  1. LOL THAT was NOT the point of this thread. I nerded it up back then, and you guys are nerding it up now. What we SHOULD have done, then and now, is just sit back, relax and ENJOY the jokes...
  2. UPDATE: Tesla phoquing drivers...with more money than brains, dishing out 10 thousand motherphoquing dollars who think autonomous driving and autopilot means the same phoquing thing. (granted...Tesla marketing asshats brilliantly and mistakenly have falsely named their system this way) I havent encountered one of these idiots, yet. But I am apprehensive knowing that these humans actually exist.
  3. I remember this thread. I flubbed it back then as I was tooo nerdy about the whole thing. Ill fix it. Chevrolet Bolt 149 kW of pure electric electricity and 360 Nm of pure neutral neutron torques. So a millennial could use the Bolt's navi system to get to the nearest Starbucks because regardless if that millennial drives by Starbucks EVERYDAY, he is more into shytty electronic gadgets than he is with sleepers anyway...
  4. Just a random thought... EV conversions that I think are interesting...

  6. I was looking at past threads to see if I could bring them back to life with relevant content to contribute. The Lucid Air thread was funny because I was thinking about why is it that I like a jellybeaned styled vehicle all day yesterday when I came to a conclusion only to stumble across a thread on it of which a poster thought it resembled what could be an Oldsmobile product. Anyway. I have always like the Pontiac Rageous concept of the late 1990s. I thought it be a great vehicle for it to be conceived today. It might have been a tad wild styling wise and toooo far ahead of its time then, but as a CUV/SUV alternative, slightly raised in stance to BE an SUV type vehicle and with just a tad softer front-end styling, I think it could work in today's world. Side profile is spot on for today's vehicles. I think GMC could use this...as an EV. Possibly even badged as a HUMMER by GMC. Picture the HUMMER EV drivetrain in this machine... With that Freedom mode. Phoquing rocket ship to go anywhere...really really fast. And no terrain would be a challenge. Competitors would have nothing on it. Lucid Air Porsche Taycan Possible Taycan Cross Turismo Audi E Tron Possible Faraday FF91
  7. The downvotes are a a bastard of a thing... 1. A post not agreed with getting a downvote WITHOUT additional explanation is maddening... ESPECIALLY on a fact based post or thread If the downvoter could express his/her reasons as to why he disagrees, then a clear discussion arises and the whole point to the forums gets achieved... If not...its just trolling A troll gets to be exposed when PROPER discourse is being made. 2. If a downvote is being made on an OPINION piece...than that is just wrong. And kinda rude. Which again is just trolling by the downvoter. 3. Then a pattern gets established when a downvoter is CONSTANTLY downvoting. TROLLING gets to be the mantra of downvoting...all. the. time. In my honest opinion...TROLLING in a public forum is MORE detrimental than talking about politics or religion. IF PROPER discourse WITHOUT trolling is made, EVEN when politics and/or religion is THE main topic, then there are NO problems. (Im not even going to mention uneducated-ness and close mindedness because IF PROPER discourse is being made...then civilized discussions are being made...no PHOQUING NEED TO DOWNVOTE...) The up votes is yes...a feel good treat. Its human nature to feel good about things. A troll gets his goodies off by pi$$ing people off... Again...its OK to disagree...and to downvote...but PROPER discourse should ACCOMPANY a downvote. And a DECENT rebuttal should ensue. If not...its trolling. A whole bowl of not good...
  8. Ah...yes! I see (GM) Oldsmobile W-Body written all over it now that youve mentioned it. I also see 4rth gen Trans Am from the side profile. (Dont ask. Explaination in the random thoughts thread...) All in all, Lucid Air could easily pass off as a General Motors product of the 1990s that has evolved to today. The rounded aerodynamic body lines. The C Pillars. The rounded front and rear quarter panels. GM products from the late 1980s to the early 2000s all had that kind of styling. Yeah...I feel right at home when looking at the Lucid Air. I like it a lot.

  10. Im excited to see these platforms come to life. Im excited to see what new forms of vehicles engineers and car designers could come up with. IF the new generation of "drivers" are as enthusiastic about cars as we are and WANT different cars to DRIVE and NOT be what I think they will be...just mindless dolts not caring about what they are driving and be seen driven in...to which these new platforms will just be shytty isolation pods... Like SMK just said. From Corvettes to panel trucks ALL on the same scalable platform. The sheet metal changes. There will NOT be ANY confinement due to an engine and transmission and all that "old" tech that comes with ICE taking up that space. The electric motors and batteries are all tucked away from the passenger compartment freeing up all the real estate in the cabin, and the exterior dimensions, well, the designers could go wild... But...like I said...all the space gained in the cabin, and the mindless dolts would probably prefer to brush their teeth and brew their coffee in that shytty isolation pod on the way to work... GM's Hy-Wire at the turn of this century To what Peugeot took to the next level 20 years later. On a skate platform. With today's tech and vision

