  1. Well given the fact that the typical Buick buyer vividly remembers a time when black people weren't allowed to play golf on the same courses as whites were and probably still wishes it was like that, it was kind of a f@#ked up and useless pairing from the beginning. No loss at all if you ask me. Whatever happened to the good old days of Arnold Palmer selling Cadillac Eldorados? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26_4FjCYuFY
  2. Saw a very original looking faded bronze 1974ish Pontiac LeMans two-door being driven by an old lady, probably the original owner. Also saw a 1947 Ford coupe, very tastefully rodded. Today was also a banner day for old, obscure crappy economy cars: saw an ancient (1982, maybe?) Honda Accord four door, a mid 80's Isuzu I-Mark, and, believe it or not, a f@#king Yugo. Registered, on the road, and moving under its own power. May God have mercy on its owner and make a tree fall on it or something.
  3. Dude, seriously, who owned this place before you moved in? Look at that beautiful old rugged stone and timber barn with nice modern structural steel, smooth concrete floors, high ceilings, new doors and windows that look old, new floor joists; it's brightly lit and everything. I tell ya, the things I'd be doing with a space like that.....
  4. Gassed up the Burb at $1.95 tonight on the way home from work and then saw $1.89 a few miles down the road.
  5. I dunno what the hell the problem is in my area but like 90% of the stores that used to carry Johnny Lightning cars don't anymore; there's two Toys 'R' Us's in the area that do, but other than that, all of my sources have dried up. I can't remember the last time I saw any JL cars or even higher-end stuff from the other big toy car companies (the Hot Wheels display sets, Matchbox SuperKings and Superfast America, etc.) That Olds wagon is sweet, but unfortunately that'll probably end up being an eBay item for me
  6. Sell rock. I dunno, you have a nice workspace there and judging by the looks of the wagon you know which end of the screwdriver to hold. Why not try your hand at light automotive work on the side? Buy beaters, fix 'em a little, and flip them for profit. Just a thought.
  7. What about the Cadillac Allante? Billed as GM's SL500 killer, it was offered with front wheel drive and automatic only, plus the interior was hideous. What a turdwagon.
  8. Does this mean everybody in America gets their free Dr. Pepper now? http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/articl...t_id=1003741826
  9. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand we're officially one step closer to being morbidly obese lethargic blobs like the people in Wall-E. Does anybody else get the feeling we're headed for the existence shown in that movie if we don't start doing for ourselves again soon?
  10. Wish I had 4K to throw at a truck because I would LOVE to have that as a project. I'd love a one-ton crewcab 4x4.
  11. Given the state of the economy and the fact that everybody is a tirekicker, what would you realistically be asking for the truck?
  12. Your Buick is well thought out, tastefully done, and you're not cutting corners anywhere. Purists may turn their noses up but I would argue that the vast majority will bask in its awesomeness and crap their pants when they see it roast tires for an eighth of a mile. We're talking about bottom-feeding mouth-breathing hicks looking out the window of the double-wide into the weeds and seeing the decent-looking ______ that doesn't run and the rotted out four wheel drive ______ that does, cobbing them both together in a weekend, and then insisting on the fact that they're mechanical geniuses for doing so while asking twice what top dollar would be for either unmolested vehicle in A-1 condition.
  13. Wow! And I thought ugly useless overpriced Lincoln pickups began with the Blackwood! Learn something new every day.......
  14. "This is truly one of a kind." Right. That's why we turn them up on craigslist at a rate of about twice a week without even trying. And another turdwagon hits the streets after two decent vehicles are irreversibly f@#ked up to make it.
  15. When I was knee-high to a grasshopper there was a guy around here that did that to a REAL '69 GTO Judge. Even at that young age, I always hoped that somebody would pull him out of the window of that car by his head and kick him in the balls repeatedly.
  16. http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/920854954.html Apparently it has a younger brother. And the wing on the back is definitely 2 Fast 2 Furious! Douchebags.
  17. Saw a nice '68 Ford Galaxie 500 and a flawless black '66 GTO on my way to work this morning
  18. Any BOF RWD V8-powered GM car or full-size Chevrolet/GMC truck I can dig up for less than a thousand bucks. I've had many. My $600 '70 Sedan DeVille was probably my favorite around town bomb.
  19. Gassed up the Burb last night at $2.21
  20. Sweet. So then parents wouldn't have to worry about accidents OR birth control. Nice.
  21. Along those lines, there DOES exist a pro-firearms sticker that says "My gun has killed less people than Ted Kennedy's car"
  22. She used to be hot, but then she had blind people perform plastic surgery on her with meat tenderizers, plus did that reality show where she was like falling down drunk all the time. Very un-hot.
  23. Donate the truck to the XP715 Foundation for the tax write-off and use the money you save there to finish your El Camino.
  24. Light weight? Zenith carbs? Around 500 built? My only half-educated guess is some sort of Cunningham, maybe?
  25. Speaking of the Duke, that reminded me that an ancient forklift my father has down at the shop still has a "Make it in Massachusetts" sticker on it from the days of Governor Edward King who served a term from 1979-1983 in between two Dukakis terms. Every now and again you'll see one of those stickers on an abandoned building or toll booth on the Massachusetts Turnpike.
