  1. The only car I could tell who was driving was the Porsche. And like you, it was a Boomer. A 70-ish year old man. He looked good and proud driving it. He deserved a high five from me! ?
  2. I had the day off. Went to Mount Royal (cemetery) to visit my parents. Beautiful day. Sun. Not a cloud in the sky. 68F. 1. light blue C4 Corvette convertible near the mountain top. 2. light brown, air cooled mid '80s Targa Porsche 911 on the outskirts of downtown Montreal. Griffintown. I was checking up the possible location of where the Tampa Bay Rays might be playing when we have them. 3. Not one, but TWO Pontiac Solstices near my neighborhood coming home. One red the other dark green.
  3. Maybe true, for today's world. Performance metrics are thrown out the window. I wonder how long that kind of debauchery will last though. Last time I checked, sales derived profits are what makes a business, any business, stay alive... I wonder when all that imaginary money dries up, and there are no more idiot investors trying to make a quick buck STOP the money faucet, I wonder what all those Wallstreet up sellers and short sellers and fast money makers and con artists and thieves and get rich quick scammers and shyte disturbers and filth of the earth will do? Tesla is not going anywhere. But they might NOT be an EV producin' entity though, if they do NOT give the world a gen two Model S and Model X and gen two Model 3 and Model Y. The Ford Mach E is getting conquest sales from Tesla... So when YOU are tooting Tesla's stock market number right now, but when GM and VW and others start rolling their EVs Tesla is still rolling with their gen one Model S, Model X, Model 3 and , It wont mean much and Im afraid Wallstreet WILL have to start lookin' at sales performance stats again... Tesla IS ahead of everybody else in EV tech. Mostly in software programming of the battery metrics. But THAT gap is QUICKLY closing from what I see Ford is doing (with the Mach E) and what GM is capable of doing with the Hummer EV. By the time the full on EV Corvette comes on about, Im thinking that is when GM would have surpassed Tesla's tech. I keep on saying it, shyte on GM all you want, but the Corvette is proof positive of what the General is capable of doing. And even Tesla hasnt accomplished what the C8 has both in terms of speed performance (The C8 is on the Model S' heels on a BASE model), mass production on an extremely expensive architecture AND turning a profit on it... You know...what Wallstreet stock prices SHOULD be judged on... In no time, GM will have plenty of EV models... doubling and almost tripling Tesla's offerings. And then what do we talk about concerning Wallstreet types wanting to see EVs and yelling from the rooftops Tesla Tesla Tesla???
  4. As was '31 to '41 and '41 to '51 Like Balthy said, we will never see a drastic change like that. It seems like every decade since the dawn of automobile time, the styling change was enormous. The '70s to the '80s was a significant downsize, and more surprisingly more squarish. From the '80s to the '90s, not only FWD, but the cars by the end of the '80s began to take a more "aerodynamic" jelly bean shape. And we have been stuck in that pattern ever since.
  5. Beat me to it Balthy. Here...the fuselage version a few years later
  6. All based on nothing but cocktails and dreams Lets be honest... GM is worth a helluva lot more than 85 billion. Just the factory at Bowling Green Kentucky where they build the Corvette is worth 93 million dollars... JUST the factory How do I figure? The factory is 1 milllion sq. feet. In Kentucky...sq foot is worth 93 bucks. https://gmauthority.com/blog/gm/gm-facilities/gm-usa-facilities/gm-bowling-green-plant/ https://www.homes.com/kentucky/what-is-my-home-worth/ (Homes...not factories. Just a quick research to prove a point) 93 million only for the damned building. Robots and paints and tools and tables and chairs could fetch more money. Then there is something called the Corvette... THAT name ALONE is worth MORE than what Tesla has as vehicles all together... Wallstreet up sellers and short sellers and fast money makers and con artists and thieves and get rich quick scammers and shyte disturbers and filth of the earth have set a price for Tesla that is high and set a price for gm that is low. Nothing more. Nothing less. While Tesla is hot as a brand, the Mustang Mach E is currently cleaning Tesla's clock, in regards to the hot EV of the moment... Ford...another company that Wallstreet wants to ignore... Dont go there about stock price worth. Its smoke and mirrors.
  7. My absolute, top favorite muscle cars from the late '60s to early '70s. Im doing 1 year for each brand. And each brand gets only 1 model. In the exact trim and colour combo as I post them 1969 Camaro Z/28 302 1973 Pontiac Trans Am SD455 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 (WITHOUT the vinyl top) 1970 Buick GSX Stage 1 1967 Ford Mustang GT500 1969 Mercury Cougar Eliminator CJ428 http://fastmusclecar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Cougar-Eliminator-dfgfg245.jpg 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440 six pack 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner Hemi
  8. I could also easily do MOPAR 426 HEMI and 440 six pack on a wide variety of MOPAR muscle. Be it a '69 or '70 GTX/Roadrunner or a '70 Challenger or a '71 Cuda. I almost forgot...a '68-'70 Charger too.
