Cadillac just needs to be more interesting in general aside from the Escalade, everything else seems so unambitious, content to blend in, especially their interiors and CUVs. Forget about having a halo performance car at this point. I don't see the NSX doing anything great for Acura..3 points

I forgot to mention. Porsche is out of IMSA after 2020 due to money issues that Covid has brought to us all. https://www.autoblog.com/2020/06/04/porsche-911-rsr-quits-american-racing-after-2020/ If @smk4565 thinks that all is well in the automotive world for his dear Mercedes. He has a rude awaking heading his way. Say goodbye to the AMG-One project... Im targeting SMK and the AMG-One project because he seems to only target GM but when something similar happens to Mercedes, he doesnt return the favour... parts bin economics might be the ONLY thing to save automotive projects right about now... The AMG-One is all bespoke. Expensive stuff going into it...and with diesel scandals that Mercedes needs to pay and 1%ers NOT making the millions/billions projected for this year, the AMG-One is a project that is very not the right product in today's climate and will be scuttled if not already...BEFORE the Covid thing happened... And THAT is the thing... Through all kinds of difficult times that the American economy has gone through over the years and tough times GM has gone through over the years, with all the near cancellations of the Corvette program over the years, Corvette is STILL here and THRIVING and making money for Chevrolet for the greater part since 1953 and all the while, being cutting edge technology AND being a performance leader in the civilian market AND in the racing world... Like I ALWAYS say. You could shyte on GM all you want, there are one-two things that GM ALWAYS gets right, and the Corvette is one of them. You CANT and SHOUDNT shyte on Corvette.3 points

They are getting rid of the V8 in certain areas... Dont play stupid. Im afraid the SL will not even survive 2021 the way things are going let alone 2030. And yes, maybe with Covid generation economies, the C8 will eat into its market share.... Whether YOU like it or not, the C8 is that much of a game changer regardless if it is a Chevy or not... It a short little while, the 2021 Z06 will be available for owners to buy. OK...with this Covid era economy, the Z06 will be a 2022 model. The thing is, Chevrolet is going all out with the C8 Vette and the C8 vette itself is selling like hotcakes. With NEW market share that NEW consumers are buying into....regardless of a Chevy nameplate... And yes...4 cylinder outputs are out of this world. Its still prestigious to have a V8 under the hood. More so now than ever. Dont try to spin the failures of M-B in your favour... And...last bit NOT least AMG does NOT have lots of sized of vehicles. Mercedes has that. But if the economy goes even MORE south, AMG will NOT have ANY buyers as even the stinkin' rich will cut back with unnecessary purchases. And even THEY will be looking for bargains. EVERYBODY LOVES bargains. And like I said above, the C8 Corvette WILL quest their thirst for something new and shiny, that goes crazy fast and has "that look" that cars in this league demand...2 points

