  1. Why oh why could they have not made the sedan's detailing as nice as the coupe's? The sedan has those nasty headlights and tail lights that bulge out from the body for no apparent reason. The coupe's are nice and flush, which proves there's is no need for them to be bug-eyed. I love the black and tan interior...although I like the 4-spoke wheel much more.
  2. I'm all for it if it helps keep the Zetas alive...but I still can't help but poke fun at it.
  3. My goal is to buy a Camaro and then a Challenger.
  4. Very passionate thread indeed, there's a lot to go through. PCS - I do like you generally, outside of the forum on msn we have good discussions, however lately the way you're posts are worded they rub people the wrong way, including myself. When you go on a bout how much you hate Holden, and how Zeta, a platform many of us are excited about should die because it's from Holden and not GME and GME is the greatest thing to happen to GM and everything else sucks, yeah it bothers people. Onto Zeta and CAFE. You, or anyone else, cannot sit there and tell me that with all of the vast resources and intelligent minds GM has at it's disposal that there is not a way to offer cars like the Impala, G8, Camaro, etc. and be able to meet CAFE. I refuse to believe that. You can't tell me that buy fitting more G8's and Impalas wit smaller engines and hybrid technology and have far fewer but still available V8's for those that want them, that it wouldn't help balance CAFE out. When you consider the things Mercedes and BMW can do to help improve fuel economy and alternative energy, you're gonna tell me that GM can't do that either? All of this wondering what to do to meet CAFE regulations...Why not offer more 4 cylinder/6-speed powertrains? Why not offer the 2-mode hybrid system in cars and not just trucks where the fuel economy boost will be much greater? When will the Malibu, and Aura and others benefit from an advanced hybrid system instead of the mild one? Why not offer both systems, for budget minded, and for those who can afford the expensive one? If some guy can take his Scion xB, make it RWD and stuff a Chevy V8 in it, than certainly GM can find a way to fit smaller powertrains into bigger cars, and hybrid drivetrains into big and small cars. What about making the Zeta's E85 compatible while we're at it? There's so many options to consider besides "f@#k it, kill Zeta even though many people are looking forward to it, and piss them off by replacing these cars with FWD cars. Who cares if we alienate a few thousand, hundred thousand people? When did that make a difference? When did giving people products they actually want make a difference? Let's kill a brand while we're at it. No one cares right?"
  5. I can see the embarrassment now if they gave us the 1.4 without the turbo...a brand new Astra or Cobalt loosing drag races to 90's economy cars like Neon, Prizms, Shadow, Escorts!
  6. Yeah but the the GTO suffered from price gouging, and the fact that it didn't look like many people thought a GTO should look like. The ST looks like what a Pontiac El Camino should look like, and as long as they don't gouge the prices it shouldn't meet the same fate.
  7. So Camino, are you gonna debadge and it rebadge it as an EL Camino?
  8. Considering that's only 2 I'd rather keep both and kill, say the TrailBlazer, or Envoy, or both, or Colorado/Canyon. Let those die so Zeta can live.
  9. Katana FTW!
  10. Funny and yet so true. See, at BMW, they are doing things like producing cars that can run on Hydrogen and you can buy them NOW (even if it's the 7-series at the moment), and they'll have Hybrids too I think. At Mercedes they're making a 4-bangers that debuts in the S-Class that makes 250+ hp and gets 40+mpg Yet they are all RWD
  11. This thread inspired me to fix my dishwasher
  12. You know what the one of car sold by GME the gets really good reviews from the auto rags on that side of the pond is?
  13. Yikes, from the side the proportions really do look out of wack. It seems that the wheelbase is too short and/or the front overhang is too big. But from other angles it looks fine. While I know a lot of people don't like the Avenger period, IMO it suffers from this too. Taken from the side it looks stubby and out of proportion, but from other angles it looks a lot better. It's ashame they half assed so much of the car. I certainly hope they do a damn good job with the new interior and work on the suspension and powertrains.
  14. That poor truck really took a beating it sounds like, but it did it's job and protected you.
  15. I wonder where our GE fridge we bought last year was made.
  16. I think you just insulted the golf cart Camino.
  17. You might get more credit in your postings if you didn't pull figures out of your ass in every post you make. Anyone who knows about the El Camino can easily make the connection to the ST. The shape is right, the power is right, the RWD is right. Not to mention that the Ute (and Commodore) have already reviewed rave reviews from the press, so it's easy to recommend it. It might be different if the cars were middle-of-the-road but they are not, they are excellent. Once again, you should really think before you type, and for once gets some real facts.
  18. Ah but Mechs have come a long way since Gigantor.
  19. If you want to show compassion for your "brothers and sisters" you shouldn't be advocating trying to kill Holden, or at the very least you should keep advocate to Zeta alive. Your logic is well, retarded at best, stupid at worst. People won't cross shop a tiny roadster and a large pick-up car. They neither compete with it other nor do they compete in the same segment, or price bracket, or anything for that matter. If you'd pull your head out of your ass and stop using immature stereotypes to attempt to get your misguided points across, and maybe think before you type, you might realize this. The ST can easily carve out a niche for itself. Someone who is single, married but with no kids, or looking for a second car that can carry weekend project materials or what have you and larger objects that wouldn't fit in a sedan, but doesn't want a sluggish truck that handles like, a truck, would be interested in it. Plus all of the El Camino enthusiasts that are dying to get their hands on one.
