  1. Doubt it was profitable or ever will be. They stole billions from the american name plates and 60 cares cannot turn a profit on the 4 billion they spent so far on the over rated garbage.
  2. ^^^ What you say is so true, why do I drive all full size SUV's? Because no cars are comfy for tall big guys like me and the include Cadillac CTS. Problem with CTS is that once I get it so I can drive the car comfy on a road trip or around town, no one can sit behind me. No room. So escalade wins out. Build true full size sedans and you can see the cars start selling but also fix the biggest problem with all size cars, interior back room especially when you have us 6'6" tall 280lb guys up front. I also believe all sales are down as Tesla 3 and BOLT are making people rethink the type of auto they have for driving and what they want for the future. Plus sales were so strong last year and no sustainable, so sales have to drop. This will affect especially MB and BMW where build everything at every level in every little nich is also not sustainable. Soon Cadillac will be better than MB or BMW when sales continue to drop off and they have to look at what models to kill off to stop the bleeding.
  3. At EMC World, so working tradeshow, very little time to post.
  4. Sergio can now truly destroy another brand. Stupid board.
  5. I originally hated the Terrain but now I own one and come to love it. While I know it is the same thing as the Nox it just does not have that feminine look. Hey I don't highlight my hair and I still got a pair, what can I say? I have always preferred the GMC styling even if it was just the grills. It always appeared less cluttered and more refined. Though the new Chevy truck nose is damn good looking in mono chrome. LOL, I know you still have a Pair. But I have to disagree with you on the chevy truck, I still think the full size GMC is way better looking. I totally agree on the fem look of the Chevy CUV product line. Looks are subjective and you have yours and I have mine. My point is the GMC was a slam dunk before now I would at least have to think about it. Even my GMC buddies have said the same thing. Two of them have bought GMC full sized trucks in the last 2 years and both said they may have gone over to Chevy if they had this model out. As for the fem look 50% of buyers today are women so it makes sense. But with that said women like trucks too. That is why my wife wanted the Terrain. She grew up driving her dads truck often. I love it when she wants to opt for the largest wheel packages too as she said they look better. This takes the pressure off of me when I want that option. LOL! We got the 19" on the Terrain because that is what she wanted and and it is was I was going to push for if she had not wanted them. Powerful engines are also something we are both in agreement with. She has never turned down a V6 option or Supercharged option. If there was a V8 she would want it too. Now keep in mind she is not into cars like I am but we have the same wants when we buy. She also hates minivans and can shoot a gun with a high degree of accuracy. I was lucky to find her. That Rocks hyper I too have a wife like that so very lucky to have found her.
  6. I Dare Cadillac to finally deliver a V Series Escalade ESV!

  8. I like a truck look, but then I am Blah on the Chevy Version and love the GMC current look. Wonder if these engines will be part of the new GM Powertrain lineup?
  9. So could this be the Google EV Self-Driving Auto the reports have been talking about?
  10. Jerk move or not, this will sell, but honestly does nothing for me. Plus Sergio is already raping FCA and overpaid to boot. So I hope this fails. The board needs to eject that man.
  11. ^^^ Yea, VW best auto's seem to be powered by a Corvette engine. Crazy how many people are bidding on a corvette powered 1971 bug.
  12. ^^^ ??? ^^^ ??? ^^^ ??? McFly, what are we missing in your comment, I do not get it?
  13. Kinda my thought as well....but do not count on them being built here.... I take it as we will build them in the US along our auto's also.

  17. Ebay, the world of wonderful discoveries has this latest addition, a tubular frame with corvette suspension and powertrain wrapped in a VW Bug Body. Your for $17,000 or join in the bidding war. Ebay Posting Quoting the posting of Description: Professionally built Volkswagen Beetle body with no rust, on a custom-made tubular steel frame and Corvette transverse leaf spring front and rear suspension. It has a Z4 400-hp Chevy 350 cu.in. V8 with a Corvette tuned port injection (TPI) system, aluminum driveline, Dana 36 rear end, and 16" aluminum wheels with Z-rated tires. It has a 3" dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. With the widened and flared fenders, this bug is 9" wider than the standard '71 Super Beetle, which gives it a bolder stance and impressive appearance. Tan leather interior.
  18. They are sure going ot have to come up with a better looking auto than above that is for sure and better have an SUV/CUV which is what americans are buying.
  19. I can appreciate that sentiment, and I'll not argue it… but I'd occasionally trade 5 minutes of indecision in the wax aisle @ Pep Boys vs. hours of fabricating & welding a dual exhaust system from scratch. LOL, So very true, something very worthwhile about creating with ones hands. I love to weld also, there is satisfaction in saying look, not pretty but damn, I built that.!
  20. G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com $1.4 Billion incentive to go Electric Auto in Germany According to CNN Money, Germany's government has joined forces with Daimler, Volkswagen and BMW to offer up to $1.2 Billion Euros ($1.4 Billion US) as rebates to purchase electric auto's. $4,000 euros ($4,500 US) for pure EVs and $3,000 euros ($3,400 US) for Plug-in Hybrids in today's conversion of currency. Germany has announced that they are also inviting all US and Asian auto companies to take part in this rebate program to sell electric based auto's. Germany lags behind the U.K, France, Italy and Spain in electric auto sales. Currently around 50,000 EVs are on the roads in germany. This program is designed to get 400,000 electric auto sales in the near future with the goal of 1 million on the roads by 2020 and 5 million by 2030 in Germany. Experts have warned that these targets are not reachable. Yet Germany has pointed to GM and Tesla with the BOLT/VOLT and Tesla 3 as examples. This program is only available on autos costing $60,000 euros or less. This is where the German auto companies have to drive efficiency to get their basic EV below this price point. Currently German Auto companies are struggling to compete with foreign rivals in the electic car market and the German government has committed an additional $300 million euros to electrify the country's highway system for charging saying they will have 15,000 charging stations installed for quick charging in the next 36 months. Germany has also committed $100 million to ensure 20% of all government auto's are electric.
  21. G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com Tesla Model 3 to be Unprofitable per UBS Per the Street insider web site, UBS analyst, Colin Langan is stated as saying for the Tesla 3 to be break even they will need to sell at $50,000 each. Until Li-Ion chemistry costs drop and Tesla can get economy of scale in building auto's, the ability for Tesla to make a profit let alone break even on the Tesla 3 auto is going to be impossible. This story is based on the UBA analyst hosting a call with Jon Bereisa, President and CEO of Auto Lectrification. Jon is a 35 year veteran of GM responsible for the VOLT program as well as the EV1 program that they killed off. Interesting is Jon is a conservative individual and Tesla called in to defend and call Jon wrong as Jon says Tesla's cost per battery pack is about $260 per kWh and GM for the BOLT is $215 per kWh. This is in comparison to GM who says the BOLT will be $145 per kWh and Tesla who says their cost will be $190 per kWh. Interesting is that the story goes on to say that the Analyst is very skeptical about Tesla's cost estimates after talking to MIT and others in the industry who say at the price Tesla is stating cannot include factory variables, engineering plus R&D, overhead, SG&A, etc. Based on stated facts from auto makers around the world of needing 45-55% markup to break even, this would imply that the Tesla 3 would have to sell by some at $45-48k and others say $50k.