A Corvette is the COMPLETE opposite of what Cadillac, high end M-B, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Bentley, Rolls Royce etc is all about. All those high end, posh brands I mentioned all cater to the folk that want the finer things in life. That could afford the finer things in life. That want something unique and rare and that almost nobody else has got. All those high end brands in turn try to engineer and produce the best of the best to attract the very few that can afford those brand's products. The ONLY thing the Corvette has in common with that is, that the Corvette offers best of the best performance. And at a price. Low price. The high end stuff also comes at a price. High price. I repeat. The high end stuff is sold at high end prices. The Corvette is engineered to a price point. A price point well BENEATH of those high end stuff and sold well beneath those high end prices. Those high end products are also limited in numbers. Mostly produced by hand and perosnalized to every inch of the finer details. The Corvette is mass produced. Machines and robots for the most part produce it. Many IMPERFECTIONS exist on the Covette as where the other high end products, imperfections are hard to come by... because the owners of those cars PAY a PREMIUM and EXPECT perfection. Corvette's target market really dont care about any squeaks and rattles and if the steering wheel is the exact same one as a Chevy Malibu. (C6) Actually, they wear THAT as a badge of honour as MOST Corvette owners are proud that the Corvette is a CHEVROLET. And want to point the middle finger to the folks that drive high priced sports cars... The high end stuff is usually bespoke to that particualr model. The Corvette, BECAUSE its a CHEVROLET has parts bin economies built into it, so that the PRICE is low low low as low as can be because the performance technology is really best of the best... The high end stuff is really made for the those 1%ers. Those white gloved, snooty, entitled and cuddled folk that look down upon the working guy but NEED the working guy to maintain their riches... The Corvette is made for the blue collar guy. The very guy that works for that white gloved, snooty, entitled and cuddled folk that look down upon the working guy but NEED the working guy to maintain his riches... Or for the self made man that made his money getting his hands dirty. Because since the 1980s, new money has come to be, those lines are blurred between high end stuff and Corvettes with Ferraris and Lambos producing and selling lower priced cars, but higher, way higher than Corvette to cater to the guy that made millions on 4-5 restaurants he bought and managed with family and friends or in the .com era where those guys in the beginning were mere millionnaires and over time got to be billionnaires and now could buy that million dollar plus limited run Ferrari. Yeah...kinda like the AMG-ONE. The Corvette is a performance car that gives a middle finger to those types of cars and owners... Yes...THAT is why a Corvette was, is and will continue to BE a Chevrolet. Cadillac does not NEED a sports car to peddle to the new money folk or the old money folk. What Cadillac needs is a vehicle, that caters to the arrogance of those types of owners... And THAT could mean many things... And THAT is the beauty of Cadillac. Cadillac's image was and still is of brash, arrogantly loud styled vehicles. And THAT could be anything... And THAT is why Corvette is Corvette Chevrolet is Chevrolet Cadillac is Cadillac and Corvette shall always be a Chevrolet.2 points

AMG is JUST a tuner devision... In fact, AMG wasnt even RELATED to Mercedes Benz at one time. M-B bought out the company. AMG was just a slightly more than a tuner shop hot rodding not only Mercedes cars, but BMWs too... AMG now, is just the performance arm of Mercedes taking EXISTING Mercedes vehicles and adding more performance to them . AMG does NOT build its own vehicles. Only rare occasions they do. Like the AMG-One. But the AMG-One is just a 275 limited production run. Chevrolet is a full blown, complete line of production vehicles ranging from civilian use to police force to comercial line to racing cars and engines. Cadillac is also a full blown, complete line of production vehicles. Both Chevrolet and Cadillac are mass produced vehicles under a LARGER owned corporation called General Motors. NOT THE SAME THING as the relationship that Mercedes has with AMG... If "SS" was a tuner hot rodding shop, that produced hotter versions of Malibus, Chevelles, Impalas, Camaros, Cruzes, Trailblazers, etc and Chevrolet would have bought them and "SS" would continue to build better performing Chevroler vehicles UNDER the Chevrolet brand and NOT General Motors...THAN we'd have an apples to apple comparison. The closest we ever got to a Mercedes and AMG relationship with GM is with a tuner shop called SLP that did better performing G3 Firebirds, than G4 Firebirds/Trans Ams, then G4 Camaros with the Trans Ams that were bought straight from the dealerships and were sold as Trans Am WS6 and Camaro SS and then Grand Prixs and G8s... But GM NEVER bought SLP...2 points

Not any more... Didnt I hear that AMG S Class coupe and conertible will nix V8s for TTV6s? And FYI The XLR was on a updated C5 chassis that was closer to the C6. But only YOU will find that as a negative. The C5 platform is STILL competitive performance wise in 2020 with TODAY's sports cars when HP is upgraded with suspension and brake tune-ups to match the HP... Being on a PURE C5 platform (which it wasnt anyway, was NOT a negative) It REALLY was on a updated C5, not quite full blown C6 platform. If you knew...the C5, C6 AND C7 are really really closely related to each other anyway...2 points

