responsible for their accidents, tickets, almost anything.

Up until the recent law change, it would not had been a big deal.

It's turning into a big scam here....so they changed it. Now they found a new way to scam..... :banghead:

It anything that happens would be my fault.

The only good thing is that now the wagon is at an impound yard...it's not going anywhere.

Though I have to give some credit...he is trying to get it out....
