  1. Yes I did, I folded up my body into the Golden Sand Dune Bug that they had to test drive at the Seattle auto show. Unimpressed, but hey, you love it so all yours, enjoy it!
  2. Crazy Rich kid gets to race Dubai Police car on the streets.
  3. @ocnblu @balthazar @A Horse With No Name Thought you all would get a kick out of this Driving Manifesto! http://www.thedrive.com/opinion/18952/this-is-the-human-driving-manifesto Have to admit, I agree with a number of points he makes.
  4. Seems $70,495 is the starting price of the Jag i-Pace EV cuv according to: https://www.autoblog.com/2018/03/06/2019-jaguar-i-pace-pricing-announced/ $86,895 for the HSE version.
  5. Seems Geneva auto show is where the EV stomping of Tesla is begining with the Rimac C Two, at nearly 2000HP and 1.85 seconds to 60, they have stomped on the Tesla Roadster 2.0 before it even starts shipping. https://www.autoblog.com/2018/03/06/rimac-c_two-electric-hypercar-almost-2-000-horsepower/
  6. WOW Those are some Big Ass 1970's style doors. Hope they do not sag with age and you do not have to get into a tight parking spot. Talk about hard time opening and closing them.
  7. I wish I had access to the paid sites that do record and publish that info, but the only fact I am making is that we, the USA cannot consume all the Lease returns and as such, they get sold off in many ways, mostly on the wholesale market and shipped over seas which keeps prices here up.
  8. Nice looking car, like the Matt Black. Tired of the Coupe on everything look. But this follows the rest of the MB family and will sell to the performance folks. Decent update on the 4 door sedan.
  9. You just cannot see the bigger picture. Cost here are cheaper than Germany. MB builds more than they can sell and exports the new auto's, at the same time, there is still only a limited market for the Lease returns and as such must unload the lease returns too. As such, 3rd party buys from the wholesale market that MB unloads into and at the same time, many export companies that export these auto's to 3rd world countries. It is a common business even for American auto's.
  10. For years even American lease returns were exported to other markets. How else do you account for the disappearance of all the Hummers off American Roads. GM Exported them to other markets where they could sell them at a profit and get the tree huggers from using it in the news and giving a black eye to GM over the Hummer. Exporting used lease returns has been a big business in North America for a long time to other markets. MB cannot sell all their lease returns themselves and turns to the wholesale business to unload the lease returns. In turn many end up on 3rd party lots or export companies going to China, Arab states and elsewhere in the 3rd world countries. http://www.autoremarketing.com/wholesale/mercedes-benz-financial-converts-two-live-auctions-exclusive-online-high-line-sales You want to get a real understanding of MB leaseing over purchase, just check out their current Financial Statements for their MB Financial Services LLC, a wholey owned subdivision of Diamler for North America. 11. What a sad waste of a car name. This has a certain Bugatti look on the front end but is totally devoid of any style. The Supra that we remember from the 80's and 90's at least had some style much like the Skyline R33 and 3R34. Now the current Skyline is Dead car rolling to me.
  12. Mostly to OUTSIDE this country. Interesting is that BMW exports 70% of the cars it built in the US outside. MB exports 50%. http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2012/12/americas-hot-export-article-import-cars/ That above is just the new auto's, surprised to see plenty of exporting of the used auto's to China where they sell for new prices here but are used. Clearly MB and BMW cannot sell all their Lease returns, so exporting they go.
  13. Weird Wheel arches, ugly predator mouth grill and just something cartoony about the back end along with the terrible Dash design that I hate. The biggest fail here is a NA 2.0L 4 banger with 2 electric motors only gives you an additional 8HP and AWD. Something just really seems to be missing here. This is a Hybrid CUV FAIL to me.
  14. Driving Feel? The current bugs have no driving feel, they are a mush mobile. Vague steering and no road carving capabilities. Commuter auto for the uninspired driver. Your awesome Jeep has more driving feel than the bug. Glad you liked your lady bug, I will stick with my SS for carving, driving excitement. My SUV's for people and load carrying capacity. Glad you like the VW Lady Bugs, someone has too I guess, but the sales trend is showing it is dying.
  15. My Dad had a bug when he married my mom and realized with 2 people in it it was not a couple car let alone a family car. Since then, most people look at the Bug as a hippie auto that really is limited in it's use. For a single guy like you, glad you loved your bug and could use it to go camping in for one person. Kinda like the Mini Cooper, very limited use for more then 1 for sure 2 people due to it's size and while it had it's day in regards to Herbie the Love Bug series, that day is gone and I really do not see a future for the bug or Mini.
  16. Most go for Nothing as ALWAYS! Repair alone on Mercedes leaves them DEAD ON ROAD and then scrapped up into a trash heap. There is a common sense reason as to why MB is the largest Lease company in the auto world. No one would dare buy one, excluding current company.
  17. This still is one of the weirdest CUV/SUVs I have seen. The type of auto just does not work with the Ubber Luxury car thing in my opinion.
  18. If it was not an EV with total auto driving, you would be loving it just like you loved your soulless bland roomless bug.
  19. Very nice looking, one of the best I have seen out of VW. Love the spec of the EV system and range of the battery pack.
  20. I give up the AWD, for the stunning interior, greater room, refinement levels and all-around usability that the ATS does have. On top of better performance and value at a lower cost to maintain and own.
  21. I deeply as an Engineer respect what goes into making an auto fast, but when a company has not really changed their auto's or brought anything ground breaking new to the industry, then they deserve the who cares, no big deal. Porsche is there right now, their new change will come with the Mission E and that platform.
