  1. I'm hung up over the Camry analogy because it is literally grasping at straws. I'm not a diehard GM fan so I certainly don't have "blinders" on. However this "it looks like a Camry" is as bad as other members likening every new car design to the Ion a year ago. The profiles are not similar, the only thing that is "similar is that they have high belt lines. However the shape of everything down to the character line is different. The proportions are different. The back is similar only if you consider it by the tail lights, even that isn't correct because the Camry's extend into the trunk lid, the LaCrosse's do not. turbo200, you have been very critical as of late, and while plenty of it is warranted, this time I think it's not. Oldsmoboi, I disagree about the polarizing design. The 300 sales dipped before the financial mess but the Charger's sales did not. Polarizing can work. However the market is a tricky thing to predict, so it can be a risk, I'll agree to that. The LaCrosse may not be polarizing but it's certainly not a copycat.
  2. Depends, Chrysler is supposed to make big gains in fuel efficiency with their new powertrains, so size of the car-based platform may not be as much of an issue.
  3. Dodge did built a handsome looking concept a few years ago like this. However that was based on the minivan platform, I wonder if this would be based on LY? If so that would make a badass new Rampage. It would be yet another example of Chrysler tapping a market no one else will (large RWD cars).
  4. They don't seem like the do web design, the seem like they do music or something in Africa... not sure, half the site doesn't work. The companies would I guess be different since in theory mind would Be Concept2Reality Graphics VS Concept2Reality. High Traffic Graphics has an interesting ring to it.
  5. My original fallback was CAC design...but taken. concept2reality graphics.com and concept2realitygfx.com are available
  6. It is? Link?
  7. Concept2Reality Graphics?
  8. Oh hell, it is taken after all.
  9. Thank you for doing the typing so I didn't have to.
  10. So does anyone else have any thoughts?
  11. Real wood too? Icing on the cake. Awesome.
  12. Left Lane News According to conditions written into the federal loan agreement that General Motors signed last month, the automaker will be forced to default on the loan should “any labor union or collective bargaining unit shall engage in a strike or other work stoppage.” This stipulation means that if the UAW was to strike, GM would be forced to pay back the loan immediately - forcing GM into bankruptcy. The United States Treasury set many conditions that would trigger a default, though the terms hadn’t been disclosed until earlier today when GM filed the necessary documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The deal requires the UAW to accept lowered wages by February 17, though many analysts have stated that the incoming Obama administration would have the power to change this stipulation. Union leaders met with GM officials earlier this week to talk about how the loan agreement’s demands would have to be met. UAW President Ron Gettelfinger stated that the union has no intention to reopen its labor contracts. The UAW says it will ask its members to vote on concessions before it agrees to them. Official negotiations are set to begin early next week. The UAW also says it plans to push the Obama administration to modify the terms of the loan after January 20, when the president-elect is sworn into office. “I can’t see that a strike would serve any benefit right now,” analyst Aaron Bragman of IHS Global Insight told the Detroit News. “It sounds like maybe some Republican union-busting language got in there, which would not surprise me.”
  13. Ah ok, well I got the links before they disappeared so I'll do it.
  14. Wow, thanks for posting those. That interior is stunning! :Edit: Where'd the post go?
  15. We could do this with any sedan and say "well, if you moved this, this, and this around it would look SO MUCH LIKE THE CAR I'M COMPARING IT TO!!!" Which sure, that's true, because when you get down to it, all sedans have a roof, a hood, a deck, four doors, headlights, tail lights, and four wheels. Not to get on your case and seem like a jerk or anything, it just irks me when people say "this looks almost exactly like this," even though it actually doesn't.
  16. First, to your earlier post, I doubt most people buy a BMW these days based on looks, as they're all overwrought and have terrible design harmony. They buy them because of the badge and that they drive well. I'm sorry dude but you need to look more closely at the cars you're comparing. The Camry looks like the LaCrosse in profile (or any view)? Let's compare. Yeah...I'm thinking no.
  17. I dislike gray interiors too but in its defense even high end BMWs and Mercedes offer interiors in gray.
  18. Couldn't disagree more.
  19. I noticed that the concept had a sharper upkick on the rear door. You're right about how the line had to compromise with the door handles, and flush ones would have been better and more unique. Still, the end result is very good nonetheless.
  20. As long as they are better than those stupid Traverse ads with raining shoes.
  21. My problem with the Lucerne has always been with everything forward of the A Pillar. It's only gotten worse with the Super. This includes that huge overhang. This is a far superior car.
  22. Can't remember if I've had Stewarts before, but A&W is really good, the best of the mainstream root beers. It has a very smooth taste to it.
  23. Now that is very interesting.
  24. You're welcome balthazar. I see what you're saying about the chin spoiler, that may be it. I didn't notice the buck tooth thing until you mentioned it. However I still like it, perhaps the foglight housing of the production car could have been shaped more like the concepts, but again minor quibbles that are just my preference. Just curious, what do you think about the roofline/deck? I much perfer the production car's more graceful and longer version. I think the car as a whole looks less "thick" than the concept. better sheetmetal to glass ratio.
