  3. I am not a big impulse buyer at all. Yesterday, I was at Costco around lunch to have my tires rotated and balanced. I've done fairly well with these so far ... 60,000 miles and more to go. I had a "Cafe' 150" dog and drink for lunch. I got samples (dark chocolate pretzels) from walking around! The "Costco lunch" will return. (Y'all get vaccinated, now.) I wandered over into the clothing. I saw these jeans by Izod for $14.99. I can always use a pair to run errands and for casual wear where labels don't matter. I picked them up and, since they stretch some, they obviously were not cotton. They also have some poly, rayon, and spandex in the mix. The lady working the area wrinkled her nose when I said, "When 87F and muggy in New Orleans?" I guess not, but they would be fine in 67F in Minneapolis. Plus, they're something to wear when you roll out of bed and run errands on the weekend. Costco clothing is one of the few places I may break my impulse purchase rule. I once bought a dark green Gerry down jacket for a kick ass price.

  4. WOW, Ransomware on the stupid gas supplying line owned by Colonial Pipeline operations that deliver 45% of all gas supplies to the Greater SouthEast of the country has caused people to go stupid. Gas shortage, rationing and stupid fights. A woman in a new Honda hits an auto for not letting her cut in line at Marathon gas station and then they end up fighting each other. https://www.instagram.com/p/COvyhm7nu8N/ WOW, People really get stupid. Why would you want to damage your auto let alone spit on another person and then he was an idiot for getting out to fight her. Both deserved the arrest they got.

  5. I swore them off also. There is a place in Cleveland that is amazing, need to find it again. Columbus does not have a lot of good Italian food, actually. A bunch of them in Ohio. My wife and I ate at one the other day. Miata Club used to ahve a "dump of the month" where we would have a convoy of Miatas and someone woudl find something good and out of the way to eat at. That would be enough to make me a celibate monk. I love 60's cars in White. I will see your Ford and raise you a Chevy.

  7. Yeah, it is getting bad out there. Since I am furloughed from my main job (not looking good there, been in interviews the lat few weeks) I am working at my 2nd job-which happens to be in retail. I’ve nearly been attacked twice in the last few weeks for trying to help co workers with customers- anti maskers-or simply jerks (or political). I understand that people are unhappy with much going on in the world- but it shouldn’t make people full of anger and hate. I still treat everyone with respect and love- there is already too much crazy in the world to add to it.....

  8. De-rusted/ deburred/ sanded fan, fan shroud, timing cover, valve covers, breather, A/C dryer bracket, fan guard, some other bits. Fan shroud & breather are painted, rest is ready for prep/ prime/ paint. Need to get my sand blast cabinet up & running; going to swap the sand out for glass bead I think. Also needs new glass- it's been etched by flying sand nearly to the point of opacity.

  10. Stretchy jeans are the only jeans I'll wear. They're sooooo much more comfortable than genuine denim.

  18. This weekend we had the opening for the North Cascade Highway. Wife and I always do the drive when it first opens. A total of 529 miles from our house North up I5 to Burlington, then East to Lake Diablo and then over the pass to the town of Winthrop, then on to Lake Chelan, Leavenworth and then up and over Hwy 2 (Steven's Pass) and back home. Left at 6am, returned home at 4:34pm. Not a bad road trip. Had drinks and food in the auto, but did stop for a bathroom break at Winthrop and the chocolate shop, got a snack at the Cider Bar in Lake Chelan of Zucchini Fries and then at the Heidelberg food stand for what we think is some of the best juicy chicken strips and deep fried mushrooms. All was very clean and social distant with masks. Good safe relaxing day. If your interested in what it looks like, I took 61 photos of the drive. Chocolate shop in Winthrop is awesome if you love chocolate. Lake Diablo North Cascade Highway (HWY 20) Washington State - Cheers and Gears Love the remodel, that is AWESOME! Look forward to the finished pictures.

  20. Wife had a good day, I set up her fountain for the rest of spring and summer, got her pots arranged and gave her a relaxation place. Kids came and took her to get another pot for her to plant something in for her flowers. I installed a new since and faucet for her. Extra deep and big, since we have gotten into cooking so much, she wanted a larger sink and our old double sink was just so small. This thing is big enough to bath a baby or toddler in. Hope everyone had a good mothers day.

