  1. you act as if they are not coming out with new product and not putting money into new product which is completely false considering that within just a few years the entire Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep lineup will be either all-new or heavily updated. I know you hate FCA, but get off of it. Besides, the Jeep truck makes MUCH more sense as the last Dakota bombed and people have been drooling for a Jeep truck since, well, forever...... Stew this is the deal. Chrysler has two new cars based on older Fiat platforms. They have only done some refreshes to the RWD cars and are selling them at large discounts other than the Hellcat. I know my In laws just bought a 300 for dirt cheap. Jeep and the Truck really have gotten the bulk of the investment but what money they are making is being dumped into Alfa and Maserati when it should be going to Dodge and Chrysler. Sorry but I am not blind to the fact Sergio is expecting Alfa to increase sales from 160,000 to over 400,000 by 2017. Well that is not going to happen and he is pissing away money that should have gone into Chrysler 5 years ago. Look at GM and Chrysler post bail out and GM is already to the point they have replaced most of their platforms with new platforms and are already into the second gen of refresh on some of theses models in the next one to two years. They even created a new Omega platform. Yet Chrysler is left with older and borrowed models. Even the RWD replacements were pushed back. Sergio is bleeding them of money that should go to them as he needs volume and they are the brands to do it not Alfa. Even you are wise enough to understand that for post bail out we have seen little done and much of what money Jeep has made went to Italy not Detroit where it should go. Sergio is looking for a dance partner because he needs one. The man is desperate and is off his rocker. The sad part other than the trucks, Jeep and Ferrari no one is really interested in the rest of the line up. They offer nothing another company already does not have or need. Sergio has turned FCA into a parasite and it is looking for a main body to suck onto and drain blood from. The car line up is far behind and not looking to be improving soon. The LX is a refresh and that is all. Improved yes but while the others have replaced or moved on with new platforms. If you are happy with re bodied Fiats that is fine but if I were a Chrysler fan I would not be happy at all. Jeep should be paying for all new Chrysler products ones imported from Italy. Again, you show how little you know. Where to start? We know the BRAND NEW ALFA platform is going to give us the replacement for LX, so great investment IMO. CUSW shares VERY little with the original Alfa platform, basically when it appeared just a couple years ago, for all intents and purposes it was a new platform. We have seen the new minivan, we know new powertrains and MANY new vehicles are coming AND CONFIRMED. You choose to ignore these facts because they DESTROY your skepticism. not to mention their sales are still INCREASING while they maintain the LOWEST percentage of rental sales of the big 3. they have also managed to outsell Ford in retail sales which is a VERY big deal. The facts are against yo. Again, ou simply hate FCA and that is your real issue. Am I saying they are perfect? no, but who is. Cadillac is floundering in sales right now, there is the huge ignition recall and government fines that make FCA's "record fines" look like chump change. Like FCA their trucks are doing great, but their cars aren't exactly setting the world on fire. I like both companies. I love my Dakota and m Silverado, but I neither is really perfect or overall really outperforming each other in a lot of areas since the bailout.

