  1. My folks had Dobermans, German Shepherds and Miniature Schnauzers when I was a kid. Grew up with dogs, but it wasn't until I moved to Az a decade ago and hanging out w my sister that I got into adoptions, volunteering w a local rescue and small terriers. I love terriers, esp Westies, Aussies and Yorkies. Small dogs with huge personalities. My public persona may be a bad azz MOFO software engineer, but I'm a big softie when it comes to terriers...

  2. My shop area in 2012. All are gone now: '65 (R) only left it's frame behind, got a guy coming to buy that within the next few weeks. Same guy bought the '64 (M) and another guy just spoke for all the parts for the '60 (L). I find multiple tiny dogs more frightening than quiet, non-pooping vintage iron.

  3. Totally understandable, as UK moves to go really green on power and environment, diesel is going to die. Hybrid / EV is the future.

  4. There sure as heck is if you include the Vettes. Then they could also possibly steal from some of the Mustang/Camaros that are in that price range as well. I don't see them really taking a lot of those sales but somebody will sit there and say, "what the heck am I spending 70k on a Ford/Chevy?" and then buy the AMG. Worse yet is the 50k Mustang GT and Camaro SS. They're great performance cars but they're also pretty steep for a GT and SS.

  5. Well, if the AMG GT is anything to judge by, something in this segment could be a very serious rival to the Porsche twins, the Corvette, and lower level F Types. The days of AMG's being dull German muscle cars that are highway missiles only is long gone. They now build very credible threats to the established sports car/sedan set. I say go for it. The GT is so awesome some of its goodness should be available to others at a lower price point.

  6. ^ lol..that would be terrifying...makes me think of Steven King. Speaking of dead cars, this house down the street from me has a Lincoln Mark VII LSC that I haven't seen move since I've lived here. They have an '85-86 Mustang in the garage also. The house to the left of them has a Honda S2000 in the garage, seen it out a few times.

  7. Damn Daimler; bundling the dually & continental spare options together- no wonder buyers didn't take and the option got dropped.

  8. Except EVs currently sell at a mere fraction of diesels. JLR had better be prepared to see far greater drop in sales in the near term.

  9. Easy, BOLT, LEAF, Tesla S, X, 3, etc. Considering that there is no gas version!

  10. $10K is nothing when the Escalade line is bringing in $1B in profit all by itself.

  11. Agree. If AMG does an entry level sports car I would expect a $55k base price like the 718/Cayman. That could use the forthcoming 2 liter turbo with rumored 330 hp as a base engine and the 430 hp inline six as the range topper at like $70k. This would be a 2 seat hardtop I imagine. An E-class buyer isn’t going buy a 2 seat sports car unless it is a second car, So really just the C43 and C63 sit in that price point and most of those are sedans and even the coupe has a back seat and isn’t a pure sports car. I think AMG would get the sales off top end Camaro/Mustang, POW end Corvette, Porsche 718, Nissan GT-R owners that got priced out with the increases, the 57 people that bought an Alfa 4C, etc. And let’s face it, most car companies are fleeing sports cars and coupes altogether, so AMG may not have a lot of competition left in 2022 if this car arrives then.

  12. Totally understandable that they would start with the XC40. Looking forward to seeing what all else they bring out. Hopefully all 5 EV's will make it in roll out in 2019. ? I wonder how sales will do with knowing a year from now you will have EV options. This could make 2018 a very ugly year for sales.

  13. Yeah it sounds like something they should have held off for 6 months to see if the Navigator really steals any sales anyway. People still love the Escalade... Even if it is currently the worse of the two complete packages it's still a great overall vehicle.

  14. $7500 to $10000 on the hood because your greatest competitor puts up a NEW vehicle that directly competes with yours? That sounds very pre-BK GM. Only NEW (and better product) can arrest and correct that issue.

  15. Train them to lift the seat, do their business and flush and I am all set to have dogs again. Grew up with 3 black labs and 1 chocolate lab and a mutt that was my sisters dog. Love the dogs over cats, but have decided I like my road trips and travel over dealing with dogs, cleanup and boarding. Cute babies, especially the one giving you a razzberry! ?

  17. Tough to say, but I think so! At least you still have grass, thinking mine might be under water at the rate it is raining here.....

  18. Uhh; NO. I also see no more association between the XT4 and whatevs Mitshubishi above, and just about any other of a dozen SUVs- there's just not a lot of great differentiation in profile here. Then again, I do understand what a 'rebadge' is.

  21. Everything in my subdivision is mid 60s vintage brick ranches and split levels....the Cleveland area definitely feels more northeast than midwest to me. She's actually only about 12lbs...but long....not sure what she is, I think maybe an Australian Terrier/Daushund mix...

  22. Rain rain rain and more rain here this weekend. Was 70s-80s Thurs and Friday. My backyard is partially flooded. Been watching the Indy Car race from Long Beach (a race I went to for years when I lived out West). Raine is hogging the couch.

  23. Mother Nature, you twisted bitch. Friday and yesterday were in the 80's, with beautiful sunshine. Today? 44 degrees, windy as heck and drizzling all day.

  24. No it will be the only GOOD year for XC40 sales, unless the gas engine continues... look around and name ONE electrified version of a car that sells better than the gas version.
