  1. tundratalk.net says toyota is offering dealers 2000 bucks on some turdra models....... forbes
  2. oh satty, that sounds boss. I had a pizza slice at the auto show today and wanted pizza when i got home. wife didn't. that only adds insult to injury! post the recipe.
  3. it was sad at the auto show today. seemingly half of toyotas floor space devoted to the TURDRA. trying SO hard, they are it's just nice to see recognition that Toyota is not Jesus Christ on four wheels. i hope this is slathered ALL OVER THE PRESS. If I were Chevy's boss, I would be on the phone with my ad agency right now getting a commerical ready to air next week on the march madness games. There is NO WAY toyota can spin this in any postive way. They had better not even try, it would just make it worse. Really all you need to do is look in the interior of the Turdra to see how stupid toyota is about this. There is PIANO BLACK trim all over the inside. No one wants PIANO BLACK inside a pickup. It get's scracthed, smudgy, WTF? The Ford and Chevy are both great trucks. I am not a Dodge fan, but folks swear by them. The titan was a reasonable first try, but I'm not a fan. Toyota has tried REALLY hard. But i think they need to do their homework some more. And next time, don't make it ugly!
  4. tundra ugly overpriced cheap interior unsafe ugly TOYOTA DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ TO BUY OFF THE CRASH TEST DADDIESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA cry ass babies
  5. Imperial is about as hideous as a car can get. GOOD LUCK DCX.
  6. the Kia girl was working (it) again today. NICE. rack.
  7. I went again today. you are right about the toyota trucks. they were so obivous with them, its not even funny. talk about trying too hard. anyways, the tundra is crap. piano black on the interior of a pickup? CMON! the interior is simply terrible. cheap hard plastic and crappy swtichgear. terrible design. the seats aren't too bad though. i was sitting in a new chevy and the guy sitting next to me said to his friend, "i like this much better than the toyota" and his friend was like 'you like this better than, a toyota?' and he looks at his friend and says....."c'mon this truck has a much nicer interior! I just like it more" Chrysler's new products are terrible as far as interiors. their best interiors are still the old vans, the pacifica, the pt cruiser. the new GM truck interiors are nice. Very nice. Yes, the VW interiors are getting cheapened too. The new rabbit interior in black was YUCK. I don't think the Civic interior is very nice. And why spend 20g on that when an Aura XE can be had for that?
  8. i looked at new 07 SRX. did not get to sit in it, but man oh man the interior looks very nice. it is greatly improved. enough for me to say I like the SRX now. the dash top and new wood in particular looks really sweet.
  9. here's amy with one of my favorite plumpers, Charlotte Church doing mike jackson of all artists
  10. Nice A5. thx
  11. they were talking about her on the radio yesterday. now that i see pictures of her, i must say i am enamored. she's my kind of freight train. i would not mind battle scars from a lockdown with her. i.e. she can show up at my door anytime.
  12. Goddamn, why the f@#k would any journalist invest this much hate in this. The manuf that puts out a plug in hybrid first will be rewarded by the market. it's not about what the press thinks. So really, f@#k the press. Let history take its course and if GM makes 2010....excellent, if not, it's their image that suffers again. It's not worth Flint spouting goo about it in March 2007. All automakers are spewing mythical production dates for hybrids and fuel cells and this and that. Why don't we save up all our emotions until the product hits the street and judge it then? In the meantime, what the hell is wrong with showing a concept to showcase ideas and forward thinking? At least GM is Goddamn trying again. i don't see too many other manuf's trying to push the envelope with this. GM is saying, 'we are leaders committed to this'. GM knows the payoff to their bank account and image will be huge if they deliver this on time. I have a feeling we'll see it in calendar year 2010. Even if its in crude form and limited numbers.
  13. my priest told me too much castigation would make me go blind. and it hurts your hand. ---- thing is, if the threat of unionizing is there, all toyota has to do is threaten to close the plant and move the jobs back to japan. then, strong arm the government......."your jobs are gone unless you help us keep the union out, or unless you give us more money and incentives'. I can see this already. Toyota then can play good cop.....we want to keep your jobs here but YOU are not making it fair for us to do so. If GM tries that, shutting down a plant, its illegal or bad PR or bloody murder. If Toyota says we're shutting down, its the workers fault, or the union's fault or the government's fault. They have an out no matterwhat the scenario because they really don't care about contributing to the US economy as much as US companies do and as they do about sending back yen or whatever their money is. All the while the $$$$$$$ go back to japan. Take the new toyota truck plant as an example. Sure, they spent big money on it, but if they have to unionize it, chances are they would either move higher volume product to that plant and sell off another plant its being replaced by, or, flat out abandon the plant and sell it to any bidder. If they decide to keep the plant and run it with union, they will simply scale down production or find a way to cheapen the product to make up that union cost. Once reneg time comes around, then kill the plant. toyota can afford to walk away from it.
  14. if it's a rwd based chassis, AWD better be made available. any 3 series sized competitor from caddy has to match what the other big dogs are doing and take away any reason for northerners to not buy the car as well. no point in doing it in RWD if you don't make AWD an option as well. Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, Infiniti, they all learned that lesson. RWD alone is a sales deathknell. Why else would the DTS be the most sold Caddy?
  15. the G8 is a BIG car. I am sure it would do good police duty.
  16. DIE FROM A HEAD INJURY OR SOME FOOT PAIN, I KNOW WHICH ONE I WOULD CHOOSE. geez
  17. 03 maximas have beam axle and are a bit small and dash is a bit dull. the volvos rock, but have a small back seat. best interior of those choices. the GP, nah. the altima, just get an 07. altimas are a bit of a chick car too.
  18. not really liking the idea but i admit if someone stole my little girl, it would be nice to have some way of tracking where she is at to go find her.
  19. true. Minnesota nice is nothing more than a veiled way of being clicky and pricky. MN is a hard place to get to know people because outsiders are quietly scrutnized unless after about 3 years you get in their 'cicle of accpetance'. The more we can transcend over time above that backstabbing nordic attitude, the better with me. Be nice on the surface but behind it all be very unwelcoming 'until you pay your dues' is what it is. It's very white supremicist in an 'i'm superior' sort of way. Everything is 'fine' until outsiders challege the establishment.
  20. That's a tough one....maybe as an architect you could find something architect themed........
  21. chrysler interiors now are like my old boss (architect). He only knew how to design anything with gray colors. his favorite colors were white, cool gray, and warm gray. his personality had about as much depth as that also. If chrylser simply experimented with some color and nicer surfaces, their interiors wouldn't look so terrible. Like i said, the dash design of the sebring itself is not bad.
  22. new camry's plastics are cheesy bad...but near as bad as the new chryslers. a new studio does no good if the beancounters direct them to have plastic that is no better than a garbage can.
  23. msnbc it figures that those hippie swedes would have no issues with leaving an open book on everyone's personal lives. thing is, if it goes over there, the kumbayas in this country will suggest we need to monitor all our mail here too.
  24. UAW committed to organizing Toyota workers reuters Well, seems like toyota's arrogance and quest to cheap out has caught the ire of the UAW........seems like some of the current workers got P'oed.........consider Toyota officially above the radar now....LOL!!!!!! translation, "it's really up to them if they want to sign their own deathwish.......they might want to think twice, we could always close the plants..."