  21. @oldshurst442 You are preaching to the choir. *LOL* Throwing the U.S. and Canada into the same bucket (North America), Montreal is considered the 2nd best gastronomic city in North America after New York City. Considering its much lower population and density, that speaks volumes about Montreal's excellence in its culinary offereings. I dream of the place constantly - the beauty, the architecture, the culture, the food, the global mindset, and locals who have been very hospitable to me. Chalk it up to 3 years of French in high school. I fought with my dad back then because he wanted me to take Latin. I asked him if he wanted slam dunk As from me in French ... or teeth pulling Bs from me in Latin. Case closed.

  22. Happy Mother's Day - to the mothers in your lives, whether in your immediate family, extended family, or among friends and neighbors. Or to the mothers in your memories. For some, it's easy to be a mother (from the biological sense) ... they almost lack restraint! For others, it has proven to be difficult to achieve. Regardless, being a good mother is hard work. Enjoy this day.

  23. While I will agree the Stinger fits in there, you're not getting a decently equipped one for 35k as they start at 36k. K5 GT is another option and nice call on that one,

  24. The Charger handles the twisties just fine. It aint a Nürburgring time attack beast, but that aint what Chargers/Challengers are all about. With the exemption of the Stinger, BMW M5, Mercedes AMG E-class, which are sports sedans that were SPECIFICALLY engineered to run the Nürburgring, and the other RWD sport sedans mentioned such as the Pontiac G8 GXP, Chevy SS and BMW 330i, the Charger OUTHANDLES all other cars mentioned in this thread. Like NO question about it. PS: The Charger is a modern muscle car. Modern in that it handles the curves unlike the wallowing, STRAIGHT LINE ONLY muscle cars of yore. IT AINT a muscle car of yore. I repeat. It handles the curves JUST fine. Its just that its MAIN mission is STRAIGHT LINE acceleration. As a heavy RWD muscle car brute, the Hellcat Charger wide body it WILL keep up with a BMW M4, Pontiac G8, Chevy SS. It will lose. But that is OK. It CAN keep up. BUT...on a straight away. The heavy muscle car Hellcat brute will leave ALL in the dust! And quite honestly, in North America, where OUR (Canada also) roads are actually straight for THOUSANDS of miles, who the hell cares for the twisties? Seeing how BMW, the ultimate driving machine company has sold its soul for top heavy North American sales SUVs that also happen to have MORE heft than a Charger itself, and how an old platformed Charger still sells like little hot cakes, Id say that a good chunk of Americans dont give a shyte for the twisties anymore... I like how @Robert Hall put it. These offerings from Toyoter are the same formula of the FWD sporty sedan of the 1980s/1990s with 2021 seasoning. And seeing how Toyoter produced some nice sporty cars in that 1980s/1990s time frame, its nice to see them get back in the game (in producing sporty rides rather than their late 1990s/2000s coma inducing shyte they gave us)

  25. 0-60 is well under 6 seconds for both Camry and Accord Sport. This is on par with much more expensive BMW 330i. Both Accord Sport (which I think is better than Camry TRD personally) and Camry probably can give the BMW run for its money in handling as well. So if you want a sporty sedan that will be reliable and at least somewhat fun, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the two. Lexus ES though, I am not sure is worth it.

  26. The price jump to get something actually sporty that seats four comfortably, is insane. They're a more dynamic driving experience while still being able to have your four doors. there really isn't much that competes with the TRD Camry right now, Accord "Sport"? What else would one buy if they wanted a slightly sporty four door sedan that's less than 35k?

  27. It's certainly possible to have a relatively sporty sedan vs. other trims, given decent suspension/tires and power-upgrades, in any time period. Buyers like them or OEMs wouldn't keep offering them. Not to defend toyoter here but, 300 hp in 3600 lbs is not bad. And GM has built some very good ones in the past.

  28. GM built many of these types of sedans in the past, FWD midsize sedans tarted up to be "sporty"...various Pontiacs, Buicks, etc. These are the same formula, 2021 editions.
