Lucas Oil additive

Featured Replies

We do a lot of HVAC work, resteraunt repair work, and Electrical work for a chain of truck stops. I've noticed a lot of truckers love the Lucas stuff. Lots of them swear by it.

Anyone tried it? I'm trying it in the wife's car.

Chris

I've used their PS / leak stop - it worked well there.

Also used their fuel injector cleaner, but have not noticed it's done anything.

Have not tried any oil-related Lucas product as of yet.

Their fuel injection cleaner was unimpressive for me, as well. I tend to be happier with the STP cleaner... in higher quantities.

I don't use too many additives anymore, as I'm usually not real impressed.

I have an 'idle stumble' in my DuraMax- the Lucas has done nothing to eradicate it. However, it's difficult to find a diesel-compatable FI cleaner. I need to go to the 'diesel truck' message boards....

I actually plan to put some FI cleaner in the car soon, so I'll let you know if it makes a difference at all.

THANKS, DF!

It's mostly crap, Esp the oil add. :mind-blowing:

It must work for some people, but for most I know (including car people), won't waste the money on it.

I won't use it- I figure if I take care of it like I'm supposed to, I shouldn't have to add a thing.

As far as injection cleaners go, I'd rather just use a tank of 93 octane.......

I used to listen to America's Trucking Network on THE BIG ONE 700 WLW AM (America's station) Cincinnati, & the truckers swore by their fuel additive when they HAD to switch to the low sulfur diesel FWIW
