Watched the 12 min video; Cadillac is totally 'talking the talk' with that piece. If most of the lighting & detailing makes it to production, the vehicle is going to reshuffle the hierarchy and see incredible demand.2 points

My work is so boring these days. But still able to bill for 40 hrs/week, thankful I don't have to commute to an office.2 points

You're not going to make 'station wagon' stick. It has no rear cargo area (visually); the roofline is nearly an unbroken arch from the windshield header to the rear beltline.1 point

Agree, this auto shows why Cadillac was the standard of the World at one time. It can very much be again with this station wagon.1 point

Sexy. I like the unique taillight treatment, the long hood, the greenhouse and proportions...1 point

Yeah... I don't see myself putting a deposit on anything new or buying the first year of a new model or generation...1 point

I glanced across this story, wondering as usual why I should care. 'Multi-millionaire restored ho-hummingly common car / thinks it's amazingly special'. First, here's the before/after. Nice job, obviously (tho CERTAINLY not a tough restoration, at ALL) : Ya; it's Aquaman. Then this caught my eye : I don't know why I think the idle rich can pay someone a few bucks to make themselves appear informed, but apparently that's wrong. They made like 560,000 '65 Mustangs, the word "rare" doesn't apply. Then I found out where his thought came from : Apparently he thinks Ford built 1 each of the V8s, and 559,997 I-6s.1 point

See; you say "work on the patio" and I read 'work ON the patio'. I need to move into semi-retirement ASAP.1 point

Yeah, or perpetually not produced otherwise..I know a guy that put a deposit on an Elio which has never materialized. A former coworker that had a Volt and a Bolt put a deposit on a Model 3, and after a couple years hates it so much he's now got a deposit on a Mustang Mach E.. we'll see how that goes.1 point

It certainly happens that people put deposits down on things that remain perpetually illegal. The occurence has no effect on the legalization aspect of the given scenario.1 point

details, details... I'm sure some suckers have put down deposits on them...1 point

David has chronic 'EVSS' (electric vehicle stockholm syndrome). Land Rover above has always been a F'ing ugly shit box, and the Bronco is only marginally better. Changing the 'dirty bits' [™ RobertHall] and quintupling the price is a ridiculous approach. BK in 2 yrs.1 point

When I was 25 years old...I owned a 1999 Olds Alero, a percentage of my dad's 1994 Pontiac Grand Am and if I am to try to compete quantity wise with Balthy, I will lie and say that I STILL owned my 1985 Olds Delta 88 Hmmmm.... versus Tough to figure out what Id rather... I think imma gonna go with Balthy's stable instead of mine.1 point

When I was 25 I owned a '64 GP, my '59 Invicta (plus a '59 Electra parts car), a '73 Dodger Charger Rallye, a '65 Catalina 2-dr sedan, and my daily driver; a '64 Catalina. :D1 point

the Trailblazer and Encore GX should have the 1.5 litre motor and 9 speed auto spec that is currently in the Terrain. Higher hp and the 9 speed compared to the Malibu. I guarantee you those little mites would actually get the same real world or better mpg....not working as hard. Reality is, a 3 cylinder has only 3 expensive pistons and 12 expensive valves and their operating parts, vs. 16. Look at all the money saved on fuel injection also etc. It's a scam to save money, that's why they do it. Build it outside the US also, more and more. If they can make the engine as smooth, 3 vs 4, i have no issues with that...but please bump the displacement to 1.5 and add some horsepower and more torque so its a good roadworthy vehicle. When the newer design 2.0 is offered in the Equinox and Terrain, that automatic makes them worthy of consideration again. The Malibu would benefit from the new 2.0 also. Why they can't be low cost powertrain only options, shows you the restrictions and regulations getting in the way of offering products.1 point

You know what is crazy right now. Chevy dealers hardly have inventory, except for all those new 2021 3 cylinder trailblazers from NotMuhrica (funny how that works, huh). And they are selling like crazy, i see a bunch of them out on the roads ALREADY. with those 1.2 and 1.3 3 cylinder motors and all. I'm pretty sure the salesman never says it a 3 cylinder, or that its a 1.2 or 1.3. They just tell the customer its 'turbocharged' and all of sudden they believe its fast. Turbo = racing ya know!!! Who cares about the engine, tell me how i can play with my phone in the car!!!! A coworker who loves his IMpreza Crosstrek manual, sounds like his wife is angling him to get rid of the small ride and stick....he was asking me about all the compact SUV's, including the Equinox. He would want a 2.0, i told him get that 2.0 before the cancel culture cancels it in 2021. We are conditioned to believe a 1.5 is a normal size motor, and pushing down to 3 cylinder 1.2 and 1.3, Now, not I, I would want the Blazer with 3.6. My ideal for next car is a twin turbo 6. Will I find one, and one that I can afford? Probably not, unless i can resolve the internal battle of CT5 C pillar or not.... Point being, maybe once they have beaten us all down into thinking a 1.3 litre subcompact CUV is luxury...then they will flip the switch and roll out the mass charging network and cheap EV's..... By that point a 10 second 0-60 on that 3 cylinder won't seem so desirable vs an EV with some torque. Maybe by then the Bolts will be selling like hotcakes!!!! I hope all these hot Cadillacs will be great used car buys in 7-10 years before the brand implodes due to 200,000 dollar weird looking and weirdly named EV's that almost no one will buy......1 point

I think it has nothing to do with EVs. People who work from home don't put as many miles on their cars, so less reason to upgrade for something newer. Secondary, a lot of people are out of a work now, so they definitely will hold on to whatever they got and will not purchase anything newer.1 point

It doesn't look good, the front looks too much like a Chevy Blazer and the rear end is all messed up. But it is a concept too, so we'll have to see what the production car looks like, and all the interior images they showed were simulated, so we can't really be sure yet how that will look. Would be nice to have heard more specs, like horsepower or performance beyond a targeted 300 mile range. Seems like this will be a 2023 model, so it is a ways off. I don't know why they would show their hand that far out, and I think what they have isn't better than what Tesla was selling a couple years ago.-1 points