Montreal's Metro and Toronto's TTC feel fairly safe, to me. At odd hours, the crowd gets odder. The thing at Athens is that it's younger gangs of pickpockets (gypsy, Roma, and Albanian are among the ethnic groups mentioned) who have it worked down to a science. The train routes they work the most are Monastiraki in the center to Athens Airport and the route that goes out to Piraeus, the port for the cruise ships. If you're fairly big and have your stuff embedded way down in your belongings, you'll be more of a challenge. The wallets in the back pockets or phone in a pant pocket are the easiest things for them to pick off. When I ride a subway in an area I'm not familiar with or have heard unfavorable things about, I stay in the first car behind the conductor and usually scan who's around me. They also take advantage of when people are moving from the station platform into the car and vice-versa and might be confused. The articles say that the police in Athens have not been proactive enough, such as by patrolling the stations and riding on the subway cars. The police there could easily figure out who these gangs are. There was once a sting and they arrested about 50 people. Like I said, I really liked the Athens Metro, but I was there the year before it was extended into the new airport. Madrid's Metro - which goes into both of its airport terminals - is great and tourists seem very relaxed taking it to and from the airport. But, when it's crowded around the center of the city, it has had its theft incidents, too. You always have to be on the defensive when riding on public transit.2 points

For the past decade, Acura has felt lost at sea. Not sure of what it wanted to be as a brand. This was shown by mixed messaging in their lineup as they weren’t sure to focus on luxury, technology, or sport. This muddled mess of identities would cause a fair amount of issues. But in the past couple of years, Acura started to get its act together thanks in part to new leadership. The first fruits of their efforts came last year in the form of the third-generation RDX. It has been over two years since I last drove an Acura, so when the opportunity for an RDX A-Spec landed on my desk, I took it with both hands. It was time to see what Acura has been up to and if they’re taking a step in the right direction. You Want Presence? You Got It! The RDX is the first production model to feature Acura’s newest design language and its no shrinking violet. The front end draws your attention with a large trapezoidal grille paired with a massive Acura emblem. Sitting on either side is Acura’s Jewel-Eye LED headlights that add a distinctive touch. My A-Spec tester takes it further with distinctive front and rear bumpers, 20-inch alloy wheels finished in black, and a special Apex Blue Pearl color that is only available on this trim. This crossover garnered a lot of looks during the week I had, something I hadn’t experience in quite some time. Cozy, Polarizing Interior The RDX’s interior captures the feeling of being in a sports car with a symmetrical dashboard design that cocoons the front passengers. A rotary drive-mode selector found in the center stack echos the design found in the NSX supercar. While it does emphasize the sporty nature of the vehicle, the position of the knob does make the climate controls a bit hard to reach. A-Spec models have some special touches such as red contrast stitching, a suede panel on the passenger side of the dashboard, and new trim for the instrument cluster that help it stand out. Material and build quality are quite close to some competitors from Germany. A set of sport seats with increased bolstering and power adjustments come standard on the A-Spec. I found them to be quite comfortable for any trip length and were able to hold me if I decided to be a bit enthusiastic. Back seat passengers will be plenty comfortable with an abundance of head and legroom. I would have like to see the back seat be able to slide forward and back to offer more comfort. Cargo space is towards the top of the class with 29.5 cubic feet with the rear seats up and 58.9 when folded. There’s also a little storage nook under the cargo floor to stash valuables. Intuitive Infotainment? Acura’s previous infotainment system drew a lot of ire from people. The dual-screen layout was confusing as some functions were split between the two screens such as changing the audio input. Not helping was the two different control methods for this setup; touchscreen for the bottom portion and a controller for the top screen. Thankfully, Acura has introduced a new infotainment system for the RDX. A large 10.2-inch screen