  12. Not much snowfall this year up here. The snow on the ground is not as high as other years. Its high enough though as the last 4 of the 5 snowfalls have been 5-8 inches. But that is also in a span of 7-8 weeks. No little 2 inches here and there this year in between the hard snowfalls. But it HAS been cold. 5F to -1F the last 2 weeks straight. But then again, that kinda cold is usually from mid January and lasts up until the last week of February. With a small 1-3 day break where the temps will go 23F. So...not that bad considering its phoquing winter in Quebec. What I gather is the Montreal region this year is a heck of a lot calmer than the rest of North America. Not much snow as we Montrealers like to brag about and deem superior to ya'll because we are tough to endure winter climates. And it has been that way since a decade plus now. Maybe 20 years. OK...we've had some really really cold polar vortexes in that time span, but North America in general was hit hard too. Climate change has improved the Saint Lawrence valley's winter blues. I do NOT mind that one bit. LOL I cant wait for April to kick in. My WORST time of the year is...now. From the 2nd week of January up until mid April. Its cold. Snow gets on my nerves. March is schizophrenic. One day its winter with blizzards and cold snaps and the next its spring. Teasing you and then WHAM! back to winter with a snowstorm... April is when Im looking forward too. But even April sucks as its slushy and dirty from all that melting snow and the dirt and grime...YUCK! But at least by mid-April, one could smell spring and summer kicking in.
  13. I figured out why I like the Lucid Air as much as I do. The C Pillar and rounded rear quarter panel remind me of a 4rth gen F-Body Firebird. Even if the rear quarter panel is soooo short on the Lucid and sooooo long on the Pontiac. The rake of the front windshields of both vehicles also seems to be the same angle which also lends to my illusion of sameness and hence why I like the Lucid Air...because I LOVE the 4rth gen F-Body. Its just a 4 door (EV) Trans Am in my eyes. OK...maybe its a far fetched figment of my imagination. But its still MY personal fantasy produced by MY brain that WAS NOT elicited by the use of recreational drugs, but from MY awesome natural intellect, mental capacity and wit. (Should I go with a smug emogi to show how my intelligence is somehow superior to yours? Or should I go with a hipster dufus emogi cheering to show how "innocent" I may be in the "real world"? ) Maybe Ill just go with a laughy emogi to show that this post is serious and funny at the same time instead!
  14. ^^^ On the bright side, he made his exit and didnt have to drive needlessly to the next one and back wasting precious time and gasoline...

  16. Fair enough. I cant really argue Jag's track record.
  17. As far as prettier EV cars go, Jaguar wins over Tesla, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW. The Taycan is cool and all, but its styling lends itself to be outdated shortly. The EV Macan is ugly. The iPace is waaaay prettier. Audi EVs, closely resemble their Porsche counterparts, and are prettier IMO. Mercedes and BMWs are ugly AF. Uglier than what some Tesla haterz considers Tesla EVs as ugly. Ford's Mach E surpasses anything anybody out there is doing with EVs styling wise. The Lucid Air is awesome looking. GM has some nice renderings of their future EVs and Buick's EVs in China look smashing! GM IMO has the tech to rival and surpass Tesla. GM and what it seems even Ford. Jaguar has to up their EV tech game. The Germans are waaaay behind Tesla. Jag has a chance to not only survive, but to excel in this new age. But to answer your question: The last time Jag led in those departments were in the 1960s. A loooong time ago. Before I was born. Maybe not so much in the reliability department...ever. The German's reliability hasnt hurt them though. THAT means Jag has a chance in the EV future...
  18. Not if they can engineer and produce an EV that rivals and surpasses Tesla. Quality and tech wise. As of now, Jag's quality is better than Tesla's? And even of their EVs wont surpass those of Tesla, all they have to do is make better EVs and prettier ones than the rest of the OEMs and they will be fine. EVs are the future whether we like that scenario or not....
  19. The French vid is a Quebecois dude talking about the Bolt's success in Quebec and how good of a car it is. He says its a fantastic EV for Quebec and while there is cold battery drainage, not really a huge problem. Breath of fresh air when all we hear about EVs is TESLA TESLA TESLA. The Bolt does NOT get a fair share in the spot light. And I posted this video in here because the Bolt handles the job as well, if not better than the Rogue. As a counterpoint to the Rogue.
  20. He complained? LOL Its not really karma...its having a discussion. Price was brought up, but we all know that EVs as of now are higher than their ICE counterparts. DUH! But...aside from price, whether EV or ICE, the Bolt, Rogue, Trax, KONA ICE or EV...all stack up nicely to each other to be compared. They are NATURAL competitors. The issue of price AND AWD was brought up. And the lack there of on the Bolt. I posted a REAL WORLD video of the FWD Bolt to show that FWD is NOT a hinderance.
  21. No AWD. No problem!
  22. At this point, Jaguar really doesnt have much choice either. The industry as a whole is going ALL EV because PLANET EARTH as a whole is going ALL EV.
