  1. I know neither of these are in the same league as a 300k luxury barge but their profiles are sooooo much better, imo. Top: Lucid Aid Bottom: Tesla Model S
  2. I much prefer a station wagon OR a sedan. Please don't blend them.
  3. "awful" is too strong of a word for this but I think the front 3/4 looks fantastic but I'm not a fan of the rear 1/4. I just don't dig the big cruiser vibe (and intention) with a coupe-like rear end. The same body shape of a Panamera, which I've always thought was just "bulky" looking, because it was a coupe-like shape but stretched into a sedan.
  4. Good eye on when it was written. It's basically irrelevant at this point. I'm honestly not exactly sure why it was shared.
  5. Well yeah, I was just commenting on the article's list. The first two things on the list (numbers 34 & 35) are "taking a walk" and "hiking". GTFO of here with those two. If anything, people NEED to get out more and have active/healthy bodies. That list basically says not to leave home.
  6. I 100% agree. They should have because the EV is replacing the ICE one anyway. I think the non-SS one looks really good with a MUCH cleaner front end. I agree that the EV one looks better and I think a lot of that is the drastically changed proportions with the extra long wheelbase.
  7. "Don't go anywhere."
  8. Not wrong here. While completely different vehicles, there's no denying they're "the same". They look a generation apart (which they are). One old, one new.
  9. I doubt that's even necessary as I'd wager most states already have laws against touching/removing/effecting the vehicle's emissions systems. I know I've read IL law that states you cannot remove or modify emissions systems or exhaust systems. The stuff just isn't enforced.
  10. That was back in 2019. I wonder how many there are now. I'm yet to see one but, I also haven't been looking for them, so there's that.
  11. I'd assume another 2-3 years for the ICE Blazer.
  12. We also don't have gas stations in our garages so it's not exactly a perfect comparison. I believe I've seen pictures of Shell stations with chargers but I'm not sure if that's in the US or elsewhere.
  13. That's what @balthazar has been saying all along.
  14. How? If it's as simple as @Drew Dowdell is saying, it's no different at all.
  15. I completely understand FWD & AWD OR RWD & AWD. It's the FWD, RWD, or AWD that's confusing. Interesting marketing tactic, imo.
  16. If FWD has more space in the rear, then that is research and development to redo the hatch area. I doubt those dimensions change per motor configuration though. And yes, there is R&D to, at the bare minimum, for the software side for FWD vs RWD. And, am I reading it correctly (or incorrectly), you can get the small or large motor as FWD or RWD? "RS: Choice of standard FWD with a midsize battery pack or RWD with the larger motor and medium battery pack—you choose where you want the motor—with optional dual motors for AWD." While the consumer always wins with more options, I just don't understand it from their point of view because it may not cost a ton, but it costs money to do it this way.
  17. I get that but...why...? Why would they spend the money doing R&D for something they could have done just FWD and AWD? Enthusiasts are such a small market that it seems weird to possibly cater to us here? While it is probably a simple thing to add, it just seems weird.
  18. I much prefer the styling of those three over this but the non-SS trims look a hell of a lot cleaner and better looking than the SS. Yeah, it doesn't really seem ground breaking in any way outside of maybe SuperCruise. The rest of this segment already has most of what this offers. I'm curious about the FWD, RWD, and AWD available configurations and why that's even a thing. Not saying the option is a bad thing, just curious why it is a thing. Is FWD cheaper than RWD? Is RWD cheaper than FWD? Are people actively choosing FWD over RWD without going AWD?
  19. Cadillac is not in the same league as those, except Genesis. Personally, I believe Genesis is on the same tier as the Germans and Cadillac. They have a small portfolio right now and they don't have the performance vehicles like Blackwing, AMG, M, RS, but everything I've seen and read makes them a legitimate luxury automaker. As much as I love G Wagens, it's a status symbol and not every company can just come out with something like that and sell it for 200k + markup. Mercedes has done EXTREMELY well with the G Class but I think most can agree that's an anomaly in the market. They really don't do much of anything all that great. They shine off road but NOBODY buys one new for 200k and takes it off-road unless they're some YouTuber and are monetizing it.
  20. That's Volkswagen, not Audi. They were selling a cheap branded VW at luxury car (Audi) prices. This is Cadillac, not Chevy. Do they not sell a 150k Escalade Blackwing? Why only compare to their sedan's prices? Yes, 2 times higher price than their currently highest priced vehicle is a lot but I don't think it's insane to think this could do "okay" for their targeted sales goal. 50k over sticker means less than jack squat for Mercedes and Land Rover because they see exactly $0.00 of that markup. The DEALERSHIPS love selling them because they get all of that markup. Also, FWIW, the Benz dealership we were at recently said they won't take anything under 150k over sticker for their new G Wagens. Absolutely fckn insane. And they do it because they know they still sell as soon as they hit the showroom. The guy said he's actually sold two to a lady from LA because they were still cheaper here than in LA.
  21. I mean, you're not wrong here. They're starting within 10-15% of Rolls prices and at 300k it's starting over 100k MORE than Bentley Continentals and Flying Spurs....and Maybach Mercedes. This is a tough sell with those competitors.
  22. The difference there is that was a Volkswagen, not an Audi. This isn't Chevy putting out a 200k sedan, it's Cadillac. Almost none of that is necessary. There are only two luxury brands who make off roaders; Mercedes and Land Rover/Range Rover. GM just doesn't need an off roader in its Cadillac portfolio when they have ZR2 Silverados/AT4X Sierras and an electric Hummer. I do think its a shame they don't have something (ANYTHING) that's a true 2-door sports car.
  23. So what? You can still grasp the concept of an ultra-low volume, high end luxury halo vehicle.
  24. 50 miles seems so close for vehicles who will get 200-300 miles of highway range but I guess it's always better safe than sorry.
  25. I think it's to build a high end branding image. Probably not a whole lot different than the G Wagen a decade ago. I know it was more than 300 cars per year, but wasn't it right around like 1000-1500 units? All of those can be had for waaaaay less than that. I don't even see the Mazda6 on their website anymore.. Kia GT EV6 starts at $51,700. Lucid Air starts at $87,400.
