  2. Awesome list Drew, it is very surprising as I have also never thought about all the segments. I am sure many others here have not either.
  3. You think ANY X3 buyer is worried about drag racing a mustang? You think that is even on their radar? At $54k, you're at Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit V8 pricing.... a vehicle just as fast, far more capable off-road, more luxurious, and roomier. If you spend $53k on a BMW X3, you just have to admit that you're only after the badge. You are the most clearly biased, arrogant, condescending, closed-minded admin I have ever seen. You ask if any X3 buyer is worried about drag racing, and then in the same post talk about a Grand Cherokee's off-road capability as if anybody actually exploits it. Unbelievable. ?? A whole lot of people buy Grand Cherokees for their off-road abilities regardless of if they ever actually use them. The off-road capability of the GC is a marketing point that sells the vehicle and is a major selling point in the snow-belt. Approximately zero people buy an X3 so they can beat Ecoboost Mustangs at stop-light drag races... if a buyer is worried about that, they get a 3-series instead. Anyone else here think those are unfair, biased, or closed-minded statements to make? Lets also throw in the amount of people who buy Land Rovers for their capabilities and never take them off road and the worst work out they get is going to the ski resort. I doubt anyone thinks about drag racing their supercharged version.
  4. The X3 is a puff case and could not hold a match to my AWD SS Trailblazer. Driving dynamic, interior room, fit n finish, etc. I have been in many of my coworkers X3's and they are badge snobs and I have to shake my head at the way overpriced garbage the auto's are. Their driving pedigree is vastly over rated. Lol, if you think your Trailblazer has better driving dynamics and fit and finish than an X3 (or anything in this class, really), you are ate up with stupidity. You Clearly have never Driven an SS Trailblazer or know anything about them so let me educate you. AWD SS Trailblazer is a Corvette with an SUV body. Limited production each year during the trailblazer product cycle. This is an SUV that has 400HP 400lbs of torque and has no problem hitting 150mph, stable tight and can eat up roads. An X3 cannot compare to it.
  5. WOW, he must like bland non inspiring autos. His fiancee has a Toyota Sequoia for hauling their kids..I think the Escalade may be his wife's car. (He has two houses in the neighborhood, he can't divorce his wife as she is the co-owner of his business). WOW, so lives with new girl and still married to wife due to business? Interesting life.
  6. Very cool, other than the ignition switch penalty and settlement costs, it was a good quarter for GM.
  7. CR is well know for their love of all things Asian first, then Tesla, German and last has always been it's home team the USA.

  10. Very cool and Exciting, are they using speakers to give it an engine sound when it is pure electric? The video seems to imply a false engine sound.
  11. Being that Hennessey has a 750HP, 800HP and 1000HP option for the 2016 CTS-V, I suspect GM can easily top the Hellcat and have the worlds fastest production Luxury auto. http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/2016-cadillac-ctsv.html

  19. G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com Alternative Fuels & Propulsion in the News So the news has had some interesting stories this past few weeks in regards to GM and Honda getting closer as they co-develop Hydrogen auto's and self driving: http://www.hydrogenfuelnews.com/honda-and-gm-seek-to-expand-partnership-on-hydrogen-fuel-cells-and-driverless-vehicles/8525101/?utm_source=WW+Clean+Cities+News+Digest+--+October+20%2C+2015&utm_campaign=WW+Clean+Cities+News+Digest+--+October+20%2C+2015+&utm_medium=email According to the story, 2020 is the year that both GM and Honda will release for public purchase Hydrogen auto's and 2017 both plan to start selling driverless auto's. The future is near for those that cannot put down facebook or twitter to interact with the world and the planet they live on. The next story is from the green car report that shows that people who have EV's love em but would not buy them. Leasing is the way to go as the response is that auto companies will be making drastic updates on the EV's each year. The only exception to this is Tesla with their software updated system so people who bought one years ago can have the same software updates and features of the new ones. Currently the story states there are 7 EV's that lease for less than $200 a month for 36 months. The cheapest lease being the Fiat 500e which leases for $82.75 per month for 36 months. http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1100513_electric-car-drivers-love-em-but-dont-buy-em-why-leasing-rules?utm_source=WW+Clean+Cities+News+Digest+--+October+20%2C+2015&utm_campaign=WW+Clean+Cities+News+Digest+--+October+20%2C+2015+&utm_medium=email The final story is a very interesting one developing in Europe headed by Norway, where the governments push to have 50,000 EV's on the road by 2017 was reached in April of 2015 and as of September 2015 had reached 66,000. With the VW Diesel scandal it would seem Norwegians are taking advantage of the large government subsidy to buy EV's, especially Tesla's. They are also loving the government's free use of toll roads, free parking, free bridges and tunnels and free ferry tickets if you are an EV. With the average cost of charging an EV being only $1 and Petro at over $6 per liter, clearly with the high price of an auto in Norway, this kind of savings is having a big impact on getting people to go EV. Here is the current subsidies in Europe. Full story can be found here: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/17/business/international/norway-is-global-model-for-encouraging-sales-of-electric-cars.html?_r=1&utm_source=WW+Clean+Cities+News+Digest+--+October+20%2C+2015&utm_campaign=WW+Clean+Cities+News+Digest+--+October+20%2C+2015+&utm_medium=email
  20. Yes that is the Europe Cadillac BLS. As Drew says, that car will not die and now it will become the National Car of Turkey. Who says Cadillac is not a Global car of everyone!
  21. Why do we have to wait for craftsmanship and quality? The ATS and CTS promised to be as well built as the Germans and Cadillac said they would out perform the Germans. That didn't happen, the sales reflect it. I don't think the Cadillacs are overpriced, as I have said many times they are still priced below the Germans (and Lexus) but they aren't getting the sales. So something must be wrong. Personally, I think they could price the CTS-V at $49,995 and the E-class will outsell it 3-1. Horsepower per dollar isn't why Cadillac loses the battle, there are many reasons beyond that. On the CTS I think the engine comparisons are not as bad as with the ATS. The step up from the turbo 4 on all the German small cars and the Jaguar XE is a supercharged or Turbo Six, all those cars put out 320+ lb-ft of low end torque. That is where the 3.6 V6 is out gunned. The CTS has the V-sport which is good power for the money, but I think also rwd only. At some point Cadillac has to break the brand image problem. That needs done on powertrain, interior, build quality, warranty, dealer service, styling, number of model lines, halo cars, marketing, etc. It is multi-front battle they have to fight. A good example is Car and Driver just tested the Lincoln MKX, which was $63,000, and regardless of how good the product might be, why would anyone buy that over a Mercedes or BMW? Cadillac has the same problem, if you have $65,000 to spend, why not buy the German car, rather than a Cadillac and have to justify to people why you did it. Pure and Simple, Why send your hard earned money and jobs over to a country that if it had won WWII your grandfather would probably be dead and you would not exist. No apology to those that love German or Asian auto's, but I believe in the USA, Believe we need to keep the profits here and make sure my neighbor has a job too. Only through investing in our own production of products, keeping the profits here and demanding higher quality will we ensure the financial success of the US. Keep sending your money over seas and before you know it you could have no job due to the work being overseas at a lower price. The US needs to be competitive on quality, price, and originality to stand out. Stand Tall and Support your Country first where possible before sending your hard earned money over seas.
  22. Plus keep in mind that Japan is all about being a team player and not rocking the boat. Most employees would go along with their boss who says this is awesome, the best, etc. I doubt anyone was willing to rock the boat and go against the upper executives who seem to be fine with the style, name, ultra conservative blah style of forgettable auto's.
  23. Over priced garbage. PASS.
