  1. For real. Usually a bumper that sticks out that far goes with a Continental kit!
  2. Yes. It was absolutely well into the six figures. I tried to find the complete auction or even a reference to it on a site like Jalopnik, but sadly, no luck. Ended with no bids (what a surprise) and disappeared apparently until now. Nineteen-five is a slammin' deal for a truly one of a kind vehicle; i'd kill to have it, even if it had to sit for fifty years until I could get around to it. Everybody prides themselves on having an old 30's gangster car, but how often do people get to pride themselves on having what the gangster cars were all chasing after?
  3. Kinda like the one and only 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II concept that was found up to its rocker panels in mud in an old dilapidated, half-collapsed chicken coop in Indiana. Did anybody else catch that story in Muscle Car Review about two years back? I'd love to be able to have the time and money to buy a motorhome and a car trailer and go exploring the backyards and barns of America, dragging stuff home one at a time!
  4. Pretty cool; not often you see a Ford concept car for sale or otherwise. About eight years ago I was fortunate enough to see the 1955 Lincoln Indianapolis coupe in person at a local Concours d'Elegance that sadly no longer exists, and that's more than most have probably seen. What I wouldn't give to go back in time to the legendary Warhoops salvage yard and fish a priceless concept car out of the pile!
  5. I'm going to say yes because the car was in your basic area and also I can't imagine that there are many 1929 Cadillac armored cars left around to confuse it with. Was the asking price even close to realistic this time?
  6. Was this the basket case that was on eBay a few months ago with the starting bid at like half a million dollars?
  7. '70 Impala sport coupe, the one with the concave back window, pea soup green. I've alway wanted a big old Chevy to drive around town in but you can't touch anything decent for under 4K around here on the rare occasion one actually pops up. A four door hardtop mid 60's Bel Air with a 283 would be fine with me; I don't need something crazy
  8. How about all of the all-iron OHV Cadillac V8's Cadillac 331: 1949-1955 Cadillac 365: 1956-1958 Cadillac 390: 1959-1963 Cadillac 429: 1964-1967 (I gots two!) Cadillac 472: 1968-1974 Cadillac 500: 1970-1976 Cadillac 425: 1977-1979 Cadillac 368: 1980-1984
  9. Good decision. Hold out for a '70 like you used to have. Those double headlights really make the vehicle; a '71-'72 just isn't as cool.
  10. Everything really was way overbuilt back then. I need to post a photo of the frame of my father's '37 Packard when the body was off; talk about a truck frame! And the frame from the '40 ambulance is even beefier.
  11. VERY cool. It's amazing to see the improvised frame from the mid-section back; what happened to the rest of it?
  12. Don't stop now; it was just getting good!
  13. Definitely go for it; you will regret it later. I still regret not picking up a coworker's old BMW motorcycle before he sold it. It was an awesome deal but I just didn't have the cash at the time, unfortunately.
  14. Happy birthday, gentlemen!

    Sweetness!

Very cool. Can't say I've ever seen one in person and damn near forgot they existed otherwise. GET IT.
  16. There's a kid around here that drives one of the red ones with the gray cladding year-round; it's a nice little truck. Love to have one or its pickup counterpart; too bad prices are so retarded.
  17. The '59 Invicta wagon on eBay is tickling my fancy even though it looks like it's hit everything but the lottery and is like 80% complete. Too bad it's in California.
  18. Very cool. Wish like hell I had the storage space
  19. Face it. Everything from an earlier time that you hold special and sacred with fond memories will be cheapened, watered-down, repackaged, and sold to people you hate. That's why there's been like a 90% decrease in original songs, movies, television shows, etc. in the past few years. Everybody shuts their brains off and instead picks the next piece of 1970's or 1980's pop culture to be dusted off and marketed to faggy little kids that act nostalgic for a time period they never lived through.
  20. My grandfather smoked, had his first heart attack at 38, kept smoking, and died from his second heart attack at 59. My father smoked, had a heart attack at 42, and thankfully lived so he could quit. His cousin smoked, had a heart attack at 40, and died. I'm all set with continuing that pattern.
  21. Attachments suck. Imageshack sucks. Photobucket, people. It's idiotproof. Here's a 1911 Packard for your consideration:
  22. So the Cutlass sucks and THIS is your alternative?! Spend $30 on a carburetor kit for the Cutlass and quit whining. Your dignity will thank you later.
  23. More pictures!
  24. For real. When I die I'll be able to say I've seen an ALL STEEL 1959 Buick Invicta do f@#king WHEELIES!
  25. You're absolutely right. And that's why it's so hard to believe that they went directly from these cars to the big fat ugly pigs of the 1970's. 1971 and 1972 Eldorados weren't that bad (a member here has a beautiful black 1971 convertible that I'd LOVE to have), but the 1973-1978 models are an incredible step down from the 1967-1970 models. And every person out there thinks they're worth their weight in gold while the 1967-1970 generation is largely overlooked.
