  1. It's actally kinda funny with the arguing going on here... But it is getting old quick. Regardless of what of what your guys point is- the simple fact is that 90 percent of people buy their car like they would buy their washer or TV. How many people do research on what they buy? While a few might (somebody buys CR), most people in the buying public don't. Either Marketing sells it to them, or they simply do what they are told. Maybe even if it is on sale... Don't even think for a second most people care how fast it is, unless they are buying for image..... It has to fit it, not cause problems, and be able to get rid of it for something new. People still BUY cars? Not anyone I know..... We could argue about what parts of cars are better-But bottom line is that image sells...... I once remember when everyone wanted an SUV.....and beanie babies....and A&F.....All about Image.... So yes, to an extent, FOG is right.....
  2. Yep, but I don't think you'll findthem that cheap yet... I think I saw an 00 for 2500 once...

  6. A 93-97 SW2 for your mom. And a 95-98 Neon for your brother. Just watch out for the headgasket though....
  7. Well, that is nice, but so do the 80s J bodies.... Even with the all the rust, the 2.0 motor my my neighbors 86 Sunbird is going at 312k miles.....
  8. Oh, Hall Rd? No one ever slows down there... I myself had a near miss near Lakeside a few years back. Scares me beacuse people don't even look when they pull out.... We had blackouts around here too...It has made things crazy around here.... Yeah, I have to say those infomercials are quite funny...
  9. As long as you can nix the running boards, those drive me nuts..plus the break easy...

  12. I am not knocking on them (at least not that much)...I have owned 4 of them already.... My ol' 93 is a good example of what I am saying... The 3.1 has held together quite well, the drivetrain is holding up well, but after 15 years of michigan winters, the car is starting to rust pretty well. I think the will lose a door before it stops running..... My wife's 2003 Cavaler has been a good car, sans the dreaded "dash rattle". That at times can drive me nuts. If the roads are bumpy, My dash will know. :AH-HA_wink: Besides that, it is holding up quite well. The Eco is still smooth, and it has given me 42k trouble free miles so far...
  13. I'll take one of any of those, please. I love Firebirds.

    A Lesson

Yeah, sometimes it's nice not to have so many things on a car... With my wife's cavalier, it is simple to drive with less to go wrong. Though It would be nice to have power locks on her 4 door, I really don't miss them, even now with the little one...I guess I am just used to it....
  17. Yeah, yeah, I forgot about the clubman...
  18. Dude, Cap, I am so sorry....the drivers are so crazy around here..... We will keep you and Kim in our prayers..... I hope still gets better quickly. And I agree with the other guys on the insurance company....wait till after she is home and safe...screw em' if they don't inderstand..... Let me know if I can help....
  19. German
  20. True. And keeping their cars from rusting apart.... While the Js kept running (the engines lasted for quite a while), you usually had to junk them due to rust....
  21. Small
  22. A 3 hatch would work too...
