Chrysler could and should have a 300 replacement sedan on the pacifica platform. If they priced it right, it would sell. Not in huge numbers but it would be a white space niche. Chrysler could have a large 3 row crossover, it may take some pacifica sales but they would add more brand sales overall than they would lose having that 'aspen' or whatver in the showroom, and that is a product that is hot and Jeep doesn't have. Again, use the Pacifica platform. Chrysler could have a smaller or midsize crossover for those who don't like Jeeps. A buick Lincoln sort of thing. It would sell also. Another segment Chrysler could invade is a competitor to Subaru outback. Jeep wont make a wagon and that would in effect be a defacto sedan replacement.

Chevrolet News:Chevy updates the Camaro for 2020
regfootball replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
there are cars available under 20 grand new. The Cruze was one of them. But to get further into your point, no one that age will have cash on hand to buy so it comes down to financing. And if credit arms could make auto loans and believe that the buyers would reliably pay them back, then you would have more available credit. I had a young coworker a few years ago that ended up buying a new Nissan Versa as his first car rather than a used car. Nissan had a good first time buyer credit program and the Versa was the right car. And the guy probably saved a lot of money with a new car under warranty and cheap gas compared to buying a used car he's have to stick a few grand into right away. Point is, he had a job (he was making 13 bucks an hour) and was still able to make that 230-250 payment. There does need to be more cars you can get into for that 300 bucks or so a month and so manufacturers do need to get more cars like that to market. But that i think is where Hyundai / Kia is successful. At the end of the day, the banks won't give credit to high risk buyers. So a young buyer has to learn to figure out how to get credit and not ruin it. It's called adulting. THere are still quite a few cheap cars available on the market. Also, lots of 2-3 year old CPO's. Current body style Cruzes are selling DIRT CHEAP as Cpo's on the market right now. those would be good cars for that 250-300 a month first time buyer. People rip the Cruze but the latest Cruze is a DAMN NICE CAR for anyone looking for a small cheap car, especially a first time buyer. If you grew up with Chevettes you will understand how nice the Cruzes are by comparison. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=512602314&zip=55379&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fsearchresults.xhtml%3Fzip%3D55379%26listingTypes%3DUSED%26maxMileage%3D30000%26sortBy%3DderivedpriceASC%26incremental%3Dall%26firstRecord%3D0%26marketExtension%3Don%26modelCodeList%3DCRUZE%26makeCodeList%3DCHEV%26searchRadius%3D100&listingTypes=USED&numRecords=25&firstRecord=0&modelCodeList=CRUZE&makeCodeList=CHEV&searchRadius=100&makeCode1=CHEV&modelCode1=CRUZE&clickType=listing https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=503332117&zip=55379&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fsearchresults.xhtml%3Fzip%3D55379%26listingTypes%3DUSED%26maxMileage%3D30000%26sortBy%3DderivedpriceASC%26incremental%3Dall%26firstRecord%3D0%26marketExtension%3Don%26modelCodeList%3DCRUZE%26makeCodeList%3DCHEV%26searchRadius%3D100&listingTypes=USED&numRecords=25&firstRecord=0&modelCodeList=CRUZE&makeCodeList=CHEV&searchRadius=100&makeCode1=CHEV&modelCode1=CRUZE&clickType=listing https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=506614089&zip=55379&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fsearchresults.xhtml%3Fzip%3D55379%26listingTypes%3DUSED%26maxMileage%3D30000%26sortBy%3DderivedpriceASC%26incremental%3Dall%26firstRecord%3D0%26marketExtension%3Don%26modelCodeList%3DCRUZE%26makeCodeList%3DCHEV%26searchRadius%3D100&listingTypes=USED&numRecords=25&firstRecord=0&modelCodeList=CRUZE&makeCodeList=CHEV&searchRadius=100&makeCode1=CHEV&modelCode1=CRUZE&clickType=listing https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=513200902&zip=55379&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fsearchresults.xhtml%3Fzip%3D55379%26listingTypes%3DUSED%26maxMileage%3D30000%26sortBy%3DderivedpriceASC%26incremental%3Dall%26firstRecord%3D0%26marketExtension%3Don%26modelCodeList%3DCRUZE%26makeCodeList%3DCHEV%26searchRadius%3D100&listingTypes=USED&numRecords=25&firstRecord=0&modelCodeList=CRUZE&makeCodeList=CHEV&searchRadius=100&makeCode1=CHEV&modelCode1=CRUZE&clickType=listing Civics, Fits, Sentras, Versas are other phenomenal choices for young buyers. Automakers are shy about leasing to young buyers because they are afraid they will trash the cars. -
Chevrolet News:Chevy updates the Camaro for 2020

sat in challenger when i was getting oil chaged on the van last weekend. The challenger is a usable car. People can sit in the back, you can see in and out of the car, and it has a decent trunk. Plus, the challenger is AWD available, which helps too. In short, the recipe for fixing the camaro to help SALES, is make it usable for people and add AWD on the options list. at least for the v6. -
Yes you would have to get two. Lol