sits on top of the dash and is controlled by a touchpad on the center console. Seeing the touchpad for the first time sent chills down my spine as I thought back to my frustrating experiences with Lexus’ Touchpad Controller. But Acura says this controller is much easier and logical to use than competitors. Okay, challenge accepted. Acura’s touchpad controller is slightly different from Lexus’ setup as it is mapped to the screen. So if you want to access the navigation, you tap that part of the pad that corresponds to the screen. This removes the dragging of the finger across the touchpad to get it to the selection you want. This seems quite logical on paper, but I found to be somewhat frustrating. It took me a few days to mind-meld with the system as I was still used to dragging my finger across the touchpad to select various functions. This made simple tasks such as changing presets or moving around in Apple CarPlay very tough. There is also a smaller touchpad that controls a small section of the screen. This allows you to scroll through three menus - audio, navigation, and clock. This would prove to be the most frustrating aspect of this system as it didn’t always recognize whenever I scroll down on the touchpad to move to another screen. Thankfully, Acura has left a number of physical controls for the audio and climate systems. I’m glad that some luxury automakers aren’t falling into the trap. Powertrain Goes Back To Its Roots The RDX has always found itself with a different powertrain throughout its various generations. The first version used a turbo-four engine, while the second-generation moved to a V6. For the third-generation, Acura went back to the RDX’s roots and settled on another turbo-four engine. The 2.0L engine punches out 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. This is paired with a 10-speed automatic and either front or my tester’s Super-Handling all-wheel drive system. The turbo-four is quite a potent engine with little turbo lag when leaving a stop and a seemingly endless amount of power for any situation. The ten-speed automatic is very smooth and quick when upshifting. But it does stumble somewhat when you need a quick shot of speed. I did notice that the 2.0L turbo isn’t a quiet engine when traveling on the expressway, going above 2,000 rpm when traveling at 70 mph. This may explain the slightly disappointing 21.7 mpg average I got during the week. EPA fuel economy figures for the A-Spec SH-AWD are 21 City/26 Highway/23 Combined. The standard RDX models see a small bump in their EPA fuel economy figures. Capable Driver Acura is no stranger to building a crossover that is good to drive, the larger MDX crossover is a prime example. But the RDX A-Spec takes that a step further. This version gets a slightly stiffer suspension setup which negates a fair amount of body roll on a winding road. The steering firms up nicely when pushed through corners. When going through the daily grind, the RDX A-Spec will let in a few more bumps and road imperfections due to its suspension tuning. Road and wind noise are kept to very minimal levels. Welcome Back Acura The 2020 RDX shows that Acura is starting to figure out what it wants to be; a brand that offers something playful in the class. The RDX certainly has the qualities with a bold exterior, punchy turbo-four, and a surprising chassis that offers sporty handling and a mostly-comfortable ride. The slightly-confounding infotainment system and poor fuel economy figures do sour it a bit. But the RDX is a very compelling alternative to many compact luxury crossovers. It does give me hope that Acura is figuring out who it wants to be and excited to see what comes down the road such as the new TLX. How I Would Configure An RDX: For me, I would basically take the exact RDX tester seen here. That will set me back $47,195 after adding destination and $400.00 paint option. Everyone else should look at the Technology package that will get you most of the safety equipment that is part of Acurawatch, along with a 12-speaker ELS audio system, navigation, and parking sensors. It will not break the bank at $41,000 for FWD or $43,000 for AWD. The exact reason GM should have kept the C7 around. A Base model C7 that the R&D is fully paid for and can be offered to more people. They don't want to cannibalize the Camaro though which still offering a less expensive C7 would do and they're still selling Camaro's obviously at a slower rate just like Mustangs and Challengers right now. It also has to do with assembly plant allocation with Camaro being built at a different plant (Lansing, MI) than Corvette (Bowling Green, KY).1 point

