There are DRLs that aren't "permanently illuminated?"

Yea, some have a cancel function if they are not desired. I do not know if the SSR has that feature or not, but I have seen SSRs without illuminated DRLs.

By law vehicles that are regularly bought by the goverment have ot have DRL cutoff (over ride) so that when entering military bases and so on they can be driven wiht no lights on. That's what out GM rep. at Chevy of Lowell said about the cutoff in the Malibu and other Chevys.

The 2 yellow and one red SSR that I see driving around this area have had their amber parking lamps on when I've seen them, or that's what I remember off the top of my head.

Whatever. I won't really loose sleep over it either way. It does seem acording to the photos that they do not come wiht DRLs. If they did there would eb a shot of a SSRwith the amber parkign lights on but not the side markers.

Yes, you can cancel the DRLs on SSRs as well as the Silverado/Sierra twins. You push the dome light button four times in a row and they turn off. It comes in handy when you are working on the Silverado/Sierra with the key on and do not want to fry your testicles when you are leaning over the front of the truck.

Also who in there right mind would not only drive but race there $48,000 dollar sports truck on a dirt road/Grand Canyon.

I know a few people who have enough money to do that and say why not?

If I had the money I'd buy one of those new BM '69 Camaros for $427,000 and go race it in the Eurpopean Gumball Rally.

Dude, seriously can you imagine out cornering a Lamborghini Countach, out accelerating a Ferrari Enzo and out breaking a Porsche 911 Turbo. Then later that night while partying in some funky belgian nightclub tell all the Euro-yuppies in their cars that the car is actaully a '69 Camaro made of aftermarket scraps.

Of course it would be that much more sweet if it was a hand built and ratty looking GENUINE '69 with a 'Z06 Vette suspension and drivetrain... flat black with scummy looking lightweight 17" rims.

For even more jaw-dropping ego-shattering rubber-necking fun replace '69 Camaro with something even more unexpected... '94 Buick Roadmonster.... acid dipped, tube chassis & riding on C4 suspension powered by a twin-turbocharged LS7! That Caprice Classic of yours would be a great car to do this wiht too!
