Exactly, and the new Aviator is on the Explorer chassis so not much separation with actual models. Lincoln IS trying to separate from Ford financially as a stand alone company "Lincoln Motor Company", but that's about it.

Yeah, it would need to have a required DOT crash bar/bumper behind the lower part of the grille. GM needs the recent truck designers back over at Chevrolet, GMC definitely has the right design language for the Sierra. Probably better in person like the T1 Silverado too.

Not slated to start full production and shipping until late December. Should be fine, especially with having the dedicated factory in Bowling Green. I'm glad GM is holding the UAW accountable, they've taken advantage of our Domestic automakers for far too long.

I sat in a C8 for a bit back in Aug. at a reveal event at a big Chevrolet dealer (see my auto spotter below). It was a Z51 with the latest Magnetic Selective Ride Control. The interior and seats were very high quality (it had the GT2 mid level seats) with great feel and perfect lateral bolsters that fit me perfectly at 6'3" 225, steering wheel has a really nice feel with flat top and bottom and magnesium paddles, leather wrapped everything. It will have Super Cruise II eventually, just wait for the 700+ hp Z06 and Zora (ZR1) with over 1,000 hp combined 850hp TT flat plane crank V8 and 200hp out of dual front AC traction motors, so a Hypercar C8 Vette is coming too. Corvette is on a much higher level than your run of the mill Chevrolet car and people looking at them know that, but GM took that image and doubled it for the C8, so build quality and brand image that you think are an issue really aren't, even the C7 Corvette proved that. Yes, the dealership/service dept. would be better if they emulated Cadillac for Corvette owners, having experienced both Cadillac and Chevrolet the Cad. sales/service is at a much higher level, as it should be. There were several exotic car owners at the reveal event driving Lambo's, Ferrari's, McLaren's, and even saw an LFA unicorn cruising in to check out the C8.

C8 Configurator is a blast. I messed around with building one when they released it. Mine came as a 3LT Z51 Ceramic Matrix Gray (basically Arctic white with tint coat) with light gray dual stripes which I don't usually like, but it made it complete then black leather with red stitching and red belts Carbon Flash pkg. and Carbon Flash wheels with machined edge, came to about $77k, not bad at all considering what you get.

Yep, it's the base model 1.5L I4 Malibu that has the CVT, had one with National not too long ago, higher end models have the new 9 spd AT. I hate CVT's, but it wasn't as slow to ramp up like a Jeep Compass I had to rent one time it was horrible! It seems like the CVT helps the small 4 banger turbos ramp up easier without as much turbo lag. It's a cost cutting thing too, when they go out they just swap them out over the cost to rebuild or trying to repair one.

It's funny because my Father at 67 still wants to hear his V8 in his Escalade or C6 Convertible Vette when he stands on it, actually ordered the exhaust pkg. on his Escalade haha and says he's not ready for an EV when I asked him about Tesla, so not all older gents like the quiet of an EV, he's a older gear head for sure.

You actually can't tell that it's amplified sound in the Cadillac. They pipe actual exhaust sound and engine bay intake sounds from mics into the Bose Panaray sound system so it's real engine sounds, but doesn't really sound like it's coming from the Bose system, hard to explain until you drive one, I've driven a CTS-V it's pretty impressive. It's a nice and quiet V8 when cruising or a brute force sound whenever you want.

Like the Genovation GXE EV Corvette, that's almost sacrilegious. No exhaust sound on a Vette is like no mayo on a sandwich, dry and boring.

So are they closing up shop over at Nissan/Infiniti or what? That's UGLY and Toyota/Lexus not pretty either. Maybe people are finally waking up. Audi as a whole not looking too good. FCA needs to pull Fiat/Alfa Romeo from the US market already, it's been bad for them basically since they re-entered our market, and what about the Chrysler division? Not surprising, but not good. Ram's only up double digits for Q3 because they are still selling the old POS Ram 1500 Classic with $15k+ on the hood along with the new Ram 1500. I don't see very many of the new Ram's in a pretty big truck market here in Phx. Ford as a whole needs to get their act together as well, first by bouncing CEO Hackett out on his head, Lincoln's only up because they were so far down. Wonder how the Explorer/Aviator build quality debacle is going? Did they launch a Recall on all the issues yet like they should? Is Mitsu up because they were so far down or are those bogus numbers?😏🧐 BMW, Tesla and Volvo looking pretty good for luxury only makes. We know why MB is up for the month, restructuring and clearing out several models that needed to be cut years ago. GM had a profitable Q3 as a whole ending up well into the green, but that slightly down .8% for the year unfortunately is going to grow by the end of Q4 and '19 thanks to the UAW BS going on. With the above post, I was stating the obvious facts with the sales numbers. How is that "triggered" to you in any way? Wow, you really don't get it do you? More sales doesn't mean a better vehicle, usually cheaper or that it doesn't last. F Series is a prime example. So that would explain F150 and Ram 1500 #1 and #2. Thanks that was my whole point! I think we're done here.

