  1. I read somewhere, probably Blue Oval News, that Ford's D3 has more in common with the Volvo XC90 version of P2 than the S80 version of P2. That may be why the D3 sedans are so tall. There are rumors the next MKS will switch to the Ford Flex wheelbase which may help proportions. I also think the XTS is 21st century version of the early 1990's K based Imperial/Fifth Avenue.
  2. I don't think it's an improvement over the DTS. It's too narrow, and I don't care for the third window in the C pillar. I think it could succeed modestly if priced at the level of the Lexus ES350, but I fear Cadillac will price it much higher.

    Sting Operation

The car will probably not be called Hornet. http://www.allpar.com/news/index.php/2011/09/trademarks-show-possible-names
  4. The Verano appeals to me more than the Focus or Cruze, but I have read the fuel economy is only 22/31, which is pathetic when the Camry will have 25/35.

    2012 Buick Verano

I hope the Verano's fuel economy is better than 22/31 - that's only slightly better than what the new Camry's V6 gets.
  6. The MKZ, MKX, MKS, and an Explorer based Navigator are enough for Lincoln. The MKS needs to be redesigned to look like a proper conservative large Lincoln sedan, not an Acura.

  8. I could also see Fiat 500 dealers also selling Alfa Romeo, and if the MiTo comes to the U.S., there would be no need for a Fiat B class car.
  9. I think Fiat should also sell a B class hatchback here. I think it is called the Punto. However, the C class should go to Dodge.
  10. I am disappointed that Cadillac doesn't have its own full size RWD sedan, but at least the XTS looks like a Cadillac. The MKS does not look like a Lincoln. The XTS should be much more successful than the MKS.
  11. Bring the wagon here either as a Cruze or a Verano.
  12. I read somewhere the the Alpha Camaro will be about the size of a Cobalt coupe.
  13. VW needs a high tech, high fuel economy gasoline engine for the Jetta and Golf. However, my understanding is VW's only reliable engines are its simple ones - the 2.5 and the 2.0 8 valve. I understand the 3.6 and the 2.0T DI are not as reliable and very expensive to repair.
  14. There are rumors the Acadia may be dropped or moved to a stretched Theta platform to make room for a Cadillac Lambda. The Acadia could also remain on Lambda because it's popular.

    A baby Enclave

Verano is a Delta. I meant Encore. Some say Encore will be Delta, others say Gamma.

    A baby Enclave

I read that the next generation Equinox will move to the Delta platform. Some sources say the Buick Verano will be Delta, others say Gamma (Sonic).
  17. And content. That's the big thing for me--size, performance, content, European athleticism...this car fills the spot vacated by the Aurora. I haven't looked at the interior dimensions (no way the trunk matches up to mine), but the performance matches up. The V8 Aurora did 0-60 in 7.5 seconds, with the V-6 clocking in at around 8.5. Now, what are the engines and 0-60 times in the Regal? Seems like an efficiency upgrade to me. Fuel economy numbers? Aurora was rated 19/28 (V6) and 17/25 (V8). Those are the original ratings, NOT the revised ones because at least for the 3.5 they are more accurate by my experience. For comparison, the Regal and turbo (T) fuel economies are: 19/30 and 18/28 (T). EDIT: I hope you mean trim exterior dimensions, because the interior is quite spacious. The Regal would be more of an Aurora successor if it had an optional 3.6 instead of those turbo fours. Just as the Verano (which I am seriously considering for my next car) has the bigger 2.4 instead of the Cruze's little engines, I just think that Buick should give the Regal bigger engines than the Malibu.
  18. If it were up to me, the 3.6L should be used across the board, and the 3.0L should only be offered as a twin turbo in the LaCrosse, XTS, SRX, and maybe the Lambdas, ATS, and CTS.
  19. The Impala will not be RWD in 3 years or ever. It will move to the Epsilon II platform in about 3 years. GM may import the Holden Commodore here again as a Chevrolet in a few years, but even that program is iffy.
  20. I gave up dreaming of a RWD Impala years ago, as GM has made it loud and clear that the next Impala will be Epsilon II - probably a heavily decontented Chevrolet version of the XTS.
  21. My understanding is the XTS is just a stopgap car for DTS buyers and will be offered for only one generation. I don't think Buick needs anything like the XTS because it appears to basically be a LaCrosse with a larger trunk.
  22. Since the market for full size sedans is so small, I believe the Enclave is perfectly fine as Buick's flagship.
  23. Upscale versions of the Regal would just be much more pleasant with GM's excellent 3.6L DI V6 than with any of the turbo fours. Save the turbo fours for the Verano.
  24. The redesigned Impala doesn't debut until 2014 so continuing to grumble is pointless. For the next 2 1/2 years, Impala is GM's Panther.
  25. I prefer the simple styling of the new Passat to all of the recent mid size efforts by Ford, GM, and the Asians. I would only worry about VW's reliability.
