The Toyota Prius is the most fuel efficient vehicle in its class, very roomy, relatively affordable and Hanna Montana drives one. Maybe that last point is why some people are beginning to show hostility towards the car that's become the Kleenex of hybrids. Andy Richter and James Adomain of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater have played off the Prius backlash in a faux car commercial pitting the Hyundai Elantra against Toyota's famous hybrid. Richter, formerly of Late Night with Conan O'Brien fame and not much since, plays the part of the frugal-minded Hyundai owner with an underlying anger issue, while Adomain gets all spiffed up to play the snobbish know-it-all with the Nickel Hydride battery pack. Forget about the totally erroneous statistics and the bogus sticker prices, just wait for the punch line. It's not the driveway shooting, but rather the fact this commercial is actually for the Nissan Sentra. Follow the jump to see it for yourself. Autoblog

The Ford Mustang has been a dominant force in the sales department well before the last generation Chevy Camaro rode off into the sunset. That changed last month. Ford's iconic pony car has been outsold by the Dodge Challenger by 293 units in February, as the Dodge coupe racked up 3,283 sales during a very challenging month. The Challenger's February victory could be a sign of things to come for the Mustang, as the Blue Oval's most recognizable vehicle is set to get bombarded with more competition coming from the 2010 Camaro. The Camaro, which goes into regular production on March 16, already has over 10,000 pre-orders on the books. The Mustang won't be left for dead, though, as the pony car is getting a major makeover this spring. In fact, one reason the Challenger defeated the Mustang in February could be the fact that some are waiting for the 2010 model. Automakers also slow production before retooling for a new model, meaning there are fewer 2009 Mustangs from which to choose. With the automotive world struggling to stay afloat, it's nice to know that we have the pony car wars to keep our minds occupied. Autoblog

Some actually...you know...swim most of the time. Not these guys.

We have very lazy fish. They like to spend most of their time lounging around on the rocks.

Did you learn that the hard way?

GM did indeed miss the boat (so did Ford) on large RWD cars, and it seems only by being an established player had the Charger kept its sales.
-
I personally have no idea how to fix it, as it's probably just the way the Invision Power Board has it set.

Well, after you telling us about people shoving small animals up their asses, I don't find much else quite as disturbing (or hilarious). -
Pssh, it's in my sig with my other favorite sedan, I love it. I think timing (being at least 2 years late to the party) and lack of advertising is the car's problem. The car itself is one of GM's very best. Read any review about it.

As recently as a couple years ago friends and I would create teams and set up bases. The XL would have made a great defensive battery. I've got 3 working Monster Super Soakers, so they do the job. Only problem is that they are so big and so powerful they limit maneuverability, and get tiring to carry after a while. They rocked though because of the pressure charge system. I still have a nice collection of workig (and non working) Super Soakers. The oldest being a SS 20...no idea where it is. My first real SS was an XP50. -

Truck drivers around here have a very bad habit of using roads that are way to narrow for them, and end up blocking the opposing lane as the drive down the road, or causing a mini traffic jam when they try to turn at narrow intersection and have to either wait for light for the adjacent intersection to turn green so the cars already there can go, or back up 3 or 4 times so they don't sideswipe them. In some cases an alternative route unavailable, but a lot of time there is a wider, less crowded road they could take instead. -
Hey turbo, tell me what you think:

I wasn't happy with how the daytime photos came out, so here's a few at night...and I got the Pleco too.

So, I called a few junkyards yesterday. Jack's is saying 350 but I don't think the old guy heard me properly...and wanted me to come down and take a look and hung up. Hollands said they had a 3.2 that I could get (I told them I wanted a complete drop) for $650. A lot cheaper than timing chains. I may go to both places tomorrow and check them out.

I don't much care for: People who can't go a constant speed People who tailgate...like a foot away from teh back of the car in front of them. I think there should be a law that say if you tailgate like that and get pulled over you should get kicked in the crotch. People who don't know what the hell a Yield sign means People WHO TYPE ENTIRE PARAGRAPHS IN CAPS. I want to hurt them. The C&G search engine. It's utter $h!. Seriously. I type in the exact thread name and it told me there were no results. I type in part of the name and it gives me results that don't even have that word in it.