I understand Net Revenue is cash brought in from sales and Net Income is cash on hand after expenses, thanks teach I have college degree. And GM still has more of both than FCA. Nah, I already said I'd buy a new GMC Sierra AT4 before a new Silverado. Don't you read all of the post or did you just get triggered over "revenue"?

I never said I liked the look of the new Silverado as much as my 2018 K2 either, but the new 2019 T1 does look better in person. I would buy a new GMC Sierra AT4 anyway. Ram fanboys get kinda touchy, it's pretty comical actually. My whole point originally was that GM was doing well and the GM haters came out of the woodwork haha.

I know they all offer big rebates but the old Ram has had the most because the R&D is well paid for so they are cashing in to "sell more" than Silverado, classic Chrysler move. Yes, GM sells the "Classic" Silverado K2XX but it's only in the Double Cab/Extended cab configuration that's not as popular. They didn't want to cannibalize the new Silverado/Sierra like Ram has with the old Ram model offering crew cabs as well. Ram also doesn't have the capacity plant wise that GM does for a new model that's ramping up.

That's pretty much all Ram is building of the new Ram is the top trim so that's probably what you'd notice. I haven't seen any mid level new Ram's comparable to a Silverado LT or Sierra SLE. The Ram is definitely cheaper once they throw the cash on the hood, Ford does the same thing. GM hasn't had nearly as much for rebates with the new GM twins, one of the reasons GM is bringing in great revenue and had a great Q3 as a whole.

Polarizing look and too much chrome for me. Yes, the new Sierra in AT4 trim is badass. I like the mono trim look with painted bumpers and grille or black chrome grille like the AT4. GM is ramping up new Silverado and Sierra production, once the whiny UAW gets their act together. They rolled out the new Silverado/Sierra with more of the base and top trim not as many in-between models. GM isn't throwing huge incentives on the hoods of their trucks like Ram and are one of the only manufacturers making good revenue right now.

It's 81 degrees right now at 10:27 am here in Phoenix, Arizona, lived here for years as well and there's definitely more new Silverado's than new Ram's around, and I don't live too far from Van Chevrolet and GMC or AirPark Dodge, Ram and Jeep. Since you didn't pick up on it, what I said above was Ram is slightly outselling the Silverado right now because they are selling the full line of both the old Ram and new Ram with the most popular layouts on both. I actually did see a new Ram with temp tags yesterday, but still barely any of the new Ram compared new GM trucks. Have you ever heard of the phrase, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig"? Well that's exactly what the new Ram is inside, they're not and have never been engineered or built as well as GM trucks.

An EV car is one thing, but I just think an EV truck will be strange when driving and not hearing the engine and exhaust note. I'd need exhaust sounds broadcasted over the stereo like GM does now with the Escalade and other trucks that are so quiet inside, they do it with the CTS-V and other cars too. I think an EV sedan will definitely still be desirable and sell in limited quantities like you said at the end. They do sell well, but not everyone wants a CUV/SUV.

Asian brands will definitely follow, maybe not all sedans like Ford, but just wait.

Yes, GM is discontinuing all Chevy and Buick cars, but the Malibu and Camaro, the Impala was 3rd or 4th in a segment that's fading fast, but it's mainly going away because it and the LaCrosse ride on the same Epsilon II platform as the Cadillac XTS that was being phased out and the plant they were built in was closing right behind the last car out. Impala/LaCrosse/XTS was a 10 yr old platform brought out in 2010. Cad. CT cars are all RWD/AWD so it didn't fit the current portfolio, although it still sold pretty well with Livery companies/drivers. When there is another Recession and they need to start building smaller cars again it wouldn't be that difficult for GM or Ford to fire the stamping machines back up for smaller cars if need be, being that most of the CUV's ride on the same chassis because the cars on the chassis do get a bit better mpg with less weight and drag. Fusion obviously isn't dying sales wise, so they should keep at least that sedan along with the Mustang although Fusion has had it's fair share of Recalls with the 2018 Recall where lose steering wheels that were separating completely from the steering shaft (which is insane) and the 2016 Recall where the drivers seat track assembly had bad welds that were breaking in accidents probably caused by the steering wheel falling off that was caused by the most recent 2019 recall where the shifter cables corrode and break off from the transmission 🙄🤔 maybe Ford is making a good decision to discontinue the disaster that it was. I think the Asian brands will following suit as well, they know the sedans days are numbered, but they sell a cheap econbox that many A to B buyers still want...for now. Really? That's pretty sad, he definitely should have gone out in a Lincoln. He probably told the family "Don't you dare put my body in a GD Cadillac!" HA!!
