  1. I'm just going to say this. How many Mustangs are out there with LS swaps and how Vette's are out there with 5.0 swaps? Nuff said (excuse my non-Ivy League educated wording). While I will completely agree that the super snake and applications like that shouldn't even be brought up. Vette and Mustang engine swaps aren't really comparable. Camaro and Mustang makes waaaaay more sense. Of course there aren't Vette owners wanting a lesser powerful Mustang engine. But Camaro owners..older Camaros wanting the newer 5.0 or Cobra 4.6 DOHC..is a lot more likely. But I will add that I never follow the "swap" crowd. It's never been my thing. I wouldn't put a Chevy V8 in a Ford and vise versa. Now I think it would be cool to have an 80's/90's Camaro/Mustang and swap for the modern 6.2/5.0. That would be cool. I guess the same could be said for the Older -> Newer Corvettes as well. That Vette owners don't want Stang motors was exactly my point ccap. Stang owners wanted a better motor so they started doing LS swaps. Vette owners have no need to downgrade. As a result, a Camaro owner will go LS long before putting a 4.6 or 5.0L under the hood.

You may have just completely ruined the Avenir for me. It has a very similar body shape to the Panamera..which is one of the ugliest sedans on the market. $h! It looks ten times better than the Panamera. GM needs to just build the damn thing already.
  4. Unrelated to the OHC vs. Pushrod topic and there have only been three confirmed failures out of the thousands of Z06s out there, per that article. Next.
  5. Pushrod for the win.

Too much chrome on any car, especially the side skirts. It is not the 1950s anymore and there is nothing minimal about it here.
  7. A simple GM paid engine flush will take care of any remaining contaminants. Hopefully that is the core problem here but that still doesn't address the larger heat soak issues on other models.
  8. That Avenir is just gorgeous and I haven't said that about a Buick in a long time! It would be nice if GM would just go ahead and pull the trigger on this already.
  9. It's (diesel) 20 cents less on average in my neck of the woods. Don't worry Bong. In a decade or so we will hear about Ford finally (following everyone else, mind you) bringing diesel to their cars here and how they will be the best thing since sliced bread. History will not matter at that point. Ford is the leader. Surely they would never be a follower.
  10. Only at one site LOL!
  11. If you don't mind leasing, the deals on the Volt really would save you money. Very true but I tend to keep my cars for more than a few years these days so financing one is not a big deal for me. True, but run the numbers. You usually get the full force of the tax credit built right in and GM likes leasing them. My friends ended up leasing theirs so cheap, the savings in fuel costs each month (they came from an old Pathfiner or 4Runner) completely covered the monthly leasing costs. It also only increased their electric bill about $35 a month. That's always good to know. Thanks.

  13. With my 24 mile round trip commute, five days a week, the Volt is the perfect kind of car for a guy like me. Would save me so much money in the long run.
  14. Touts a truck line that doesn't have a compact or mid size entry plus the added complexity of Eco-Boost and aluminum (hence the large sum of money Ford spent setting up shop for aluminum) and criticizes the competition for having more choices? Only Wings.
  15. Just make it a color matching spoiler because the black definitely look tacked on.
  16. Oh it's just a pipe dream for sure because American tastes are so fickle that the word "wagon" just scares their vanity even though a CUV is nothing more than a taller and uglier wagon. One can always dream though.
  17. My Magnum has given seven great years and my wife would kill me if I traded it for another car, but there is nothing that says I can't just park a Caddy wagon right next to it. About like this.
  18. I'm going to be the weirdo and wish for another wagon variant of this. Yummy!
  19. Agreed. I am not diesel fan but this is a real game changer in the mid size game for Chevy, a move they never would have even considered ten years ago.
  20. Those 3.0s are V6s too so that is where the difference comes from. This is plenty for this truck and it will sell like hotcakes.
  21. I'll take two please (and a winning lottery ticket to make that happen)!
  22. 4.2L I6. My brother had just moved back from Germany so the 5.3L would have been a bad idea. He collected three speeding ticket in six months in the I6. Took me a year to convince him he was no longer on the autobahn!
  23. I'd like them to bring back the Trailblazer name as well. It may seem blasphemy because it will be a FWD/AWD CUV but a body on frame SUV but I think using a name with some recognition behind it will be very beneficial. That it would. I know they weren't much to look at on the inside but my brother still has his '03 and it has been rock solid. My dad had an Envoy(same thing) and the ONLY thing that went was the catalytic converter and I think he got rid of it around 120k. The only thing it didn't do very well at was fuel economy. That wasn't a very good era for SUV fuel economy. His also had the 4.2L I6. I wasn't a huge fan of the engine. It seemed to really need revs to work but that could have also been just the old tech 4spd trans. It was definitely the tranny on those. My brother's would straight up haul butt with very little gas pedal action. It is a big gas hog though.

  25. Although I know this will be considered blasphemy in some circles (what with SUVs like the Pathfinder becoming CUVs), it needs the Trailblazer name on it.
