This thing actually debuted at SEMA. It has a 260 hp. 4.0 V6 with ram induction, sport tuned suspension, SRT wheels, dual exhaust, the scoop, 1 inch lowered ride hight, Fire Red Pearl paint, and an interior that is dark slate with fire red stitching and accents for contrast. Certainly the van could benefit from the ram induction, sport tuned suspension (the suspension tuning one of the complaints about the new van), dual exhaust, and possibly lowered ride hight. Wheels wouldn't make a bad option either.

Fixed, and completely agreed.

Thanks, a sad, though not unexpected read. I don't think it will disappear entirely but certainly we will see a lot less of it and V8's in general, which is a damn shame. We should be able to choose if we want something that gets 35 mpg and sounds liek a lawnmower or not. There should be choices not mandates. I want one of both types, and I WILL drive a V8 car in the future. To hell with CAFE. As has been the argument about Zeta though, it's the powertrains that determine the efficiency of the vehicle, nowhere do they mention that they need to switch to FWD to get good fuel economy.
-
I wonder about that too. The Avenger's styling has been criticized, although I don't have a problem with most of the dash design besides the gauge cluster's design. The door panels could be better though. The Sebring's interior really hasn't been criticized for it's design, to the best of my knowledge.

I'd have to check, but one can guess the same technologies GM could implement in Zeta to meet Cafe could work for Chrysler. Hybrids are a possibility, fuel efficient powertrains are too. The Hemi could be a lower volume trim level of the LXs, a Hybrid powertrain could very well fit in there, and the new family of V6 engines will be more efficient and feature technologies like MDS to help them. There's a lot of uncertainty in the market, but I do no this: Chrysler took the chance and brought RWD back to the market for the average person to be able to afford. They didn't sit around wasting time debating on if it should be FWD or RWD, they don't have employees trying to kill off the platform and cause turmoil and unrest, and they haven't, at least yet, decided to completely abandon a good platform. Zeta is an excellent platform, I believe it's even better than teh current LX in some ways, and when we are so close to having more of these RWD machines to choose from, suddenly it's being killed off left and right, leaving us with the G8 and Camaro thus far. It's pretty frustrating. Instead of finding creative solutions to meet CAFe and keep Zeta, there are those at GM that want it to build more me-too cars to compete with Japan Inc. instead of being different, and giving people clear alternatives to them.

Amazing,...it's nice to see Cerberus putting its money where it's mouth is and not just talking about changes but actually doing them, and at an amazing pace too. can't wai to see the new interiors...although the Compass still should be axed. The article reg posted claims that the revised Sebring / Avenger will hit the market late in the month...so when do we get to see them? I do hope they cleaned up the Sebring's exterior.

Exactly.

In my view, if the Impala is not going to be RWD then it might as well not exist. It'll have nothing besides a little more room to differenciate it. Anyway, if the goal if for Chevy to be green, then a bigger sedan that will be less efficient seems pointless under that image. The fact that Chrysler isn't planning to kill off it's LX/LY platform shows that CAFE isn't the reason Zeta is being shunned. I'm sure fuel efficient powertrains can be adopted for Chrysler's platform, so they'll do the logical thing and stuff some in there, like a Hybrid, not kill teh entire platform.

I'f I'm reading this right GM-DAT is rescuing underused GME plants because not enough peopel want their products?
-
It's a waste of an excellent platform that in all of the reviews thus far it has been praised for it's poise, tautness, suspension, brakes, and everything.
-
Since no one has given me a straight answer in other threads I'll make a thread just for the question. Someone please tell me how a FWD Impala is anymore efficient than a RWD? Is is it cost effective if a new FWD platform must be engineered for it, unless they place to use the G-Bodies or bring the W-Bodies back for yet another round? All I know is the cancellation the Impala really irritates me, far more so than any other things I've heard recently, including Chinese Dodge subcompacts. Unless someone can come with a good explanation, the only reason I think that it was canceled, and I'm sure others feel the same way, is because of the pricks inside GM that are deadset on killing Holden and killing Zeta just because it came from Holden. These people seem to think that enthusiasts will settle for yet more FWD cars when we've already got enough. It's a stupid and childish move. GM shouldn't even bother with a new Impala or Impala replacement. Just kill it off. What's the point of it besides being slightly bigger than the Malibu? Nothing, because it offers nothing unique. That's my rant. I expect an answer to my original question.
-
I really wanted to see a RWD Impala. What the f@#k is the point of even having a replacement if it's not going to be different than the Malibu? It's a little bigger, woopity f@#king do. If it's RWD it'll be something different and unique and give buyers a clear alternative. If it's FWD I hope like hell it fails miserably.

