Hyundai News:2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Starts At $24,450*

Hyundai surprised all when they showed off two new Santa Fe models at the New York Auto Show this year - the SWB Santa Fe Sport and LWB Santa Fe. Now, Hyundai has announced pricing for the Santa Fe Sport.

The Santa Fe Sport starts at $24,450 (excludes a $825 destination charge) and that gets you a 2.4L DI four-cylinder producing 190 HP and front-wheel drive. A 2.0L turbo-four producing 264 HP starts at $27,700 (excludes a $825 destination charge). All wheel drive is a $1750 option.

As for the new Santa Fe, Hyundai will release pricing later on in the year.

      Hyundai rolled out a new concept called the HDC-2 Grandmaster at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea today. This concept previews a new design language that will be appearing on future Hyundai models. Not many pictures of the Grandmaster were provided, but we can pull some details such as an imposing front grille, a boxy shape with rounded corners, and what looks like a sizable glass area.
      “Today we showcased the HDC-2 concept vehicle as a blueprint for our evolved design strategy. Making a big step forward in terms of design with the Hyundai Look strategy, we will move towards becoming a brand that customers can really relate to emotionally. Moving on from being a brand that provides a great value, we will aspire to also become a brand that is widely beloved by our customers,” said Hyundai design chief SangYup Lee.
      The Grandmaster also provides a preview for upcoming full-size crossover that will sit above the new Santa Fe. Recent spy shots reveal that the production model will have a similar shape to the concept. This new model is expected launch in the next couple of years.

      Hyundai Motor America Reports May 2018 Sales
      Total Sales Up 10 Percent Highest SUV Sales Month in Company History with 28,777 Sold; SUVs Represent 44 Percent of Sales Elantra Sales Up 27 Percent Kona Sales of 5,079 as Inventory Reaches All Hyundai Dealers FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., June 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Motor America reported May sales of Hyundai- and Genesis-branded vehicles of 66,056 units, a 10 percent increase in comparison with May 2017. Hyundai's double digit increase was driven by its SUV family that again set several records.
      For the third month in a row, Hyundai reached its all-time SUV sales mark with sales up 41 percent over May of last year. Kona retailed more than 5,000 units as it solidly establishes itself in the segment with sales up 53 percent compared with April 2018. Tucson also had its best month ever with 12,991 total units, its 15th consecutive monthly record. Rounding out Hyundai's SUV family, Santa Fe sales were up 9 percent. In Hyundai's car lineup, Elantra had a strong month as sales increased 27 percent year over year, while Hyundai recently unveiled a new Sonata pricing strategy that delivers even more content and value throughout the various packages and trims.

      Genesis Motor America reported sales of 1,076 in May, a 39 percent decrease compared with the year prior.
      This past month, Genesis unveiled the Essentia Concept to critical reception at the Cannes Film Festival and Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, following its debut at the New York International Auto Show.       Before the new Corolla hatchback hits dealers later this summer, Toyota has revealed pricing and fuel economy numbers.
      The base SE will set you back $20,910 (includes a $920 destination charge), while the XSE begins at $23,910. That will net you a new 2.0L four-cylinder with 168 horsepower and a six-speed manual. A CVT is available for an additional $1,100.
      This is what you get on either trim:
      SE:  Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning; 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay compatibility, and 16-inch wheels. XSE: 18-inch wheels, LED fog lamps, upgraded infotainment system, leather-and-fabric upholstery, and heated front seats.  As for fuel economy, the SE with the CVT is the mileage leader with EPA estimates of 32 City/42 Highway/36 Combined. The XSE CVT is next with figures of 30/38/33. For the manual, Toyota only has figures for the SE which are 28/37/31. Numbers on the XSE manual are coming soon.
