Another interesting read on a story just posted at Electrek, as we know, in 10 days we will get the reveal of the Tesla truck and the big question is can they steel any mojo back from Rivian? This seems to boiling down to a simple matter of how many motors, does it have torque vectoring and what is the approach and departure angles of the truck for real world off road use? As the story points out, we know Musk will point out the 0 to 60 time, Tesla Supercharging infrastructure, along with incredible straight line performance as they use their latest Plaid power train system. As Polestar has pointed out, Tesla Cannot achieve what Rivian has done with a brake based two motor torque vectoring system unlike the actual 3 motor system that Rivian is using as well as Polestar. They take nothing away from Tesla for the incredible leadership of pushing the EV auto industry, but they do wonder what Tesla will do to attempt to take back some Mojo from Rivian. https://electrek.co/2019/11/11/rivians-quad-motor-torque-vectoring-sets-high-bar-for-tesla-cybertruck/#more-110016 As a person who lives in a state that is very green energy production and heavy sales of electric auto's, it is amazing to hear from my fellow coworkers who are Tesla owners that they have put down deposits for the Rivian Truck. Tesla has a big delivery to do in a few days. Interesting Video on the comparison of the two.

Seems we have a new American Cruiser, Designed in California, 100% built in China and available for sale soon after a major roll out at the Milan Motorcycle Show. https://electrek.co/2019/11/12/hadin-american-style-cruiser-electric-motorcycle-eicma/ Also out is the latest G20 review for which counteries are leading in addressing climate change: Market share of EVs in new car sales, the report, which drew its data from the International Energy Agency, named the top 5 as: China: 4.48% US: 2.45% Canada: 2.32% South Korea: 2.21% France: 2.15% https://electrek.co/2019/11/12/green-transport-report-card-g20-countries/ Latest on Tesla charging is a new 28 stall V3 supercharger station between LA and Pheonix. Allowing a much shorter time for the 372 mile drive. https://electrek.co/2019/11/12/tesla-largest-28-stall-supercharger-v3-station-la-phoenix/#more-110165 Sadly it seems in Germany vandals are setting Tesla auto's on Fire. Go figure. ?\ Seems while he had sentry mode on, was too cheap to buy a USB thumb drive to record the actual video. https://electrek.co/2019/11/12/tesla-set-on-fire-targeted-vandal/#more-110083

Seems Police are finally taking a heavy hand to IDIOTS who ICE electric charging stalls. German Translation via Bing: Our #A11 also takes care of heavyweights: If the big blue had actually tapped the charging station, the electricity would probably have failed in the surrounding households. Gonna suck for this Ford truck owner when they return to find their truck gone to the impound yard. Nice Raptor in the impound cage where they belong. Imagine all the ICE owners who would be pissed if EV's decided to park in front of gas station pumps not allowing people with empty tanks to fill up. ?

Reminds me of Honda, pass.

Agreed, here are the top 5 Korean mountain ranges and their names: Some how a Hyundai Gajisan, Hyundai Dongdaesan or Hyundai Cheonhwangsan as a CUV just does not ring a marketing bell!

At your work? ? I see Hong Kong is officially in a recession along with Russia, Italy, Greece, Japan, and I could go on but yea, I think the Global economy is taking a pause.

Yes Honda had it on a tiny little car. GM did it on a Full size truck that could HAUL and the quadrasteer was awesome for trailering. It made it so much easier to backup and turn around when you had a trailer, the longer the easier it became. I question the sales comment as the last year they still sold very well yet not in the large numbers of the rest of the trucks. I think a business case could still have been made to make a Chevy and Cadillac version of a truck like this. @USA-1 I agree with you that the ELR was what GM should have done first at Cadillac but at around a $55,000 to $60,000 price and then roll out the VOLT at Chevrolet.

VW News: New Passat Comes In Cheaper Than Outgoing Model
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Volkswagen
Sweet Packages, so much better than anything GM has ever offered. For the R-Line, sad that it has Chrome, to me the R-Line should be monochromatic. -
Great technology, but sadly GM like always failed to market it and show the benefits that would justify the cost. Anyone who has driven one of the GMC trucks with Quadra steer knows how easy it is to park those awesome rides. Management stupidity for killing off the Avalanche / Escalade EXT. ?

What about the investments for new tools, robotics, updates to manufacture auto's at that plant location. Would those capital investment costs not need to be put against the income side?- 21 replies

Some are and have proven that point by building a luxury auto the public wants, but Maseratti and Alfa is NOT what the public wants and has not been selling to be profitable proving that Luxury is not where the money is for everyone as by looking at Jeep and Ram.