I'm getting really tired of this. You know...times like this I'm glad I'm a Chrysler fan at heart. Sure they make mistakes, but at least they have the f@#king balls to produce RWD vehicles and then don't have crazy nutjobs trying to kill off good platforms and shove FWD replacements down our throats because some people have a vendetta against part of the company. -
I don't like the politics and personal vendettas that go on inside GM. Instead of trying to destroy parts of the company they should be working together as a whole for the greater good of the company and fight against Japan Inc not itself.

I had a hunch it was LimeWire Do you know anyone with a copy of XP?

Let's not forget the superior gaming support for PCs!

Still one of may favorite Corvettes. Much better looking than the C5 that came after, and I still somewhat like it better than the C6, although at least the C6 isn't a blob anymore.

See,w hat has also made me curious is why on earth would you pay for this just because it's new when you could pay the same and get a perfectly good and far superior used car for the same or even less money. I paid $2,100 for mine after all, and I got for my car for my money, that's far safer, more powerful, nicer inside and out, and much more features. This question also applies to who would buy a Chinese $h!box new whenever they make it to US soil. Of course in India it's different, but I'm just saying why would anyone in a developed country like in Europe or America where they've sold good cars for years buy one? I guess some people just gotta have `em new...even if the break after 3 days of ownership and fall apart after a month. -
Once you try Firefox you will never go back to IE again. It's more secure, more user friendly, and has far more features and add-on features than IE. Every person who has been skeptical about switching to IE that I convince to try loves it after they try it and never goes back to IE. My girlfriend for example, hated it when I first put it on her computer and told her to try it instead of IE. Now she wonders what she'd do if she ever had to go back. Fortunately, she'll never have to. :AH-HA_wink: -- I lived with Vista basic for a week and found it to be perfectly acceptable. Had no problems putting Firefox, Avast! Antivirus and Ad-Aware 7 on it.

Depends on the trim level -
I've spent years on Macs and years on PC's. Easier to work with? Surely not. Let's start with file organization. Mac OS doesn't allow you to arrange them buy type, size, name, etc. It does it the way it wants and to hell what you want. When you drag files into a folder it places them where ever you let go of the cursor, and doesn't organize them into a grid, unless you have it as a list. It doesn't let you view thumbnails either, you have to wait for the preview image to show up, something that doesn't always happen. Let's move on to ergonomics. How long did it take Apple to finally put USB port of the FRONT of the damn tower? You still have to turn the freakin' IMAC around to plug the USB device in the back of it, because the idea of one mounted on the front is a concept they can't seem to grasp. Sure, There's USB ports on the Keyboard, but since there's only 2 in back often times one of the keyboard's ports are being used by the mouse. Let's not forget that they are $h!ty USB 1.0 ports, and half of the devices you plug into give you the pop-up error that there's not enough damn power. Let's move on to stability. I cannot tell you how many times I've gotten the error "The Application has quit unexpectedly" I've had PhotoShopcrash more times than I can remember, and I've had Maya completely lock up. Then there's the real fun stuff when a program crashes with no warning at all, and not so much as an error. And no this isn't on one computer, or an old Mac. This has happened from G3's up to G5's and IMACs. How long did it take them to finally build a mouse with 2 buttons and a scroller? Welcome to 10 years ago! Yes you can buy a third party mouse, but why should you have to? Every PC that comes with a mouse has 2 buttons and a scroller. Easier to push Cntrl+Click? In what world? As for looks, I'll admit they are clean and minimalist, but they're all the same. What's beautiful about PCs is there infinite customizability. There are Hundreds of styles of ATX Towers to choose from. You build a PC and then upgrade various parts with newer parts that will fit to it and choose between many brands and types. Far more freedom than a Mac. And of course Macs cost more than a comparable PC. Do they even have Quads yet? A silver box is nice, but I'll take my Tower and OS over it any day.
