  1. Never know how much you miss the sun when you don’t see it as much......

  2. I got the Bevel up Jointer previously, which is proving to be a work horse in my shop. I would love to get an infill plane at some point, but they are pricey. This one is made by the Lazarus Hand plane company....one off.....but $1800.... More infill planes...

  8. I have become really captivated with mid centuryu modern design....I want to try a few pieces when i get through a few comission pieces I am building. This design feels heavy though....I think it needs a slightly different base.

  10. Had a very nice sunny afternoon yesterday here. Today, back to the regularly scheduled gloom.

  11. Sounds like either really poor quality control, really poor planning, or raging planned obsolescence.

  12. I like variety. I like the occasional sunny day. I enjoy snowy days when I don’t have to go out in it. What is boring is weeks with no variation as I’ve seen in some places...

  13. I am okay with an overcast day. You can still do a lot. In fact, you can do many things very comfortably. I am a little less okay with drizzly or rainy days.

  14. In the 90's it was a crap shoot on Software with no standards to security, quality, etc. Today, software changes cannot be allowed to break the tree when you check in your fix or new feature. If you break it, you better be ready to explain why and dish out the donuts. Before the pandemic, if you broke the software check-in tree, you had to bring donuts for everyone in the building. In the case of my Isilon team in Seattle, that was 1,200 donuts. OUCH As such, Microsoft and Apple both instituted around 2005 SDL or Security Development Lifecycle. This brought a ton of reliability and improvements to software development. The last decade has seen a big improvement from storage to smartphones in the way software is developed. Most people do not know this, but the FORD Sync system is a Secured Kernel of NT from Microsoft.

  15. Everyone would love be told they're a 10, right? Well, it's out at the end of the bell shaped curve of probability, so it's not likely. However, there are only 10 more days. So, 10 is a good number after all.

  17. I got a kick out of the first photo. As for the second one, it sort of reminds me of the kin folk that the Griswolds had in Kansas in the movie "Vacation" that they visited en route to Wally World. MCM is a weird thing, to me, because there's MCM that's too, too time stamped and MCM that is timeless. One would have to look at each table, sofa, and even house to decide if it's an MCM that they could live with.

  19. It looks like an over flight of Antarctica.... There is a song for that, sung with a pretty voice by a pretty woman....Ironically the first time I heard this song I was riding in a Chrysler as a boy. You can't make this stuff up. I just ordered a Medium Shoulder plane for my woodworking shop, which should come close to completing my collection. It is used to true up joints before final assembly. I got the good PMV 11 blade, which stays sharp for a really long time.

  23. The beauty of the GE logo RE cursive is- you don't actually READ it, you just recognize it. That's why companies bother with logos- to instill recognition. Mad kudos to Ford for retaining it's founder's signature logo for 117 years.