Great minds think alike! Except for that Yota MR-Too strange front end kinda like the new i8 pretty sleek lines, but the funky nose doesn't flow with the rest of the car. Yes, RWD and I-6 in Mazda 6, going for broke in a dying segment, last chance too woo sedan buyers.1 point

Be interesting to see if it actually happens now that Covid-19 is hitting the world hard. I think products like this are aimed for the chopping block by financially weak companies of which Nissan falls into. One has to wonder and question the future product road maps for all auto makers right now. Hope it still comes out, but who knows.1 point

Yes it is When the high performance versions of Corvettes first comes out, not the base ones, Vettes usually lead the pack only for Ferrari and Porsche to counter back.... Again...keeping in kind that the Corvette, even the high performance versions, still priced waaaaay below the others... We got a new level of sports car called the hypercar to contend with, that would be the AMG-One or Laferrari... but again, the Corvette has an answer to that... but it aint out yet. It will 3-4 years from now. But Ill just repost what I said above because you got deaf ears. Hypercars are at and above 1 million dollars. The AMG-One is 2 point something million dollars. The Zora Hybrid electric with close to 1000 HP will be at 150 000 dollars... Porsche 911 money... A Corvette is the COMPLETE opposite of what Cadillac, high end M-B, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Bentley, Rolls Royce etc is all about. NON-TRADITIONAL Corvette owners... That is why with the C8, time was right to go ME. Performance was at its limits with 750 HP front engine RWD... Actually, the C6 Corvette with 'only' 650 HP and 638 ft lbs torque was the limit with front engine RWD configuration. The C7 has all kinds of voodoo airflow technology and high tech tire engineering to keep the car stable and to squeeze the most performance out of it. With the C8, this ME config now gets to explore what Corvette engineers could do AND it also introduces the car to new target markets... but the Corvette STILL remains...my long ass rant as definition because you really have deaf ears... It be a money loser for Cadillac to do a supercar/hypercar based on a Vette or bespoke like a Cien concept.. Whether YOU like it or not, the Corvette is best of the best. No matter WHAT price point we are talking about. BECAUSE it is engineered to a low price point, the Vette engineers sacrifice some stuff on it. But...with the C8 we see that some of those constraints have been loosened... Honestly, Id love to see Corvette engineers do to a Corvette program with a budget that AMG-One had with AMG engineers. Ill say it again, the Zora Hybrid C8 to come will EQUAL if NOT surpass what the AMG-ONE will do... And even if...EVEN IF it does not and just misses the mark just a tad, which it might, Ill admit...remember...AMG-ONE is 2 point something million dollars. The Zora will be at 150 000 dollars... A FRACTION of that price tag. WITH TTHE SAME TECHNOLOGY. Maybe a tad less use of exotic weight saving materials materials on the outside and maybe a tad less extravagant materials on the inside to cuddle the owner... BIG DEAL like I said...A CORVETTE IS A HUGE MIDDLE FINGER TO POSH, SNOOTY BITCHES THAT LOOK DOWN ON THE VETTE!!! Sure... Like I said...THAT could mean ANYTHING. It COULD be a Cien. But really no. Its more of a Sixteen, Ciel, Elmiraj or some sort of wacky, more arrogant type of SUV that even outdoes the Escalade. Or the Escalade itself 'escalated' to a higher level... with cigar humidor interiors and whiskey holding cabinets and PHOQUE YOU IM A RICH AS$&HOL3 written all over the exterior design.1 point

@oldshurst442 November 28th 2019 was the last update on the AMG-One and it was given a production date, then pushed back to 2021 as they are saying they did address the emissions issue and invited all 275 paid customers to Germany to explain the issues and delays. But they are sure the cars will be delivered in early 2021. I honestly will be interested to see how it comes out and I think the Tesla 2.0 Roadster will smoke this over rated AMG. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a30029132/mercedes-amg-one-hypercar-production-2021/1 point

I've been on the Montreal system dozens of times the last 5 years, never felt unsafe. Like any big city on the streets and within the trains/platforms you see the occasional mentally ill person acting out. I'm there with kids so I cannot speak for what it might be like late night with the club goers etc.1 point

I rode on it twice. Once on my honeymoon in 2003 and the other time was 2 years ago. That would be two times more than on Montreal's subway system in that same timeframe. ( Which is the same system as we both use France's system) Montreal's subway network is quite safe as compared to other places in the world, but Ive heard that its not as safe as it once was. From the late 1960s all the way to the late 1990s it was a dream riding on it. Since the turn of the new millennium, Montreal's subway has also become a crime "not quite infested" but not far off experience. Maybe Im exaggerating for Montreal, but its definetely more seedy than it ever was.1 point

