Lovely looking ring!

Great write up, I too am wondering how many of the mid size sedans from some of the base players can be priced at Luxury level and if it is worth it. This seems to say no for the Ford Fusion Titanium. Nice car but a bit pricey.

Ford spills Details about new Carbon Fiber GT350R Rims.
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in Industry News
So if you have to throw it away, can it be recycled? Could you grind up the carbon fiber rim and reuse it in new products? We'll Binging away I found there are companies that do recycle carbon fiber for hew products such as football gear. Even Boeing is committed to recycling all Dreamliners and their surplus product. http://www.environmentalleader.com/2014/08/28/boeing-to-recycle-dreamliner-carbon-fiber/ http://www.adherent-tech.com/recycling_technologies/carbon_fiber_reclamation_faqs http://carbonfiberremanufacturing.com/pages/recycling/disposal.php Clearly we have found a way to reduce weight and make it recyclable so we do not put it in the landfills. -

Love that they dumped the ugly heavy chrome grill for a more Monochromatic grill. -
Conrats! Thanks! I've had the ring for 2 months and she kept screwing up my plans to propose, obviously she was blissfully unaware. We live together so it made everything much more difficult. Awesome, congrats, I have 25yrs now and still going strong. Wish you all the best.

G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com Motor Trend reports details of Fords new GT350R Rims. GT350R Carbon Fiber Wheels Interesting that only a few months ago in a differnt thread we were talking about tires and rims and I mentioned that Carbon Fiber rims would be the future and here Ford is making it happen with real rims. Only 18lbs compared to 33pounds per rim for a 40% reduced weight and able to survive curb strike tests as well as Corrosive salts, road chemicals and UV. So is the future to go to Carbon Fiber for more auto's? Can you fix a cracked or chipped Carbon Fiber rim like aluminum and steel or is it a throw it away item?

Glad to hear they are taking care of you and was an easy fix. I am sure they are working out the fine details to make a broader pitch of diesel options in the near future.

I have to ask.. What is the difference between that and a 32" TV? Don't most modern TVs have inputs to be used as monitors? The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is resolution. Don't computers/monitors use a much higher resolution than 1080p? The main difference is that TV's as long as they are 1080P only give you the HD resolution or lower and usually have only HDMI or VGA ports to connect to a computer. Computer Displays like the one above at the link have the HDMI but also the HDMI Display port which allows the full resolution to show up which is 2560 x 1440 compared to HD which is 1920 by 1080. Plus with dedicated Computer displays you get so much more, what you asked. Comparison TV - 1920 x 1080 resolution with an extra HDMI or VGA port and that is it. HP's 32" Computer Display - 2560 x 1440 with HDMI Display port plus the following: 2 HDMI ports for connecting to blue ray or other devices 2 bass speakers 2 treble speakers USB Hub Built in with multiple ports Headphone stereo port Some models also allow the monitor to go into Portrait mode such as the NEC Display monitor. Price just came down to $459 so even better deal now. Great way to have 3 full size web pages open at the same time or a large spreadsheet. TVs come with more HDMI inputs, more USB ports, you have the computer for a headphone jack. The only thing that I really see stand out is the resolution, like cp said. I mean "factory" speakers won't equate to a good aftermarket set at this price point anyway so those speakers don't really mean much, in my opinion. I guess I just don't see $500(after tax) being worth it for a 32" monitor/tv... Sorry, not trying to sound like a prick.. I'm just trying to see the value in this.. If you do not create content for say marketing or training, then most would not need a large monitor like this or one that is tuned for first use as a computer monitor, second use as a TV. TV's are not good use as a monitor but more for a quick web browse. In my line of work having multiple monitors like this allows one to have all their work laid out and quickly move back and forth between documents, web sites, bugzilla, SSH sessions to hardware, etc. I just moved our folks to dual 27" NEC monitors for those that like a monitor in Portrait mode or a single 32 inch and they are all loving the real estate space.

Looking for trucks in Iowa? That's a bit of a drive for you... Also shows that while Ford might be saying they are selling F150's big time, they really are only filling up dealer lots as the lots around here are showing ton's of Ford Trucks and not much moving. The ads this week in Washington are starting to approach 9K off F150's. I have to say FORD has missed something here or buyers see better value in GM or RAM.

Wrong, CNG is 110 Octane and on a gallon to gallon equal you get higher HP and Torque for CNG. Ethanol is where you loos HP and Torque. Terrible Fuel and Waste of Tax dollars plus the increase in food costs on corn. Available now from your fleet sales rep. So I was right on the octane, and possibly wrong on the mileage (I'm pretty sure the mpg versus ethanol is roughly the same). Either way, it'll probably remain a niche fuel solution for now. Actually CNG is growing and is a logical next step off oil till batteries can hold 500 miles in a charge. Right now 15% of the US Trucking fleet is either CNG or LNG, UPS has plans to have both long haul and local delivery all on CNG by 2018. Washington state Ferry system largest in the US is changing over to LNG and will be complete by 2018. Since you get more HP and Torque and it only produces about 1/3 the green house gas, and the US has the worlds Largest proven reserves I believe we will move this way. Plenty of available CNG models also from the OEM's.

The new gym? Haven't heard that expression before. I just came up with it. From the sound of it she probably has a weighty set of exercise balls and provides at least a few minutes of cardio for each person that steps on...... Any woman can be the Gym for the right guy!

G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com Oregon DOT starts first in Nation Charge per mile program! The new MyOReGO program kicked off July 1st with a 1.5 cent per mile charge for driving on Oregon roads. This new program allows people to sign up and receive a credit for state gas tax paid at the pump. Quoting per their web site OReGO covers the following: OReGO volunteers will pay a road usage charge for the amount of miles they drive, instead of the fuel tax. The OReGO road usage charge is set at 1.5 cents per mile. Volunteers will get a credit on their bill to offset the fuel tax they pay at the pump. Volunteers will have their choice of secure mileage reporting options offered by OReGO’s private-sector partners. Volunteers’ personal information will be kept secure and private. The first phase of OReGO is limited to 5,000 cars and light-duty commercial vehicles. You can check out their calculate and compare subsection, Choices and more. Over the last few weeks many various news outlets have covered this story and you can read both the State of Oregon news release and other news outlets stories on this. http://www.myorego.org/press-room/news/ This program will run and allow the state to see if it makes better sense to charge everyone a per mile road tax versus a gas tax. Many myself included believe we need to move away and dump the whole petrol / alternative fuel tax and have everyone pay a per mile tax for use of the roads. Thoughts? Sound off!

it's interesting. Elio has been going around to all of the states to get this classified as a car instead of a motorcycle. I would like to do an article about that. So what is gained by getting this classified as a car rather than a trike? I thought it was cheaper and easier to get on the road as a 3 wheeled trike than a car? No helmet laws. Good point, totally forgot just because it is enclosed as a motorcycle they would still require a helmet. Thanks for pointing it out.