Mitsubishi News: What Mitsubishi Dealers Want
regfootball replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Mitsubishi
for those fringe manufacturers in the truck market it doesn't make sense to have a huge investment by themselves. if they just want something to round out the product line and 'be in the market' vs. being a dominant player like ford and chevy- 24 replies

https://www.autoblog.com/2019/04/26/cadillac-ct5-vs-bmw-3-series-comparison/ CT5 trunk sucks, why is the 3.0 tuned down so much on horsepower??? base 2.0 has less power and CT5 is heavier.

a lot of the manufacturers that dont make a lot of trucks could really develop one unified global platform for mid size trucks. Nissan, Mits, PSA, FCA, just about anyone besides Ford and GM, could make one global truck platform and just build models off that.- 24 replies

i am actually not a Stinger fan, but it gets so much press in the buff books, and it seems to have so many fanbois. On social media anyways. But i think my question was as much about style as anything. Again, not a Stinger fan myself, but I don't think the CT5 will trump the Stinger on the style question for most folks....... and, if cadillac truly did put a small trunk in the CT5 then that's another something unforgivable that Cadillac keeps doing on the CTS / ATS etcc....
-
Just think about this, if you asked a bunch of people, would they pick the CT5, or the KIA STINGER if the answer is 'Stinger', then right there that tells you how much Cadillac botched this.......

I’m already bored with this thing. I still prefer my clean looking Malibu visually to this mix up of corned beef hash and 3 bean salad. But since Chevy won’t make a 2.0 RS Malibu with heated cloth and dual zone with sunroof, I guess if I drove this Hyundai and liked it.... you knever know

I may grow to like the interior but the exterior will still take a long time for me, to warm up to.

I like the write up. It’s brutally honest. And I do like the holla. (Repurposing trim pieces) so thanks. I agree with a lot of what you said. I get the feeling you’re not awestruck by this car. And I’d bet almost no one else is either. I like the strategy of selling a larger car than the 3 series etc. this is an advantage that caddy fans would take to like you pointed out. I have a hard time believing this car will sticker at 35 for starters. Like Tesla would either. My reasoning. The XT4 is mostly all above 35k. And the CT5 should price higher. And GM never keeps prices attractively low. The current CTs if you look at the actual units at dealers they sticker 55k and up. I don’t doubt the CT5 May have a lot on the lot that is less than that.... I am guessing they will start CT5 at about 42k and up. Most xt4’s on the lot are mid forties for starters so I imagine most ct5’s on the lot will be 46-50k for starters. Maybe the ct4 is what will be 35k. And will the ct4 have the same 2.0 engine? Why two models? Styling and interiors is what Cadillac needed to solve to have high hopes with this model release and for their brand. And I don’t think they have got it done here. It’s not a knockout or even a solid double inside and out. In the end I think it will drive well but I think this will be a market wallflower. Sad to say. Needs a bit more base engine. Needed styling outside. Needed awesome interior (although the GM picture album you posted it looks awesome in those pics inside ). Needs low price now just to hope to move these I think. Unless the 3.0 is cheap and popular. My advice for Cadillac is get the incentivized lease programs going otherwise not a lot to go on. Give me a ct6 or another brand.

Local dealer sent out a new ad! All wheel drive Focus for only 16 grand!? Where do I sign up???? When did they start making AWD Focus?

i tried looking for the Silverado's meat curtains and i don't think i found them. er, i mean, air curtains with as small as that lil' turbo looks under the hood there, you'd swear when showing your friends that maybe there's un alectic mootor under the hood of that thing. You could tell your friends you got the first electric pickup truck, they wouldn't be the wiser, and you could stun all your friends.

Nice rig. NICE PICS. i can't seem to get into the glue that Ford is sniffing these days, but they have made the newest Lincolns very salable.

The 3.0 is quite downgraded from power output vs. the CT6. Torque is similar but in the Ct6 its 400hp, and in the CT5 it's like 335. interesting move.
