  1. Lets take the prices CCAP has listed,

    Tesla 3 - $35,000

    Battery Option - $8,500

    AWD Option - $5,000

    Premium Package $3,000

    Air Suspension $2,500

    Cold Weather Package $1,000

Total Tesla Price - $55,000 for an AWD Electric with 300 mile range and the rest of the goodies.

It will sell if this is what they offer, but it will also be put up against the Bolt and VW 225 mile range EV they are showing at Paris auto show.

Interesting is that VW is saying a 15 min charge time for their new EV. Based on their 800 volt charging system that is going into the Porsche Mission E.

    To quote:

" Speaking to German newspaper WirtschaftWoche (Industry and Economy Week) recently, Volkswagen chairman Herbert Diess said the car would have the outside dimensions of the Golf but offer the interior space of the larger Passat. It will be the first car built on the company’s latest MEB chassis, specifically designed for all electric cars like the BUDD-e concept that appeared at the Consumer Electronics Show last January. Diess says it should be market ready in late 2018 or early 2019. "

i've not had any issues with my AMD builds, if you have, that's too bad. and your issues have seemed to deem AMD parts, junk.

why would i change platforms that would cost me $200+ when i could upgrade to a newer chip, and possibly have more money than i started with, like Frogger gets.

I guess i was asking for a good reason not to do this, but i wasn't asking if i should go to INTEL...

I am interested in ZEN, but that's not out for awhile longer and not part of this debate.

I am glad you have not had any issues and are happy with the performance. As long as the performance meets your needs that is great and I say go for it.

For me doing virtualization and graphic rendering in videos, AMD does not cut it and at this point Intel has really surpassed AMD.

If your happy with it then as you say like Frogger pointed out, it might just be a good deal if you can truly upgrade and sell your used CPU for the prices stated. What some people think they can get on the used market and what really happens is two different things.

You asked for input and a few of us feel Intel is worth the added money to invest in and move over too.

Your choice, I wish you the best on what you decide.

So much wrong here I don't even know where to begin.

    Just a lot of 'no'.

Start at the beginning of what you think is wrong as I see this all around me every day, homes that can barely pay their mortgage with high end luxury auto's going paycheck to paycheck. When all the lease auto's come back in the prices are depressed.

Good deals for those of us willing to buy a lease return with full warranty.

We have alrady seen the auto industry based on leases and big discounts hit record sales only to have it follow by a depressed market. This will repeat itself again and again.

  4. Very cool, I used to enjoy building from scratch my own desktops and now later in life due to family, senior parents, etc. I review for the best workstation class unit around and max it out with memory, SSD boot drives that are mirrored for failover capability and a decent raid set for my data which really boils down to my controller card making mirror copies of the drives so I can always access my data fast.

I think it will be interesting to see what this flagship is.  Good idea not to make it a sedan as the S-class is unbeatable.

@smk4565 I am going to only state the obvious, Cadillac thought they could never be beat and coined the term standard of the world.

The S-Class is Beatable, nothing is perfect and nothing stays the best for ever.

It might not be Cadillac, but I can tell you that some car company someplace is going to come along and beat the snot out of your unbeatable S-Class and your gonna be left looking like this! :o :palm:

So just be ready cause some day will come.

  6. Cool that they have given it a competing TTV6 as they focus on Cadillac and others. Car is nice but clearly you can still see the Ford roots and that to me shows as a we could not think of anything original from our past to inspire us and so we copied the Jaguar look and tweaked it to try and give it a little distance from Ford.

I hope folks like it but to me just Meh!

you 2 just don't get it. lol.

@loki Please explain what we do not get, you asked for everyone's input, we gave you ours. How do we not get it?

You have a product, that product does not work well on Linux, Windows, what ever you want to run on it and it causes more time spent troubleshooting than just working. How is going with a platform that just works with minimal driver issues / quality issues ends in us not getting it.

    Please enlighten us!

  8. People wanting to be in the jones jones race of upping their friends by one will lease to get into a higher level auto than to accept that they can only really afford X. This will cause a bigger increase in debt and in lower residuals plus a glut once these low miled used auto's hit the market.

In 2-3 years I expect another auto correction of poor sales and a flood of auto's on the market.

And I thought parking in Montreal was a bitch....

All you get in Montreal is just a 30-40 dollar ticket.

Seattle if you park without paying it is $89 dollar fine. Park without paying and leave it overnight, $259 fine and you have to call the PoPo to come unlock your ride.

Seattle has decided everyone needs to ride mass transit or a bike and as such has reduced greatly the number of parking spots on the streets forcing people to use the expensive $45 a day parking lots or just not come into the city.

Lucky for me, the company I work for pays for my monthly bus pass and I can get in and out on express buses to the north end. Minimizing my time in a idiot run city.

    Dave (or anyone) ~

Has anyone any links to .cd relative to vehicle speed?

What continues to catch my eye is ".26 cd" and "inner city use".
There has to be some sort of chart of speed plotted against .cd and a resulting 'mpg' out there somewhere.
A brief wikipedia perusal turned up nada.

I do think it's an excellent idea to try and electrify large / commercial trucks. Go for it.

Sadly the EV Fleet web site is sparse on additional info. I spent hours going over all their news releases and links to info to get what I posted here. Will once I get my honey do list done today come back and see if I can find more info.

EV Fleet truck is not the best looking, but seems to hit a number of right numbers for use by many that really do not need a full size or HD truck.

I read this the other day and I see no reason for any commercial use truck to not attempt EV or at least hybrid-ness. The only one that I didn't understand was the top one where they replace the bed with solar panels..but then it's basically just a useless single cab truck..

I would really like to see large companies like FedEx, UPS, USPS going more and more electric if their routes allow for it. I think that would be a big push in going more and more electric and on top of the vehicles themselves just getting more humans behind the wheels of them will benefit the other civilian EVs like the Bolt.

The truck with the solar panels in the bed area was actually to show off that they had a solar option to enhance range. If you get the truck with a hauling box on back and add the solar panels on top you gain 40 miles more range depending on use case. At least the solar options could go to running heater or cooling of the cab without affecting the battery range.

  12. I will be honest that I have never been a fan of AMD. I have tried them multiple times and no matter the OS, the experiance has been one of hell.

I agree with FapTurbo, save up and buy Intel.

Costco has some great deals on DELL and other company desktops. I love the number of desktops with 32 and 64gb of ram. Really allows the OS to fly along with the rest of your programs.

Gobs of torque would help in minimizing downshifts though, which would be nice.

@ccap41You hit the nail on the head and what 99% of the driving population really wants and needs. Torque that gets them going quickly so as to not be a hinderance on the roads and torque to keep them going to minimize downshifting at higher speeds so they stay efficient in the 4th, 5th, 6th or what ever final gear they have.

EV addresses this totally and for the bulk of drivers, a 200+ EV will take care of almost all their driving needs.

Love Tesla and their new 100kWh battery pack, 315 miles is sweet, I can see us breaking the 400 mile range battery pack by the end of 2017.