My favorite Super Soaker of all time is the Monster XL. Wish I had bought one when it was sold in stores...they sell for more than double on ebay now. It was all downhill for Super Soakers after that. With the exception of the Flash Flood (I think it was called). Hell on a 90 degree summer day I still like using them. -

Chrysler LLC Reports February 2009 U.S. Sales, Citing Improvement in Retail Share; Launches Dodge Truck Month with 'No Charge HEMI®' Option Tuesday March 3, 3:56 pm ET - Chrysler LLC outpaces industry in retail - Chrysler LLC retail industry market share (excluding fleet) increased to 11.0 percent versus 9.6 percent in 2008, a 1.4 percentage point increase - Jeep® Wrangler sales increase 28 percent year over year AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler LLC today reported February U.S. retail sales of 66,658 units, a 26 percent decrease versus 2008; while the total retail industry was down a projected 35 percent. Chrysler retail industry market share increased to 11.0 percent versus prior 9.6 percent in February 2008 or an improvement of 1.4 percentage points. Total February 2009 U.S. sales include a fleet reduction of 71 percent year-over-year for the same period, furthering Chrysler's focus on emphasizing retail over fleet. "We see our retail number as a shining light of positive news," said Jim Press President and Vice Chairman - Chrysler LLC. "By working together with our strong dealer body, we will continue to move the needle on sales and service. Additionally, our focus on quality is evident in the 2009 Dodge Ram, which continues to demonstrate our ability to improve the quality of our products. Recently reported data is not representative of the positive progress Chrysler has made over the last year. In the last 12 months, our corporate warranty claim rates are down over 30 percent." Press added that even though Chrysler is seeing a firming of retail demand, the overall economy is still being influenced by the lack of available credit for consumers. "The Chrysler Financial TARP fund loan of $1.5 billion has started to provide positive traction in the marketplace," he said. "During this important historical time, we are making strong progress as we move forward with our stakeholders to continue the restructuring of our Company," said Press. "We have a special bond with the American people now and pledge to continue our efforts to deliver the best quality, better fuel efficiency and the best value in the marketplace." February Sales Highlights Chrysler LLC retail sales (excluding fleet) increased 26 percent over January, while retail industry was up 17 percent Chrysler ranked second in retail among the Detroit three With best-in-class fuel economy, sales of Dodge Journey continued to grow as sales reached 4,615 units Sales of the Dodge Challenger (3,283 units) continue to accelerate, and set a new monthly record Rock-solid Jeep® Wrangler sales increased 28 percent (9,088 units) compared to February 2008 "The availability of consumer credit from Chrysler Financial along with a consistent promotional message and advertising share of voice influenced the improvement in our February retail sales," said Steven Landry, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Service and Parts. "Overall our retail sales position in February can be attributed to an increase in awareness of our Employee Pricing Plus Plus program. It truly gives our dealers a message that resonates with consumers. We will continue this program in March. In addition, March is Dodge truck month, and we will add the availability of "no charge HEMI®" on the Ram 1500." March Incentives In March, Chrysler LLC begins Dodge truck month by delivering the award-winning 5.7-liter HEMI engine at no charge on the Dodge Ram 1500. The "no charge HEMI" option is worth up to $1,200 to customers, and is available in conjunction with the Employee Pricing Plus Plus program for 2008 and 2009 model year vehicles. Continuing through March 31, Chrysler LLC's Employee Pricing Plus Plus program offers the employee price to all customers purchasing or leasing a new 2008 or 2009 Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge vehicle. In addition to the employee price, customers are eligible for cash discounts of up to $3,500 for 2009 model year vehicles and up to $6,000 on 2008 model year vehicles. Plus qualified customers can obtain zero percent financing for up to 36 months through Chrysler Financial. Chrysler LLC's total February U.S. sales were 84,050 units (including fleet), a decrease of 44 percent. As evidence of the Company's continuing support of its dealers, it has reduced floor planning costs and inventory, keeping inventory fresh for customers. The Company finished the month with 350,966 units representing a 100 day supply. With the lowest level of inventory of its domestic competitors, total inventory is down 20 percent compared with February 2008 when it totaled 436,399 units.