I dont drink shytty Canadian beer. I drink beer fit for a king. The King of Beers. And this. I must say. This rendering of a C8 Cadillac is great. The other one, from Motor1, looks a lot like an XLR. That too is great, but it does not look like it could be from a C8 platform. Im on the fence with a pure Cadillac engine in a possible ME supercar based on the C8. Although a Blackwing V8 would be awesome in it, Ill question it anyway. Dont get me wrong, I want to see a Blackwing C8 based supercar from Cadillac!!! Aside that Cadillac needs other product before this. But I digress... 1. Like you stated above, Cadillac tried a Cadillac engine in the C51/2 (or C6 light) platform XLR and it did not fare too well in the market place. There are other factors why it failed in the marketplace (an interior not worthy of a Cadillac) but I digress. The Northstar was not a sports car engine. I dont think the Blackwing is a sportscar engine either. I guess the Corvette engineers and Cadillac engineers could re-tune the Blackwing into one, I dont think the Blackwing was engineered from the get go to be one, like how the SBC is. 2. Lets face it. A Chevy Small Block V8 is just about the best V8 in the marketplace....and since the 1990s...EASILY. A Northstar or even a Blackwing doesnt stand a chance against it. Although 550 or so HP is a good starting point for a BASE Cadillac new XLR, and it upstages the base C8 by quite a bit, but when the other Corvette versions come out, the Blackwing does not stand a chance. And lets be honest here, a Z06 or ZR1 will have base XLR price tags, and THAT will make the XLR fail in the market place...again. Like I said, a Chevy Small Block V8 is just about the BEST V8 in the world today...and quite possibly ever... and I dont car if I just pissed off Olds Rocket 88 lovers or Buick big block lovers or Ford lovers or Mercedes lovers... 3. The Cien had it right. A V12 engine was the way to go in a ME Cadillac supercar. It lends itself AWAY from Chevy Small Block Chevy V8 comparisons. In hindsight, maybe for a C51/2 (or C6 light) platformed XLR might have been better off if Cadillac would have invested the V12 for it. Today, for a C8 platformed XLR, maybe a V12 is the wrong engine choice, so Id go full on electric motor to compete with the Tesla roadster 2.0 rather than have an internal combustion engine in it and make it compete with the Corvette needlessly....because we all know, THAT comparison WILL be made. And unfortunetly for the possible XLR, it will be a losing battle.1 point

The XLR based on the C6 Corvette had the exclusive 4.6L NS and 4.4LSC NS (XLR-V) V8's and a 5 speed AT when the first C6's had the LS2 6.0L with a 4 sp. AT then later had the LS3 6.2L and a 6 sp. AT along with the 6 spd. man. and they both had their own exclusive interiors as well, XLR looked nothing like the C6 inside or out. In the last 20 years or so GM has been pretty good about differentiating their bread and butter division with their luxury division. If GM did this the Blackwing 4.2TT or similar would come into play, it will be a limited production high end halo car for Cadillac so very little if any parts bin sharing will take place. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadillac_XLR We all know the XT6 was going to be on the CT6 RWD Omega platform before it was discontinued with the CT6 so it wasn't the original plan like you make it out to be. Omega was a very expensive chassis with all kinds of precious metals used to lighten it up so it obviously didn't make sense monetarily to just have it for XT6 so it was placed on the C1XX CUV chassis to keep it alive. You seem to get stuck in 90's GM when commenting about them, like Oldsmobile, Saturn and Pontiac are still around and all the parts bin sharing is going on like a cancer, but it's 2020 man. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! How would an SUV, ANY SUV, match the track performance of a ME layout sports car like the C8 Corvette?! It's not possible. Doesn't matter how low or wide they get it, it's still a top heavy SUV and the C8 is still a low slung ME track machine, soon to be a Supercar as Z06 and ZR1 and a Hypercar as ZORA. Every auto manufacturer will take a hefty hit this year, none will be immune to the complete disaster of a year like 2020 is. GM has decent free cash on hand after a pretty good Q4 2019 despite the 40 day strike at the end of Q3. https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/GM/general-motors/free-cash-flow1 point

That's it! Minus the decals, canopy and the C3 Corvette side pipes. Has the standard mag wheels the LUV's had. Are you going to be able to handle the desert SW scene on the canopy? Those saguaro's and the orange sky sunset might bring back nightmares! ?1 point

Aunt and Uncle in OR have a yellow LUV, bought her brand new in '74. She's pretty clean and still hauls the family Christmas trees every year and makes the dump runs. Good lil trucks!1 point

