Early 80's Corvette Question

Featured Replies

I've been eying this 81 'Vette for a couple months, and he's lowered the price a couple times, without any bites.

The descriptions suck, and are off-putting, but I may give them a call to see it. I've looked at a couple C3 places to see what the story on these vehicles are in terms of rust, corrosion issues and the like. However, I'm wondering if there are any words from the wise here about anything I should be looking at/concerned about, or any pointed questions I should ask him over the phone?

As I understand it, the windshield frame is very prone to rust.

As is the actual frame of the car...

Keep in mind this is the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, not much rusts out there. It's like Canada's Florida.

I have driven one a short while once and ridden in many of them. They are super fun cars to ride in and too drive. If you decide to get one you will love it.

Ummm....... no.

Up near 100 Mile House cars are in way better shape than the lower mainland.

Maybe compared to back east, but Vancouver has it's fair share of rust buckets.
