A blunt rectangular grille on an otherwise 'swoopy' design always looks like a drunken mistake. -

Not calling it a negative at all, just adding some clarity RE Rivian being in regular production right now. According to what was presented here, they are not, yet. Hopefully Rivian DOES insure the best product they can build come out of the gate- that has not unilaterally been the case over at Tesla. -
'58 Corvette, top off, white w a silver cove, mint, motoring down a local 2-lane.

Most auto loans don't end up costing you much at all in interest- you stand to save untold 10s of thousands on one's mortgage tho. I did just that, but when I looked at the amortization schedule for a car loan, it just wasn't worth waiting X number of years to save the relatively piddling amount of interest.

Money = 'the financial', no?

Accord at least is in trouble. Down 42% in 5 years... and haven't seen what 2020 is doing to date. EDIT : 31% decline, not 42%. See chart a few posts down. 2020 is looking dismal, tho.

What did you buy it with; bottle caps?

Traditionally, we've put down as much down payment necessary to get the payment to no more than 2.5% of monthly income. That's just where we're comfortable being. Which means by financial guidance methods - I should be fine at 4 times that payment. Hmmmm...

As I’ve stated before; my current daily is 16 yrs old & have been driving it for 14 yrs.

Is there an age where you more seriously consider ‘splurging’ on a vehicular purchase? Say, your mortgage is long done and any kids are on their own; do you ever think ‘it’s my turn now’?

Being I JUST heard this morning on a financial show that global EV market share is 2.6%, I guarantee you 'carb people' are far more numerous than "1%". Not carb owners, but people who understand / work with carbs. Pull the plug on the electronic carb - no one is going to worry/check if your '81 is factory spec or not. I realize they're aware of / working on it; so are every computerized interface/system's companies. It hasn't eliminated the problems anywhere, entirely, yet. -

Only a matter of time before hacking & viruses are a defacto worry of EVs / any car with over the air updating. -
Not if you had a Corvette. A place for everything & everything in it's place.

HUGE range between 3" and 12", dontcha think? Chevy shown here has more ground clearance than your 4x4 Trailblazer. That's just wrong. Looks like it has 'Skyjacker' air shocks, aired all the way up. From 15 feet away, you can see the gas tank. Horrendous. You two are nuts.

^ You have to be kidding, if you're talking specifically about ride high. It's DOUBLE where it should be. You can change the oil without a jack !!

Ford Model A roadster hotrod, white top, black body. Beat up '72 Ranchero, rolling. '39 Cadillac sedan, white, at limo business, but sitting on all flats / an advertising 'sign'.

LOLOLOLOL The gasser 'trend' came straight out of racing; lift the front end even with the (raised for big tires) rear, to aid in weight transfer. Very real world results. Then they came up with altered wheelbase drag cars, and the gasser as leading race tech was surpassed. (and the funny car was born). But donks AREN'T gasssers.

Supposedly, new leaf AND coils 'settle', but it's a very minor amount. Not as much as a full inch, maybe not as much as a half inch. That's very short term. The long-term change is known as 'losing spring tension'. The spring retains it's spring load rate, but it's ability to hold said weight at the original height sees some lessening. This may, eventually, be as much as 2 inches, maybe a bit more. IMO, neither is at play here - 'settling' will still have this Chevy riding like a Jeep.

Talking with a new customer today, older guy (60), said he 'really like your truck, have you thought about selling it?' and 'Oooo, it's a diesel!' I can't let mine go until I line up a replacement... and I look frequently... AND we never talked a number... but it's good to know there's potential buyers out there. I'd rather sell it privately. But the new truck prices are crazy... and I don't even need a High Country or LTZ. That said, another customer just got a brand new Denali Crew Cab/Short bed 5.3. White, gorgeous. Crewcab Denali 1500s sticker in the mid 60s. He got it for $50K. Now... if I can get a $50K truck down to -say $37K, I'm a buyer.

Rant on : This crap drives me nuts. '62 Biscayne 409 / 4-spd car, obviously meticulously restored. Auctioned via Mecum : https://www.mecum.com/lots/IA0711-112558/1962-chevrolet-biscayne/ My beef is, for some damned reason, restorers read a spec somewhere and stick these ridiculous springs underneath. Let's do a lil math. Period Chevs wore 14" rims; that's 7" from the center to the edge (actually- slightly inboard of the edge). Tire sidewall is about 4" by my eye. Rocker chrome is ABOVE the wheel centerline, maybe an inch. That's an even TWELVE inches of the rocker off the pavement! These cars NEVER LEFT the factorty riding that ridiculously high. I'm constantly mind-boggled when I see this, but exactly this is offered as "correct".
