Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
ccap41 replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
I do agree though, I'm just giving you flack. If people are willing to pay the absurd market adjustments, all the power to them. I'll never pay over MSRP for a vehicle(or probably anything) unless something drastically changes financially. -

If you think that's just Ford dealerships, you're wickedly blind. Also, from that article, the customer never asked for help on the vehicle, they just waited for somebody to magically tell them things. That part was on the customer, IMO. The whole contract situation was on the dealership. "At this time we sat waiting for at least two hours, I was hoping during this time someone would come to show me the specs of the car that I was in the process of buying so that once the deal was signed, I would actually be informed about the details of the car I was purchasing, but no one came."

I know somebody working on the electric Silverado and he says it's quite polarizing, this doesn't appear to be quite polarizing, IMO. Also, nobody else has reported this so, like Balthy has said, this is just a photoshopped 2021 Silverado.

U.S. Voters Supporting Full Transition to Electric Cars by 2030

You're here trying to tell me that a government-funded entity is mismanaging public money?!? The nerve you have. -
So it's actually about $5,000 cheaper than a Model S. Well, I guess Tesla's cheapest Model S currently has a purchase price of $94,990 so more like $17,000 cheaper. It looks like there is no 2WD Model S anymore, or at least for the time-being. Can you imagine rolling around with the windows down or the sunroof open?!? THEY'D BE CLEANING THE AIR FOR EVERYBODY!!!

Literally nobody gives a fck about this. Also, this doesn't take up anywhere near the entire frunk area.

Toyota News: Toyota Unveils Full Global Battery Electric Line-up

"The 2021 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study is based on responses from 33,251 original owners of 2018 model-year vehicles after three years of ownership. The study was fielded from July 2020 through November 2020." -

Possibly but it also depends on what study it was. This is a study of three year old vehicles, not the "initial quality" crap that covers the first 90 days. -

Toyota News: Toyota Unveils Full Global Battery Electric Line-up
ccap41 replied to G. David Felt's topic in Toyota
I don't know a single person who believes Toyota lacks a perception in quality. To the vast majority of people, Toyota is still at the top of the heap and to be honest, what is out there to say they're not at the top or top three? Balthazar showing some pictures of Tacoma frames? -

I'll defend the dealership model just a tiny bit here as one of my buddies works at one and he told me this a couple weeks ago and I thought it was really awesome. So we all know the markups on new vehicles (MARKET ADJUSTMENT) on some pretty common/basic vehicles. He was telling me how they won't mark any vehicle up to anybody who's local to us (not sure what kind of radius he's talking) but if somebody is calling from Chicago looking for a Tahoe or Silverado that they have in stock, they mark those up. They don't want to piss up their local customers who have been buying from them for years or will be buying from them for years to come. I just thought this was a pretty cool thing because they could mark things up across the board and still sell them but they won't for their local clientele. When do you want your vehicle? If you're wanting something now or even within the next month or two, you don't have much of a choice. I'd wager to say the vast majority of the buying public are not willing to wait it out like you did or I would to get exactly what I want AND for the best price. These people who don't care about debt just see $40/month instead of $3,000. Ignorance is bliss and the general public is really freakin stupid and terrible with money. -
Absolutely, isn't one of the biggest perks of going EV to save quite a bit of space which can (should) be used as a frunk? Or, at least repurpose the hood/frunk area for something else. An EV without a frunk just doesn't make sense to me, unless the vehicle is pretty small. That's where I give the Bolt a pass (and other compact vehicles). It's a small enough vehicle that packaging still dictates that space is needed for powertrain components. If freakin' FORD can make a frunk on a Mach-E, then Mercedes should be able to make a frunk on an S Class-sized vehicle.
-
Has Mercedes made an EV worth a damn yet? I mean, the EQS isn't a bad vehicle, it just looks like complete crap. Why somebody would consciously choose a vehicle that looks as jellybean as that vehicle is beyond me.
-
I'm sure you read the comparison between the Air and EQGarbage and the praise on how well Lucid packaged the Air's interior saying it was as spacious as the S Class/EQS. I'm sure you can figure out which is which based on the below measurements/capacities. I'm positive you didn't even do your own research here so I'll show you.
