Maybe you didn't know but, there are luxury trucks now. Limited F150, High Country Silverado, Denali Sierra, Limited Ram 1500.3 points

The titles are literally one and the same. Cars and trucks you think are beautiful are also just stuff you like and this is a car appreciation site, after all.3 points

As far as mid-engined cars go. I got tired of the boy racer, shock and awe approach of Lamborghini styling for mid-engine cars. Ferrari done ugly there for awhile too. They are still not out of that ugly funk of theirs. The latest generation Ford GT is at about the limits of what I could stomach on boy racer mid-engine styling. The Corvette C8 falls into this category as well. No Koenigsegg, no Pagani no Bugatti for me. I like that generation R8 with the new NSX because they look "classy". As if James Bond (the German and the Japanese version of James Bond) would be driving. I dont like the McLarens because they are just a tad too bland. And try real hard to emulate Ferrari styling while still trying to forge their own styling. Its like they want to do the original NSX take on it, but ironically, their original McLaren F1 accomplished JUST that. Ironically, the 1st gen R8 and NSX have the right mixture of boy racer and subdued styling that is unique to solely to them. Something the McLaren F1 already had accomplished waaay back in the mid-1990s.2 points

I liken it to music; theres stuff I fully acknowledge is appealing, technically professional and has mass appeal. Let’s throw in Elton John’s ‘benny & the jets’… but I hate that song. Switch it off immediately if I can. Call it a conscious recognition of personal opinion vs. ‘recognized industry standards’ if you want. ’65-ish GMC above is cool, tough, nothing stylistically ‘wrong’ or awkward…. I like it just fine…. but it’s not a ‘beautiful’ design by any legitimate criteria. It has no ‘art’ or passion in it’s design.2 points

Every weed in the desert is still a flower, tho Yellow Daisy (considered a beautiful flower?) (Is that Audi considered beautiful? Because I know plenty who do...but those same folk dont like the NSX, yet they look awfully alike. Kinda like that Marigold Desert weed...and the yellow daisy. ) Its all about perception . And perspective. Lets throw in a piss en lit in there for kicks and giggle. A dandelion just for you anglophones out there. Just dandy! Because one man's weed (from ugly duckling to swan analogy as well) could also mean entirely different things as...that may be just as beautiful to them. Mustangs and Hellcats As opposed to Mustangs and...Hellcats2 points

I could go with that. It feels more appropriate for this truck. Very opposite of most auto enthusiasts, imo. Outside of the bro-wheels and tires, love it. Not saying I don't love it. I can love something that I don't exactly find beautiful. I can think it looks cool, awesome, gnarly and love all of them but not quite beautiful.2 points

I think it's a really cool looking truck but far from something I'd call beautiful.2 points

There is no set definition of beauty, it's objective and in the eye of the beholder. Some vehicles may be beautiful to some and not to others.2 points

It seems like the best all around truck tire with some rugged looks is the good ole BFG K02.2 points

Except, car or truck; there’s nothing ‘beautiful’ about that truck- it just ‘is’. could rename the thread ‘just stuff I like’…2 points

Mickey Rourke... He was such a good looking young man, he had to go screw himself with cosmetic surgery. I get it. Young and hot and women fall into your lap. No loss of work in Hollywood either. Age catches up, roles run dry (when talent is not the primary reason for gigs) and maybe the ladies dont come by anymore. Women in Hollywood have it worse than men do. Aside from all the sexual assault they have to endure... I never saw Wild Orchid. Was never a fan of that type of movie. (comedic sexual movies I liked. Like Revenge of the Nerds or Porky's or Bachelor Party...) I did see its predecessor 9 1/2 Weeks. Basinger is still one good looking lady. Didnt really enjoy the movie. I did enjoy Basinger. If it really was her... Although her ex Alec aged better than her. I dont think she done any cosmetic shyte done. Maybe minimal stuff... (enough with the chick talk...) Ive seen a fair share of Mickey Rourke's movies. Not too bad of an actor actually. The reason why I chimed in was to tell you that I loved him in The Wrestler.2 points