@dfelt knows I was jerking his chain, I've been on here a while and we screw with each other often. Humidity is horrible to me in FL and the whole eastern seaboard for that matter where you are constantly sticky and never can fully dry off after a shower, I hate that! Yes, it's drier here and your sinuses and nose get used to it, just don't give up! And yes, many can't cut it here with the heat so it does take some intestinal fortitude and fitness regimen to make it. The NW is beautiful to me and I never said it wasn't. I grew up there so I know what it has to offer, I just needed a change and had enough of the constant rain for 9 sometimes 10 months out of the year. Great to visit when the Summer Monsoon heat and humidity kicks in here for a few months, but I'd never live there year round again. I don't live up North with the senior granola's nor could I, you're right they're mostly all up North in the real nose bleed section of the state in Flagstaff and sprinkled around Sedona. My house is in the 98.6% Conservative area of N. Phoenix/Paradise Valley area, right where I want to be. Conservative retired folk have driven the prices up here for the most part.1 point

WOW, have to say that they can fire the whole emergency response team as the lack of empathy and the unneeded blunt use of force and the I do not care action by the whole group of police officers shows me that we have way too many EX-Military in the police force with no mental training on how to interact with citizens. This was totally uncalled for pushing down a 75 year old man where he is bleeding out his ear and clearly not moving. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/57-buffalo-officers-resign-from-emergency-response-team-after-two-cops-suspended/ar-BB156hh9?ocid=msedgntp I truly believe in our constitution and equality for all regardless of race, sex, etc. I truly think we have hit a breaking point of police being to militarized. Now back to our normal schedule of discussing auto's.-1 points

Corvette isn't the best performance, the C7 ZR1 was 30 seconds slower around the Nurburgring than the 911 GT2, and the 911 is slower than both the Huracan and Aventador. Yes there is a C8 but there is a new 911 too now. And yet Zora will be here in 4 years but the other guys have new stuff coming too. The Zora won't hold a candle to the AMG One, the C8 is too heavy. The AMG One is 1,000 lbs lighter than a C8. Nothing but the GM beancounters is stopping Corvette engineers from making a $1 million dollar hyper car. If Mary Barra said tomorrow she wants a car faster than the Veyron, we'd see if they can take the Corvette to 270 mph. Mercedes made a car that hit 268 mph on public roads in 1938, a record that stood until 2017 when the Koenigsegg Agera did 277 mph. Maybe Zora can go for 280 mph and set the new standard, that should be the target to have best in the world performance. Cadillac can do a fancy SUV, but you have Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Bentley, Ferrari with SUV's too, so you have to do something specular there, but there is less entrants in that space than there are in sports cars, and SUVs sell way better than sports cars.-1 points

Getting rid of a V8 in something like a C-class, and who puts V8s in small sedans outside of Mercedes? I don't see a V8 in an M3 anymore, CT4/ATS never had one, Lexus IS-F is dead, Guilia has a V6, etc. Rumor is Mercedes has a 515 hp 4-cylinder hybrid for the C63, more power than the current V8 and they get to take all that weight off the front axel for handling. SL isn't dying, they have a new one coming next year, I imagine 2022 model with how things are going as you mentioned. They are even killing SLC, S-class coupe, and S-class convertible to clear out space in the portfolio for the SL. And there will be an SL73 at the top of the Mercedes mountain, they are committed to their longest running nameplate. C8 is a game changer in that you can get a mid-engine car for $60k, and even well equipped at $75k, it is a fantastic deal. It is super car performance for half the price. But they always had good performance for half the price, so that hasn't changed. Problem with your last point is when the economy goes south, it isn't the type of people that buy new AMG cars that suffer, it is the other 95% of the population. As millions are unemployed the stock market goes up, Jeff Bezos gets richer and richer while thousands of small businesses fold and every auto maker around the globe lays off workers. The millionaires and billionaires don't suffer, the regular folks do.-1 points

I know you can shave that 12 second gap from RS Q8 to C8. Take out 350 lbs and add 50 hp and lb-ft and you just got 6 seconds. Now it is a 6 second gap. And you are pretty close, not beating but very close.-1 points