  3. There is still a relatively large market for minivans, more than enough to keep them in production. Just look at the monthly sales numbers.
  4. Wait, i went to the article, I think you guys are looking at the 700C which is the only full picture and just the concept. From what little I can see from the camoed models, it is more reminiscent of the mid 90s minivans which is a good thing. Honestly, it isn't like the Odyssey or Sienna are anything but huge bags of ugly anyway........
  5. Yep, probably twice that new. and they got the bigger 3.7 V6 in 11 if i am not mistaken.
  6. Letting the beagles stretch their legs and just a nice day of off-roading. Big mud, fields, hills, rocks, pretty fun overall.
  7. A few photos from last weekends of-road journey.
  8. My brother got his wife a new vehicle, a 2008 MKX. 102k miles One owner Dealership maintained 2 year warranty Immaculate condition. All options but touchscreen/navigation and possibly the THX sound system 20 inch rims Purchase price 11k OTD I am guessing the color is platinum. Looks silver in some light and Gold in others. Looks really good with the 20 inch chrome rims. Really nice gray interior. Signs of wear and tear: couple small nicks on the rear driver's door. Slight signs in the backseat area where a childseat was used, some on armrest, otherwise mint condition, Panoramic sunroof needs oiled or a spray of WD40. Features of note: Sync: Didn't get a chance to try it with my Galaxy, but said his 6 plus synced fine Heated and cooled seats; Love the cooled seats, much better than was in his CTS Power tailgate: love this. power up and down and can be controlled by a button in the cab or on the keyfob. Panoramic sunroof: It is huge! The front part that opens is so large it covers part of the backseat and has a power sunshade, very nice indeed. Buttons and knobs: YES, I love the simplicity and they look good and work well. HID headlights and foglights: High beams bright enough to see into the next county. Sound system: i don't know for sure if it has the THX system, but it had one of the best sounding systems I have heard in a vehicle. Very clear and loud. Those LED taillights. One of the reasons the 1st gen MKX is my favorite is because it was very unique and screamed Lincoln more than those after it. I LOVE that huge LED strip that goes all the way across the rear the rear with LED brake lights and even LED backup lights. Impressive considering it was an 08. Interior: As seen above in the features, they were pretty impressive. I was also impressed with the interior. It didn't feel like you were sitting in a Ford and I give them huge kudos for that. The seats were extremely comfortable and full power with lumbar for both the driver and front passenger. I really liked the 2 tier center console with tons of storage and snazzy looking dual chrome handles to open them. Controls were easy to see and use and a comfortable driving position was easy to find via the very adjustable seats and the tilt/telescoping steering wheel. The only real negative, and it isn't really a negative, was that the gauges were pretty basic. That said, I liked the classic look and they were easy to read. The drive: Again, a comfortable seating position was easy to find. The steering wheel is a good size and fits well in your hands. Steering was surprisingly tight and well weighted. It was not over-boosted in any way and gave a good sense of control. The 20 inch rims did make the ride a little brittle over potholes, but it was never really harsh. Really more heard than felt. It did have some body roll, but nothing unexpected. The 3.5 V6 had plenty of power and even had a bit of a snarl to it that sounded really good. Braking was smooth and well controlled. It, of course, is no sports car, but is a very comfortable ride that would be amazing on longer tips or just running errands, exactly as it should be. Overall: This is easily an underrated vehicle. It is smooth, luxurious, and loaded with great and usable features. It drives well and provides comfort for days. An amazing value on the used market. If you are in the market for a used crossover, this should really be on your list. Note; The other finalist on their list was an 09 Acura RDX. They chose the Lincoln because of the room, features, smooth V6, price, and the fact it was 30 bucks a month less to insure.
  9. Nah, thinking it is something with the ABS. Had an ABS light on, went to stop and the pedal was stuck out and vibrating like ABS was activated, then the ABS light went out.. Did it to me twice, i honestly have no clue.
  10. The Silverado lives! Well, i runs. Still needs some frame plating and bad issue with the brakes.......
  11. First time speaking in front of a group in a long time. It went well I think.
  12. It's true. I was shocked at how bad it was.
  13. Ok, this is going to be a little different. No, I did not drive it, but got to spend a decent amount of time riding in the backseat and it is pretty amazing the things you pick out about a vehicle vehicle from back there. Also, since these are the modern equivilent of a station wagon, I think this makes sense. First impression....... The materials are downright awful. Hard plastic on all rear ouch points and the seat fabric seemed overly cheap. Legroom was ok, but not great. Really, my 07 Patriot was on par with the materials found not only in the back, but most places in the vehicle. It was really pretty dreadful. he only interior high-spots were the gauges and the large touchscreen. The seats themselves were not that comfortable and left me with a sore butt and aching back. And the ride was only 45 minutes each way. The ride.......... Oh my, this was the worst part of riding in that thin. The ride was rough. you could feel every bump. There was also a LOT of bod roll. Basically you get seasick while at the same time getting a concussion from roughness of the ride over bumps. Even from the backseat going up hills with 4 passengers, it was very obvious the CR-V was struggling pretty badl and the CVT was just whizzing away at high RPMs. Really, if this is the bar that some rags use for small CUVs, then basically the rest of the field is well above the bar. This brings me back to my old Patriot. With it's interior being on par and having nowhere near the ride penalties of the CR-V, it puzzles me how the CR-V is considered great, while the Patriot is considered bad.
  14. Saw the new Maxima for the time in the flex, I actually like it. he windshield has a crazy rake for a sedan.
  15. Cannot wait for this!

    Recall website?

Thank you very much, last link was exactly what I was looking for.

    Recall website?

Does anyone know where i could find a website maybe to put my VIN in and see if there are any outstanding recalls on my 99 Silverado?
  19. Finally, after a long time, my 99 Silverado Z71 is going in for repair. Once it is back on he road, the F-150 is getting sold for scrap and the 2wd Dakota will be sold.
  20. I think the merger with GM idea is insane, BUT I see a reason or Alfa. See that new Charger and Cuda? They wouldn't have been able to make these without an expensive Alfa to put that platform under. it makes sense.
  21. Never buy parts through a stealership. I buy everything OEM (or otherwise) from the internet, usually Amazon. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought it was typical to charge $80-100 per hour for labor. The stealership pays the tech maybe $20 of that. Isn't it sickening? I almost crapped my pants. It has been along time since I had anything one at a dealership, circa 1997 (1993 T-bird suspension parts and freezeplugs) I believe and at $30 it was still overpriced IMHO, but it was not this insane lol.
  22. WTF, called the local Chevy dealership about fixing my Silverado. Up to $500 in parts is bad enough, but $95.00 an hour for labor?!?!?! I am not looking for a private mechanic around here that would be able to flash the PCM for the security system.
  23. Why would they not be? Sales have increased every month for what, the last 5 years? They also beat Ford in retail sales in june, so again, a haeful comment just to be a hateful comment. Right now they have a lot of great product and have in the past as well. Everyone has duds, even Mercedes.......
  24. Also, the Alfa's platform should be flexible like GM's Alpha, allowing different wheelbases and engine and transmission configurations.
  25. HA! Of course hyperV6 STILL finds issue since he clearly simply hates the brand and WANTS it to fail. This is all good news, as already predicted so no surprise. And a refreshed Hemi is already in the works, though I agree it may become less of an option in lower models.
