  1. There are too many variables to compare one real world accident with another. Do you know the speed, the angle, the weight and speed of the other vehicle, the point of impact? That's why crash tests are done in a controlled environment, with none of the variables.
  2. Right, the old Equinox was perfect, with it's 185hp Chinese built engine and all. Yet your so against Japanese cars, while saying there's nothing wrong with a Chinese engine Equinox. I'm sure you were telling everyone in the 80's that there was nothing wrong with a Citation either.
  3. Depends on the car. My dad always had older Chevys, and he's probably never spent over $500 on a single repair, a lot of them were daily drivers for him. Once you start getting into the cars with electronics, that's when it starts to get expensive.
  4. I don't see anything out of line either. The Volt at over $40,000 is a joke. That is as affordable as a BMW 3 series. Except, it's a Chevy.
  5. And generally, GM's automatics are just as quick as their manuals, so even though it was an auto, I don't see that as being a handicap.
  6. And an HHR isn't a family car at all My Grand Prix was no GTO or Corvette, but it was less a family car(and at least it was a coupe) than the HHR SS is which you praise all the time.
  7. Because it was only a 210hp car for 6 months out of the year? Actually in AZ it was 210hp 9 months out of the year. I spent $1,200 to get an intercooler, and installed it myself, which GM could probably have done for $400. I don't know about you, but when I buy a car and the window sticker says 240hp, I want 240hp and not 210.
  8. What was the weather like when you did those drag races? In my Grand Prix GTP, anytime it got hot out, I noticed a huge drop off in power, probably as much as 30hp less when the temp got above 90 outside. GM should have been smart enough to add an intercooler to the car from the factory, instead I had to install one on my own.
  9. Well your issues are with the media, and I agree with you somewhat, that sometimes the media doesn't give domestic car companies a fair shot, and then other times the negativity is deserved. But to say I'm ignorant because I won't buy GM anymore, is way off base. I have given GM the benefit of the doubt for almost 10 years. I've seen GM make bad decision, after bad decision, and ignored them, and continued to buy GM. GM finally lost my business because of their decisions, and definately, the closure of the brand I basically grew up with, was the final straw. How does that make me ignorant? Maybe if GM wasn't handed free sales for being domestic over the past couple of decades, they would have realized a long time ago, that they may have to make better cars than the competition. Imagine if GM actually tried to do that in the 70s and 80s, intead of resting on it's laurels. They probably wouldn't have ever been in the dire situation they have gotten themselves into.
  10. Let's cheer for incompetance then. Let's prop up our businesses who couldn't make a smart business decision to save their lives. That will save our western society, from ignorant people like me. And my next car will probably be European, not Asian. Western Civilization was built on capitalism, and what you are supporting, is almost the opposite.
  11. Ok, then I do care, and I am now part of the opposition. The truth is, I would be happy to see GM's sales fall as a result of all their bad decisions.
  12. What fun would it be for this website to be even more one sided than it already is?
  13. Sounds like the M3 is in the lead, and the Cadillac is in close 2nd. If all you read is the comments on this website, no other sedan could ever stand a chance against the Cadillac. Horsepower isn't everything.
  14. Ok, I will. GM is increasing it's marketshare from 3 months ago, not from 1 year ago. Wasn't there some kind of event that happened around that time, like GM filing bankruptcy? They are only getting some of their own marketshare back, from before they filed bankruptcy. It was probably also GM's record low for marketshare, which would be rock bottom. You're trying to find the silver lining in a landfill.
  15. I don't see anywhere that marketshare was mentioned, only sales. If GM increases 5% compared to last year, but overall car sales increase by 10%, GM still loses marketshare.
  16. Very nice? Maybe if you forget how bad their sales were last year. When you hit rock bottom you can only go up from there.
  17. You see how GM doesn't always make the right decisions? GM should have kept Olds and let Buick go. But GM doesn't keep the best cars and brands, only the cheapest.
  18. Pontiac Cadillac Olds Saturn Chevy GMC and no Buick, because I would never consider owning one.
  19. I agree. I think the comment about long term trends was funny. What does that person consider a long term trend? 50 years? The Earth has been around for billions of years, and weather has just started being measured recently. If you want trends you need to look at thousands of years or longer, not 50 years.
  20. What he said. Though, I usually order online from http://onlinecarstereo.com/ Just compare their prices to Crutchfield's and you will see why. Pioneer DEH-P7100BT from Crutchfield is $339 onlinecarstereo is $279 For $60 I'll find the wiring and adapters that I need myself.
  21. I really like the OS on the G1(it's based on Linux) I had a phone with windows mobile 6 before, and it's not even in the same class as the G1's OS. I'm not sure how it compares to the OS on the IPhone though.
  22. That's the same reason I wouldn't get the MyTouch. I need the keyboard. I play games and use the internet a lot on my phone, which is a lot harder to use with an on screen keyboard.
  23. Get the G1. It's the only phone I have owned for over 6 months and not got bored with.
  24. If it was a turbo I would be interested. I will probably be buying a 300zx turbo within the next couple of months.
