    Escalade = World Class Full Size SUV for the people. I do not hear that about any other luxury SUV even the Military ancient G that MB still makes.

    Here you are wrong, MB Sprinters were not on sale as MB badged vans, They started out as Dodge vans and were known to be garbage. Once the MB badge showed up a few years back as Dodge dropped them, it will only be time before people start to question MB. It took 20 years of idiot mgmt decisions at Cadillac for them to go down from the standard of the year. Lousy 80's and 90's models and yet in the early 80's people said the same thing about Cadillac and now they are fighting to rebuild. MB will sell now but another 3-5 years from now I would not be surprised to see them struggle. Both MB and BMW are making a HUGE MISTAKE by not learning from the mistakes of US auto companies from the 80's. History is to learn and in this case, they should be selling under a different badge than to sell all as one. Does not work. You yourself have stated that Toyota has not been able to crack it all and so they went with Lexus. Takes time to build an image up, but only a few years of stupid mgmt greed to tear it down. MB and BMW are in the greed mode and will fall. Mark my words. They are ignoring History.

    SMK, So I would like you to explain how you would respond to this line of talk. I went to the finance department of our division. Mostly Asian folks, that being Chinese, Korean, Indian, and the rest white. I ask them what they thought when they think of Mercedes-Benze? Answer for majority was High End Luxury, wealthy class of drivers. I asked them what they thought of and showed them the MB Sprinter. Answer was for the most part, why is MB doing commercial vans? I asked them what they thought of a 20K or 18K version of MB and then showed them pictures of MB CLA 250 and GLA 250. Universal response was why is a Luxury company trying to compete against Ford and Chevy? The end result was they started out thinking of MB as a Elite Luxury line and at the end they said they would look elsewhere for an elite auto that was not competing against Ford and Chevy or any other entry or mid tier car company. This is the self destruction that MB is doing to itself here in North America. Europe is obviously fine with MB selling from entry level FWD appliances to ubber luxury auto's. North America expects Luxury auto companies to stay luxury and not move down market. This is why everyone here feels what MB and BMW is doing is wrong and self destructive.

    which engine? I found this on a couple jeep forums and on a euro used car site so I think this is pretty accurate for the Europe Diesel version. 2.8L turbo diesel with 197-hp and 339 lb-ft of torque

    I have to disagree with you. This will prove to be Porsche Boon Doggle and an executives failure costing someone their job. This is a big waste of resources for them but since they are flush with cash I guess they can afford to waste money. Waste of resources? Yes, I pretty much think you are right, but tell me you don't want to see the 918 Spyder. I'm sure that a lot of people wanted to see this car without a rooftop and, as you said, Porsche can afford losing some money just to meke its clients/fans happy. You are new around here so I give you some thoughts. I am 6'6" tall, I do not fit into anything they make and honestly would rather have a Cadillac V edition of the Escalade more than a small tiny 2 door coffin of a car that Porsche makes. They have some interesting design language but I will never be a customer of their over priced over rated products. 6'6" tall? In this case I think a Marauder is definitely more suitable for you. How was I supposed to know that? Very True, It is why all I have is full size SUV's, Escalade ESV Platinum, Hummer H2, Suburban SLE, Durango, Trailblazer SS AWD which is my version of a Porsche. Course Durango and Trailblazer are mid size but very comfy.

    Last thing I would want out of a Van is to be car like! Van like SUV's are popular for their High Seating position and ability to haul stuff. As such they need to be more stout than cars. If you want a car ride with more capacity, go to the CUV product line as most CUV's can out haul a car and yet have the car position.

    Sadly not impressed. Guess I was hoping for more of a Hummer style. This is just badging for the most part and does not go far enough IMHO.

    Hopefully it will be more reliable than the Junk Fiat has sold for the last 40 years and during their first attempt in the US. So far, Fiat is striking out with their product lines and quality. I would say shelve this project and put the money into the Transmissions of the Chrysler products to build a reliable item first. Build quality on what they have then build pie in the sky dream cars. I am not happy with the amount of problems coming out of new Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram products and the dismal quality out of the Fiat line right now. They are hurting themselves long term with the garbage they currently sell.

    Looking back at it, I think what irks you is what bothers me about it. Looks a bit cheap as an after thought generic plastic grill. They could have done something a bit better I think.

    Totally agree with the base line of thinking here. Super-cars are not super any longer from the main auto makers. They are all very over priced bland junk. Take a look at what some of the smaller guys have done to Corvettes and now you are talking. Even the Challenger is more amazing to me than the super-cars from Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo, etc.

    To me the Camero looks like a Shark from the side profile they are showing. The Malibu is too hard due to the blackness to really tell if it is evolutionary or revolutionary. Have to wait and see.

    SMK you will not get any disagreement from many of us here who do not like the CT naming system and wish they had gone back to their heritage names as a superior way to catalog their auto class. Escalade is a perfect example of how it has a brand name and Cadillac will be stupid in the future if they kill this name plate to go with the stupid CUV names.

    You have a right to believe this, but my own brother in-law bought MB Sprinters for his Appliance repair business based on the thought they would be better quality than what he got from Frod and GM Vans. He found them to be the most un-reliable vans he has ever owned. After many transmission failures, plastic interior pieces that break and items as simple as the radio and hvac stopped working. Once the warranty ran out, he has been trading them in and going back to Ford and GM for service vans. On top of this for Washington state we do get allot of rain but we do not use road salt during the winter and most auto's here do not rust like the east coast and yet the Sprinters had early rust all over. His experience here is not alone. Many companies here are not happy with the poor quality of the sprinters and they are no longer even purchased by the local cities as the dependability is poor. This is why myself and others have stated MB should have done their commercial line and lower cost line as another label. This WILL HURT MB brand in the US as a Luxury Auto Maker. This is very different here than in Europe where the whoring out of S-Class and E-Class auto's as Taxis is accepted as normal practice. You do not find luxury like that here in the taxi fleets or even the bulk of the private car fleet. I give MB 5 to 7 years before this comes back to haunt them with hurting sales.

    The mercedes-Benze just built a new store and moved from their old place last year to the new one in summer of 2014 and now this year it still looks this way with tons of Sprinter Vans out front and the cars up on the roof parking lot. Bing View and was the same on Goodle Map too. Google Street View, Not impressive for all the Low end sheet metal, but I will say I wish my cadillac dealership had a building like this.

    We'll the credit for the box delete is a bit disappointing but I can see this being the new delivery and service truck for the industry. Imagen your Oklahoma steaks being delivered to your door in this with a freezer back on it. Or the appliance repair man showing up with a service box on the back full of spare parts. I can also if it was 4x4 liek Zl-1 stated see camper conversions for single or couples. This would be a big hit. GM is probably playing it a bit too safe since they only have assumptions on the up take of these.

    So the 2nd car to the right must be the updated Camero? Kinda looks a bit Mustang like but also does not seem to have that fat wide look. more lean and sleek. A bit of a Shark side Profile look.