I apparently don't have a thread for my old workhorse. I bought this beast in June of '06, and it already had 46,000 miles on it. Private sale, wholesale value. 6.6L Duramax TD, Allison 5-spd auto, 3.73 rear, crew cab/6.5' bed, 4x4... it was about a $39K truck new. It was my only driver, and I worked out of it daily. I pulled the rear seat and built a giant 'carpenter's box' in that space. I've never opened the motor/trans/rear. It currently has 205,750 miles, still runs great. The only recall was for a rear center seat anchor for a carseat. I didn't bother. Repairs along the way have been: front bearing hubs (twice), brake lines, fuel lines, and just the other week; the in-tank fuel pump. Maintenance has been no problem/bother. I change the oil (myself) between 5K-6K (CarFax on this truck is going to be barren!). LLY-code Duramax is pre-DEF. It does have some rust issues. Frame, cab & bed floors are excellent. However, the rockers are fractured and threatening to blow out. Also- 4 of the 6 cab mounts are no longer holding the cab down. The frame outriggers and the bushing between them & the cab are there, but the washers and lower bushings are... missing. Rear bumper is swiss cheese, but I scored a factory GM bumper off CL for $80. - - - - - Anyway, made a handshake deal/took deposit today to sell it to an old buddy of mine. He always wanted it. He'll burn thru it quick; his '21 Trail Boss has 10K miles in the same time my '21 clocked 3K.... and he has 1, maybe 2 other vehicles he sometimes drives. So the Big Dog Duramax is going down the road. When I bought her :1 point

The topic was how panoramic glass roofs dont belong on pick-up trucks and how these could be expensive fixes if ever they get broken. Speedy Glass repair. Speedy Glass replace... A catchy Canadian jingle of a Canadian business that repairs or replaces windshields that are cracked. There is something humorous about me posting that advertising. Or maybe not. They cant all be winners. LOL1 point

I also saw "9 1/2 Weeks" and did not like it. Usually, when I didn't like a movie, I don't remember much about it ... like a blank slate. It wasn't like "Body Heat," where I had the lines down! Too funny. I saw the resemblance immediately. Thinking bench seat with no armrest, the cheapest of cloth interiors, the plasticky dashboard with those pods (which began in 1978), etc. But, if a person did buy a Malibu of those years, and it did NOT have a THM 200 and it did not have many problems with the CCC, it might serve its owner for quite a long time, though probably not as long as a Seville would. Hilarious that you drew this parallel: a poor man's Seville, so to speak. Edit: just found this ... the Chevy products of the downsized intermediates across 4 brands had the worst interiors and dashboards. You could tap on the side of the pods and hear rat-tat-tat. But the Memory Lane part is good fun.1 point

They don’t have to be old to be ‘beautiful’; just look to the last pic I posted.1 point

It's going to be interesting how the Silverado EV compares to the Ford F150 Lightning.... I assume it won't be strictly a $75-100k luxotruck...1 point

I get the point, but then many trucks have entered Luxury level features and pricing. Crazy world we live in now.1 point

That's assuming these were already sold to consumers and not just dealer inventory...1 point

Totally agree with you that the BFG K02 is a great tire, long life and I have not really noticed any impact on MPG on my auto's that have the BFG tires.1 point

So now, closing in on 44k miles, I have to start thinking about tires. It has been a long time since I replaced tires out of need, and not want. The Wrangler Adventures have been fine as factory original tires go, but I always thought I'd like to have a more aggressive tire... of course, on the other side of the coin, I don't want to give up fuel mileage with gasoline prices where they are, and I like a quieter tire as well. So I'm reading tire reviews.1 point

I never liked that Seville. I do have to say that it IS a good looking car to me. I just dont like it. I do not know why. Maybe its because to my eyes, it looks like a Malibu? Albeit a couple of years later? Which I never liked either. The bustleback Sevillle is even uglier to me. It wasnt until the 1992 Seville that I started to lust after.1 point

Very subaruesque. I wasn't aware the Passport was still in production. I haven't noticed any on the road in years. Pilots, I see.1 point

Retroactive posting September 16 Driving down the highway in my rented Renault econobox, minding my business, and, WTH, I can't believe I'm seeing this car at what appears to be an automotive repair shop's front parking apron. It's a first-gen Cadillac Seville just about exactly 100 miles - as the crow flies - from Seville! I pulled over. How could I not? The grille might give some clues as to the exact year. There was no shopkeeper or proprietor around to talk to and ask questions. It would have been interesting to learn about this car's history. A sunroof in a dry Mediterranean climate that doesn't appear to be leaking. Underneath it are velour seats - probably a reupholstered interior. Left 3/4 rear view. Right 3/4 rear view. You may note that you see Cadillac badging all the way around, but there is no badging for the Seville nameplate. What a sighting!1 point

Exactly. All they need to do is sell the slow speed maneuverability of the vehicle and it'll sell accordingly. That is all that is needed from four wheel steering.1 point
