Great name. Surprisingly NOT PC for Seattle. I like it. Saw this during lunch. I guess whether or not you leave the top down depends on the neighborhood. While not a big fan of FoMoCo in general, this take on the Mustang was reasonably well done - at home in the New Millennium but also with definite ties to its original styling cues.2 points

Washington State has one Nuclear plant that will be decommissioned in 2025. Everything here is Hydro, Solar or Wind. As such, while I have less efficient SUV's using regular gas for now, once full size EV SUV's and trucks are out, I will move over and leave the dirty ICE world behind. Why should I waste my hard earned money on NON-Exciting butt ugly trucks like Chevrolet or MEH SUV's from everyone that requires all the same petro / lubrication maintenance when my auto's are paid for. Might as well save my money till I can buy a Hummer by GMC EV Truck/SUV or from Ford or Rivian. I am happy to have little gas use, since the pandemic has me working from home full time now. Like @Robert Hall has stated about how little he drives during the week. I have gone from about $600 to $800 a month in gas expenditures to less than $100 as the Wife and I enjoy our garden, working in the yard and other than once a week to go out for supplies, we have decided to stay home in the safety of our house and yard. I see no reason to spend money on ICE Auto's now that do nothing to inspire me when the future of exciting EV's are coming with much lower Maintenance.2 points

Not sure about the coal---he doesn't have diesels, and the PNW gets it's power via hydroelectric, not filthy coal. I was curious about how much coal-powered power production is left in the US, seems like only 3 still active in my state (2 in the county I lived in as a kid). My power now comes from nuclear plants. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_coal-fired_power_stations_in_the_United_States2 points

The guy who wrote this has no idea what he's talking about. In my area I still see 3-4 K cars still driving daily. What other 35-40 year old beater cars are still driving daily? NONE. All the jap interference timing belt 80's cars are dead or in a garage pieces, the euro junks are dead or in a yard rusting,And there are a few RWD weekend 80's cars around but as far as daily drivers the K car is winning. Today in 2020 I see 2 Lebaron convertibles 1 Reliant Wagon and a 2 door Aries driving locally.I drive all over and see even more standing out on the road due to the 80's chrome style popping out in a field of plastic The 2.2/2.5 Chrysler powered K cars keep going while more modern "Better" cars succumb to the "not worth being fixed" issue due to over-complex design and low durability. Modern engines are more powerful and advanced but the reliability is even worse with CVT belt drive transmissions that barely hit 100k and mpg requirements forcing 0 weight oil which wears the engine faster. Also all the plastic used in modern cars intakes, coolant parts, covers, etc makes them even more fragile and less robust than earlier designs......2 points

It all started after I got back to work after going home for Christmas, my family lives in Detroit and I am a Coast Guard flight engineer in Kodiak Alaska. Well some one on one of my 6 (not joking) connecting flights gave me a cold. So 2 days after I got home the cold got bad so I went to go take some NyQuil, I poured 2 tablespoons into that plastic cup thingy and tried to drink it. Now is where the fun starts I have the NyQuil in my mouth and as luck would have it I cough unleashing a spray of red liquid out my nose all over my kitchen, it looked like I got shot in the back of the head. Then it got worse, I inhaled the rest on the NyQuil right into my lungs, so now im standing in my kitchen red spray all over the cabinets gagging and choking on NyQuil. Then like in most horrible contusions the funny part happened, my girlfriend hearing me making noises like a draining sink you know that sick sucking sound, runs into the room and thinking i'm choking trys to give me the heimlich. Problem is im 6'1" 185 and shes 5'9" about 115 soaking wet holding a brick. So she stars basically hitting me in the gut from behind, well I didn't need her to do that but I couldn't really talk so I pushed her away and coughed up the rest of the NyQuil into the sink. So after explaining what had happened to her we laughed about it, well she laughed I coughed some more. So long story short I really didn't sleep what night because I spent the rest of the night coughing. Well I don't really what you could post, but what do you think for my horrable but very funny story or do you have some thing funnier?1 point

That is a Subaru Baja, the spiritual successor to the original BRAT from the 1970s. Produced between 2003-2006.1 point

Sounds like a good idea. Hydrogen is really hard to collect and harvest for fuel.1 point

Too bad they will not allow that nuclear power plant to simply reprocess the nuclear waste. You could then have the best of both worlds without the need for fossil fuels for baseline electric power.1 point

I think they should do it, even if it's just to find flaws in the vehicle when being run as hard as possible. That's not an F40(F430 Spider) and it's probably about 15 years old compared to the Model X. FWIW, the F430 was made from 2005-2009. Regardless, I bet the X wins in a drag race against most Ferraris.1 point

I've spent $45 on gas total over the last 4 months...;) In the before pandemic time, I was spending maybe $70/month on gas. When I lived in AZ, I was spending $50-60 a week on gas. Having no commute makes a big difference.1 point

Lordstown looks like a worn pencil eraser up front, and the random body ‘stripes’ have to go. It’s out of step with what the segment goes for. No; for sure it’s fairly hideous, even vs. the polarizing Silverado, plus it’s too expensive- it starts about $25K higher than the class leaders. Kinda sad they couldn’t do a little more there to differentiate.1 point

You are hitting the nail on the head as the design team came from GM Chevrolet truck group. So I would expect some aspects of the work they did there to show up in this truck. Battery is between the wheels in the frame. Engine bay is a Frunk. over all nice EV Truck that will serve well to end users as it uses in-wheel hub motors for quad motor AWD. Another excellent truck with Tank Mode.1 point

Yeah, there is that..but we here are all 'guilty' of that. That's the reality of transportation now..still a while before EVs become a realistic option for many.1 point

Tonight, I was behind a new mid-engine Chevy Corvette. I see one anywhere from once every 2 weeks to once a month, so it's sort of a treat. IMO, the best combo is white/burgundy leather interior or silver metallic/burgundy leather interior. This one was (enamel) orange and it looked great. It had temporary plates. The exhaust purr was pleasing to the ear. Given that I was behind this new Corvette and they are fiberglass, I moved into an adjacent lane as quickly as I could.1 point

For company that is bleeding money, this is to be expected and understood as most of the tooling for the polluting ICE models are paid for, so it makes sense for the business to focus on selling ICE for now. But this is NOT a boondoggle as you call it. They are doing Business 101 common sense to survive during a pandemic that is going to hurt the world for years. Yet you would rather Huff Coal and live in the stone age of ignorance. Enjoy your out of date future.1 point

Jaguar XJ electric sedan debut pushed to late 2021 "JLR group focusing on most profitable models during turnaround plan" ~ (In other words, they know they have no hope making a profit on this boondoggle, and they desperately need to turn a profit... so the EV "flagship" is delayed LOL1 point

Today was the day I had to go in, pack up my cubicle and became like @Robert Hall working from home full time. At least I got my setup at home now. On the way out with all my stuff, saw a true oldie along with a modern auto in the parking garage. Have to say seeing the eTron again, that CUV has a phat ass. Sadly, so many businesses are gone. One of my favorite as they made just awesome breakfast/lunch only meals was "The Biscuit Bitch" RIP.1 point

Front end is way Better than the current butt ugly Chevrolet trucks out now. GMC is better looking than Chevrolet. This is far better airstream than Chevrolet is.0 points