  9. yeah...well... I like an Olds 442 455 AND A Pontiac Trans Am 455 SD 455
  10. Meaning that you are debating in selling her? I was saddened when I read it.
  11. EDIT: CORRECTION: @riviera74 I re-read what you wanted to say. I misrepresented your words. You said that you wanted municipalities and state/provincial governments to spend LESS money on salt de-icing the roads for the monies spent on PROPER road maintenance. As where I initially understood that you meant that salt causes the bad stuff to happen on the roads. I finally understood what you meant... However, REGARDLESS where the money (savings) comes from... my statements dont change in that Its the corrupt system that Quebec employs that enables corrupt contractors to phoque the citizens by using sub-quality materials in the first place. Its the lack of a proper maintenance routine. And sometimes its the lack of funding because road work new or old is expensive and (Quebec) has other, projects in mind where monies were and are spent. Uselessly or out of more important issues. Like separation from Canada(not anymore), COVID relief funds and the like. But Id like to say that proper roads are in the NECESSARY category. But what do I know...
  12. Its not the salt that causes potholes. The salt just corrodies the cars. The potholes are caused by the natural freezing and thawing process of the changing of the seasons. The earth moves beneath us, naturally. Little cracks form in the pavements. Roads or sidewalks. The trucks and cars rolling on the roads speed up the cracking process. Especially heavy transport trucks. Water gets in between these cracks. Water then freezes and breaks the concrete into potholes. Thawing occurs sometime during the winter and/or spring. Water builds up. Freezes up again and further damage is done. Proper road maintenance is expensive. Sometimes the budget is not directed towards proper maintenance if any at all. Half-assed repair work is mostly made only patching up the mess only to have a BIGGER pothole the next season where the patchwork was made. With additional other potholes near the one that was supposed to be fixed. Couple that with corrupt paving companies that charge the city (Montreal) huuuuge amounts of money to pave new roads or patch work or repaving, but NOT using the PROPER concrete mixture engineered for freezing and thawing cycles and you get the mess Montreal is in. But it aint the salt. Its the corrupt system that Quebec employs that enables corrupt contractors to phoque the citizens by using sub-quality materials in the first place. Its the lack of a proper maintenance routine. And sometimes its the lack of funding.
  13. My wife is watching a TV show called 911 right now. And so 2 songs start playing that I havent heard since the late '80s. Miss them times! Well, I dont really miss those times. I love my life where its at now. But, it was a great time for me then too! I guess, so far, my life's been good!
  14. North America never got these. I learned about these relatively recent. Apparently it was a hot little V8 sports car. And I do mean little. 2.6L V8 about 200HP Alfa Romeo Montreal @Robert Hall You beat me to it with the Montreal! ?
  15. And on more humble Italian cars
  16. And weird as it may be. On the Countach I prefer the 1980s excess version rather than the clean '70s version while on the Pantera I prefer the clean '70s version rather than the excess later versions.
  17. Mine would be the mid 1980s Countach with all the plastic aero bits on it. Then the Miura. From the modern Lambos, I only like the Reventon which was a limited edition re-worked Murcielago. The Aventador which kinda has Reventon looks would be my last modern Lambo that I like. @Robert Hall I was JUST gonna post the Iso Griifo! LOVE IT!!!! (edit: post merged...)
  18. There is only ONE place on planet Earth that potholes are worse than Detroit's. THAT would be Montreal... Crabwalk wont help us. The EV Hummer wont help us. We dont need military level off-roading vehicles. We need religious efforts (miracles) to avoid potholes. We need religious interventions to survive them.
  19. Crab walk mode IS awesome. But the EV Hummer is wiiiiiiide. If it be less wide, it wouldnt NEED crab walk in an urban setting...
  20. 10 years is a long time. So is 5. Chevrolet will give us more EVs after the EUV. VW too will have something else after the id4. The economies of scale will kick in. Since Honda is gonna use GM's EV platform, battery and powertrain, we will see what Honda will do with that and how they will price them. So far, toys for the rich that seem to be worth a try. I agree. Only but a few affordable, but not really desirable or even usable(for me at least and Im assuming for your needs too) There are quite a few models that Chevrolet has not really told us about. Corvette it seems, is going EV SUV and EV 4 door sedan on us. And THAT is NEW for April 2021 speculation. True that these are gonna be richboy toys...but its also true that Chevrolet really hasnt mentioned anything about the next gen EVs on Ultium that ARE gonna be affordable. The EUV is last gen tech...
  21. Next month. Greek Orthodox Jesus resurrects on May 2nd this year. 2 days later and its the Jedi's turn... (or am I NOT supposed to say shyte like that?) Sorry Lord for I have sinned...
