    PS2 Issue

Here's a couple dumb questions: -Are any of the games you're experiencing this problem with bootlegs -You said you bought the system used at Gamestop; could this thing be f@#ked up inside because the person who owned it before you tried to mod it to play non-US market games?
  3. Oldsmobiles, eh? Okay, I've had three so far: -1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme: this was my first car. A guy that my father did some work for couldn't quite pay his bill, and gave him this car to settle up with him. I totalled it, fixed it, and three weeks after it was done (painted and everything) it was totalled again when a kid who was high and driving his mother's brand new car without a license cut me off. When his insurance company cut me a check, I bought this: -1989 Oldsmobile Toronado: it was a disaster, but a cheap disaster, and that's all that mattered at the time. Wouldn't mind having one in nice shape again at some point. Anyways, I cooked the transmission in this one after about three months and sold it to a guy for $500. -1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme: bought this on a whim for $230 off a kid that was moving out to Washington state and couldn't take it with him. It had 77,000 original miles on it and was as solid as a rock and ran like a champ. It had a wonderful faded and windswept patina from living out in Idaho for most of its life. I traded it along with a '71 Coupe DeVille to get my '67 Eldorado. I wish like hell I still had this car. It was the best beater I ever had.
  4. I had an '89 that was beat to $h! for a brief period of time (3 months?) and I loved it. Not a bad ride for what it was. Never before or since have I had a car with more buttons and gadgets in it.
  5. +1. Damn work. My father goes every year and tells me how awesome it is. Someday......
  6. Very cool. I have a couple antique bicycles and an antique snowmobile that are on my "to do" list (and probably will be for years to come). I've always wanted a few old pedal cars, though.
  7. That's a really nice Bonneville; why did I think it was a two-door? Did you ever have an older two-door car that you've mentioned here? I really could have sworn it was a two-door.
  8. Saw a mid 60's Jeep J-20 pickup truck yesterday, still working hard, loaded up with sections of an old stockade fence headed for the dump (or so it seemed). I haven't seen one of those in years. Also, my father's 1937 Packard Super Eight, freshly restored, is now registered and insured and inspected and hit the road for the first time since 1975 yesterday and racked up a grand total of 66 miles.
  9. Looks like the glove fit this time. I hope Tyrone doesn't even spit on his finger before he pounds him in the ass.

    My kinda DONK

Maybe it's because I'm a sucker for anything with agricultural tires, but I think this thing is awesome!
  11. ASSCAR is lame and will always be lame. However, I'd see damn near anything if somebody just handed me the tickets for nothing. Also, I've had pit passes and hospitality tent passes to races in the past (my father owns a body shop and sometimes gets tickets from DuPont) and I think being able to go in the pits is way better than the race itself. You'll definitely enjoy it.
  12. The paint job reminds me of something you'd see on a Hot Wheels car in the bargain bin in the late 1980's. The fake Ferrari Testarossa cheese graters on the side further date this ugly POS.
  13. http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/861135480.html Classy!
  14. What about stuff like wildfires and volcano eruptions?
  15. Nice cars; a good friend of mine has the two-door version of this car in blue with a black quarter roof. Very sharp.

    Addiction

Six quarts in 18 hours? Enjoy diabetes!
  17. I'm going to have to second (or like fifth now) that one: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/Feg/noframes/10122.shtml Read it and weep, DF: 16 City, 24 Highway, 19 Combined. That's what the manufacturer has filed WITH THE GOVERNMENT as being the car's official fuel economy. There's like a 5% margin of error depending on how much of an old lady you drive like, so best case scenario you're getting high 20's on the highway. And I seriously doubt it because I'll bet a million dollars you had the air conditioning on too. 38? Are you for real? So you mean to tell us that life for a Panther begins at a hundred-plus thousand miles because that's where they hit their sweet spot and DOUBLE their fuel economy? If that's the case then everybody in America needs to drive their vehicles to the junkyard IMMEDIATELY and all pick up a high mileage 15 year-old Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis/Town Car. Congratulations, you've found the answer! Hybrid technology is a sham! America will end its dependence on foreign oil by driving old beat-up Fords! Here's a hint: don't take what the driver's information center tells you at the second you happen to glance down at it when you let your foot off the gas and coast down a hill as the car's overall fuel economy. If we all went by those figures then my mother's '85 Eldorado was getting 120 MPG..... but only when you were rolling up to a red light.

    Hoping.

Nice VEHICLE. VEHICLE are my favorite. I've always wanted VEHICLE but have never been able to find VEHICLE in good enough shape in my price range to buy VEHICLE. Hopefully everything with VEHICLE checks out. Good luck in purchasing VEHICLE. VEHICLE looks like a great project. VEHICLE will be sweet when it's all done! Great title, dumbass! YJ: nice Olds; hope it works out for you!
  19. If it's "really old" like the others are saying, my guess for something with a 32-valve eight cylinder engine with forced induction would be a J/SJ/SSJ Duesenberg. EDIT: balthazar: is the car you're talking about from the early days? Like, Brass Era? External valvetrain? Like a Knox or a Jackson or a Welch, maybe?
  20. $3.59 here, up from $3.53 just yesterday. I bet it'll be more by week's end.
  21. Oil is down almost $6 right now to 95 and change a barrel. Doesn't seem like the end of the world just yet....
  22. So like a one-time government loan to get the ball rolling, with the understanding from the people that required the services that they would be billed for them and expected to pay in full with interest for them once they are productive members of society again? I assume the money paid back would be paid into an account to KEEP the ball rolling?
  23. Camino: all good thoughts again; I agree with everything you say. Just one thing I need clarification on: -Wouldn't you also need to at the same time decriminalize the sale and possession of any drug? It would be pretty much useless to allow a person to use something that's still illegal to obtain and possess until they choose to use it, yes? -I agree with you that removing the fear and stigma surrounding a person's addiction will almost certainly prompt an increasing number of people to seek help, but does the "right to be complete losers" extend to that? What I mean is, will this increasing number of people that seek rehabilitation be expected to pay for it themselves (as they should)? It's not my addiction and I shouldn't be required to pay for its treatment, just as I shouldn't be chipping in for people's mortgage bailouts. Sorry if you think I'm a jerk and am trying to pick your thoughts apart; I'm only doing so because you have an interesting concept here and it could really work if you considered every angle.
  24. All good thoughts; I agree with all of them to some degree. Camino: you should probably elaborate on "legalize recreational drug use" to: - define exactly what recreational use is - include a list of approved/unapproved drugs (example: marijuana and other "soft" drugs should be legal but I don't think anybody will really see the benefits of the legalization of the use of stuff like heroin, meth, etc.) - define what the maximum quantities of said approved drugs are legal to possess before you can be charged with stuff like intent to distribute (I assume this legalization of certain drugs would be accompanied by an approved and sanctioned method of distribution with safety standards and all that other happy horse$h!), etc. Just a thought, seeing as how we're still a country run by lawyers and insurance companies :AH-HA_wink:
  25. Somebody PLEASE take that Continental kit off that '58 Mercury and throw it in the dumpster IMMEDIATELY! Otherwise, a great set of photos!
