  1. According to every reliability study and survey, it is far more miss than hit. That is the point here and in no way does that indicate some kind of bias on Davids part. Well considering this is a thread about Tesla and their issues, then the criticisms are quite valid. We are also talking about the here and now so old GM doesn't have squat to do with this. Besides, there has been plenty of GM/Ford/Chrysler smack talk over the last forty years (and deservedly so) so I say "welcome to the s***show Tesla".
  2. You do realize that he is just highlighting ONE of the many problems with Tesla right? We will skip the fact that the Model S had fire issues too. No offense but there are many, many things wrong with Teslas QC methods and standards. Any attempt to say otherwise is a bias comment itself because it ignores that very fact.
  3. Again, ten years didn't seem to be a problem for you in regards to the almost TEN year old Tesla Model S. Your have touted its "success" at damn near every turn.
  4. Missing the point. SMK is saying basically that Lucid will struggle because there are not enough dealers and no one is familiar with them. My response is that Tesla went through the same thing (a decade ago) yet they are successful today (their many flaws notwithstanding). It’s that simple and my statement has nothing to do with individual models and such. What? By your logic, GM should not have succeeded in the early 1900s because Ford was first to sell to the masses. Ford was first. GM was just another brand. Not even reading the rest of your post when it starts out with stuff like that. Just more apples to oranges nonsense.
  5. The same thing was said about Tesla. How'd that turn out?
  6. Nope. Not at all. The very few times I ever had to eat (like when I traveled across country), those few crumbs would get into the hard to reach places around the heat shifter. My bigger point, in case you missed it, is that a leather boot area around the shifter would have been far easier to clean. For the record, I was known as the Cookie Monster for years growing up.
  7. You act like crumbs don't get down inside there or any other plastic ladened shifter. Newsflash. My Flex was terrible for that kind of stuff getting into the crevices around the shifter area. They do and they are even harder to clean than a simple boot area. Ive had any problem keeping mine clean. Guess it boils down to personal preference but lets not act like the other styles aren't a pain the ass to keep clean either. See my above post. Those crevices around the shifter area are not going to be fun area to get clean and free of debris. I don't even know why this is even a discussion, to be honest with you but since you brought it up then I figured it was fair game to point out your choices are also a pain in the ass to keep clean and there is simply no way that you will convince me otherwise.
  8. Not in the class of vehicles the Compass currently occupies. It's always cheap plastic or leather boots. I'm with ccap. I'll take the boot over the cheap looking plastic. And I'm guessing your car is something from a different decade?
  9. I am willing to bet that here and 98% of the Gs out there have never even seen a gravel road much less been “off road”. Just stop it already. We get it. Mercedes Mercedes Mercedes. My answer to that is “so F’ing what?”
  10. Deflection from your celebrity claim which has NO connection to the sale figure you posted above. Just skip the fact that the Urus comes from a low volume automaker and accounted for more than half of Lambos overall sales. You, again, fail at apples to apples.
  11. That's wrong. That was one G in a sea of Urus images and clearly you didn't actually look at the pics of hundreds of celebrities that have already gotten their hands on them but hey, that "G-Wagon" lol (used in quotes because you continue to misspell G-Wagen). After all, if Kylie Jenner has one then it must be good (please note the heaviest use of sarcasm ever).
  12. Saw that lol. Just baffles me to think that everyone wants the Benz and apparently nothing else. Meanwhile, the real world upper crust knows that there are many luxury choices and Benz is just another player in it.
  13. Seriously? That's the hill to die on here? They sell barely thousands yearly of the G-Wagen but because a few bad with money celebrities drive them, that's the be all, end all here? And get the entire "you know what" out of here with everything you said there anyway, honestly. That overdressed Audi (something you never point out when comparing it to domestics btw) has plenty of celebrity credentials right off the bat. All it took was one search to kill your argument about cars and their celebrity status preferences. Stop acting like Benz is so damn unique in every way when it clearly isn't. I'd take the GW over the G-Wagen any day of the week btw and I'm not even that enamored over the exterior looks of it. The interior is the seller for me.
  14. That Semi has also been updated over the years and has similar cylinder deactivation tech as the GM. I should add that brand new tech inset always better for certain things. Example? That G-Wagen you love so much uses a brand new engine and powertrain but still gets $h! MPGs. Point being the MPGs don't mean much in this price bracket so just let go of the fake criticism just because we are not talking about a German SUV here. Which flies in the face of the "many people" part of his initial "assessment". Purely biased commentary by a known Benz fan. Nothing more, nothing less. And? That means they are doing the same damn thing as Benz when they slap AMG labels in everything. It's to boost sales. DUHHHH!
  15. Same. Just a sample of some my Dali love. If you are ever in St. Petersburg, FL then oyu have to visit the Dali museum there. It will absolutely blow your mid to see those master works up close. The Hallucinogenic Toreador is worth the price of admission alone. That piece is 7 by 13 feet alone. Ii
  16. You may want to cite “many” because we ain’t buying it. The “dinosaur” 6.2L in the Escalade is laughing at you from the top of the luxury SUV sales ladder.
  17. As much as I hate those oversized tires, that Bronco is just badass. I even like the retro striping along the side.
  18. Not at $156K for a Mustang, or wouldn’t lol.
  19. While I was at my nearby Ford dealership, I saw these. Note the “market adjusted” price of the Shelby GT500. The Bronco was super sharp though (no price on it though) but damn those big a** tires lol!
  20. Same. Not worth it when it comes to broken record "debates".
  21. And all I’m saying that you need to expand your racing horizons. The Vette has just as much racing cred as the Germans. And I’m with ccap. That’s some big talk about delays given your worship over the oft delayed AMG One. The Vette will be just fine and the next bump will come soon, just in time for a fresh new round of excuses from the German car fan club.
  22. So (after yet another page wasted on German car fans), I just want to say this. This is only the beginning for the C8 and for once, I am looking forward to seeing what they put out next.
  23. Again, missing the point with your apples to oranges comparisons. That Miata does not race in the same series as the Vette any damn way. The point here is that IT IS BUILT FROM A ROAD SERIES RACING VETTE. Show me the Miata or Ferrari in this race. Maybe you missed where F1 racing isn't the only high speed racing on the planet earth. https://www.imsa.com/weathertech/results/ And again, only YOU are comparing the Vette to F1 cars because you don't think it's actually from a race car. This is from the road series racing Vette. Familiarize yourself.
