Hmm...nope, that wasn't me. My Dad would love to have another '55 Chevy convertible with the continental kit.... But, not in the finances at this point, I'm afraid . *sighs* Sure wish I had the finances to help him get another '55 ... as well as a Monte Carlo to drive around in, tho he and Mom think they have one now....best not get me started Heh...then again, sure wish I had the finances for a few other things as well.... Sorry, wasn't me, Camino. But, am curious as to what you found . dammit, bv, why'd you go and have to post those pics? *sighs* I love going to the Saturday night races in Freeport IL ... partially because a friend's cousin races there. Sadly, I have yet to go this year . Course, I haven't been to a cruise night yet this year either.... Somethin' must be wrong . Holy crap, Dave ... that's nuts. I take it nobody else was around to watch them ... or to keep an eye on the cars? Aye. I had one dude sit (rather lean, more or less) on my '81 MC SC (admittedly the MC that is the worst shape of my family) a few years ago at a cruise night, nonetheless. I didn't say a word, just watched him from a distance ... one of his buddies noticed me staring (OK, perhaps glaring is a better word) at 'em ... and nudged him to get away. I checked out the spot where he had been ... yet another new scratch. What did he drive away in? A 1970s Dodge. I was livid ... how could a "car guy" do that? I haven't seen him since. Heh. Well, hopefully your agent will be able to get somewhere...and give you some good news .

I was going to post in this thread ... but, something caught my eye.... I agree with this statement. I've noticed several people point to the impracticality of coupes. But, if you compare today's coupes to yesterday's coupes, coupes are a leap forward in practicality. For instance, none of my MCs ('72, '76, '79, '81, '87) have a fold down back seat for access to and more versatility for the trunk. My '00 LS did. None of my MCs have a passenger seat that easily scoots forward to allow easier entry into the rear seat for the passengers. My '00 LS did. Food for thought, anyway..... Yes, hopefully! Did they give you a timeline for them to let you know their findings/results?
-
You have NO idea how much I want to...... *sighs* But, I'll be heading to Goodletsville TN next weekend (June 23-25) for the MC Nationals....
-
*nods* Point taken ... and I understand the logistics/mathematics of this scenario. But...in the case of your accident, the claim would be going against your policy ONLY because (from what I gathered in your previous post) the other driver's policy wouldn't cover it all. To me, that's a whole 'nother ballgame.... *shrugs*
-
Arg. I'd try to come ... except, I'll be in Goodletsville TN for the MC Nationals..... He he he...yep, I knew what ya meant about Junior . Too bad you don't live closer ... we all could go together. I think it'd be neat to see it with some "car enthusiasts" .

*raises eyebrow* Am I the only one that is a little leery of the "may not have to pay a deductible"? RBB, I'd make darn sure that they are not going to make you pay a deductible on this ... after all, as you noted, you were NOT at fault. As such, you shouldn't have to pay anything to get your car repaired.... At least, that's my humble opinion . Good luck ... and do keep us posted on this situation.
-
Grrr...I mentioned a visit first in this thread ... he he he . Ssssooo...hope I can come with you, too, when I'm in Michigan again! Ohhh....you haven't been to the Woodward Cruise yet? Oh my ... yes, I'd say that needs to be on your list first . I was there a couple years ago ... and loved it!!!! The First Gen MC Club had its Eastern Meet at Woodward that year. LOL! That got a roar of laughter from the crowd that was in the theatre when I saw it.... Darrell was the 2nd generation (76 or 77) MC . Sadly, some of the references didn't immediately come clear to me ... I suspect that was, in part, because I was watching it with "non car enthusiast" friends. If I was with some of my MC or other Chevy buddies ... I'm sure they would've jumped out more at all of us ... which is why I want to see it again ... he he he.
-
Hrm. Well, yes, that would be rare ... since the MC ended production in 1987 ... and didn't come back, well, Chevy claims it came back, in 1995..... At any rate, I don't know ... maybe I see more of the youth into the older cars ... because I look for/seek out/associate with them more ... and pay less attention to the youngsters with the newer cars.... *shrugs* Cort, "Mr MC" / "Mr Road Trip", 32swm/pig valve/pacemaker MC:family.IL.guide.future = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/ Models.HO = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/trainroom.html What's it like to buy your favorite car brand new? "What kind of car is that? Who makes it?"

Well, if they're asking this question AFTER they've already hit you, I can see why you'd be sick of hearing it . Seriously, tho, the emblem does look like where factory would've put it..... Welp, today, I went to see "Cars" on the UltraScreen, ironically with 3 "non-car" friends, and enjoyed it immensely! Along with the storyline surrounding the Piston Cup, the movie made commentary on the "Mother Road", Route 66, and how towns along that road were once thriving places ... but went downhill after the interstates, particularly I-40, were built. I came away wanting to go on a road trip . AND....one of the announcers of the races ... the one on the right as you look at the announcers ... was a 2nd generation (1976 or 1977) Monte Carlo! So....if anyone else is interested in getting together to see it, I wouldn't mind seeing it again!

I suspect some of my MC buds are at that local cruise night, tho, I'm not sure. The First Gen MC Club had its Eastern Meet at Carlisle last year.... Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend .
