  1. I do expect EV sales to rise; without question. But as of last year's figures, the market share is very very low, still. Automobiles were not a replacement for the horse. It was a brand new product segment. People didn't trade in a horse on a new car, and they didn't plow their fields with a new car. The TRACTOR replaced the horse. ?
  2. 1. There was no pandemic in 2019. 2. Incorrect on your second statement: Internal Combustion-engined vehicles were never as low as 7% of all auto sales (gas + steam + electric) in the beginning of the industry.
  3. ^ Ya: Custom Trail Boss / Z71 combo :
  4. End of calendar year 2018, it was 7.8% in CA. That's not 'pretty high', that's not 'moderately high', that's not even 'sorta maybe OK-ish'. It's LOW. Maybe 'terribly low'. Nationally, EV sales peaked that year. IE; they were down in 2019. I don't have the figures for '19 in CA, so I'll just leave it at that.
  5. I believe red tow hooks = Trail Boss, so factory plus a 2-in lift. But yeah: lofty.
  6. 1. He doesn't mind the drive, and he's 2nd shift, so he's driving off-peak. 2. He's making more money right out of school than most people make after working white collar for 25 years, so the incentive to drive is high. You're kidding, right?
  7. You’ve got a hellva commute, or do you travel FOR work? My son is still based out of my house but works in NYState, he drives about 36K a yr right now.
  8. How unprofessional, and with a 'professional' vehicle. So in other words; what looks like a dream for a cargo/delivery van is more like "WATCH THAT FIRST STEP, DUDE!"
  9. From 7.19.19 to 8.22.20 I put 8758 miles on my truck. Where you always scampering to, blu? MAN, does Gov't know how to incinerate your money! - - - - - RE the van illustration above; you'd think a serious manufacturer would know not to present a van with NO ground clearance, breakover or departure angle clearance.
  10. I believe the industry vernacular for the above is 'Pump & Dump'.
  11. Really nice lookin' :
  12. Pontiac is also a six-five, but anything akin to that color wasn't factory (nor on the Riviera).
  13. Why on earth would anyone need to quickly disconnect their brake lines???
  14. I hope you get it! My issue with the AT4s is; while I certainly like the appearance, the 2" of lift is the last thing I need/want. Still would like to see a 'Street Boss' variant lowered 2" from stock. But otherwise, a great combo. I still shop the locals online, and a Crew Cab / Standard Bed is still amazingly uncommon. That's my only desired combination. I would also have to strongly consider the 3.0L TD.
  15. Over-saturation and mass confusion, along with a healthy dose of 'we-don't-know-what-the-fuck-we're-doing'.
  16. They did contact me for permission to use the name, tho.
  17. Yes- there is some pitting. Most is very minor... some are larger. Overall it's not bad, and many would shine it as best they could & live with it. But you couldn't polish them all out. Nervous about polishing so much that details/edges are altered. I do have a spare one tho. I wanted to have ONE nice material thing in my life... plus they say money is germy.
  18. CUVs are used exactly like sedans for the most part. As proof : the rear cargo area is often about 1.75 feet deep; basically useless. (not unlike most sedan trunks).
  19. I would initially think that ocnblu in his line of work, would have a decent line on it, except for the teeny fact that body shops never rechrome anything. Ever. If they could order pre-painted body panels, (Fiero days?), they wouldn't even paint anything. Robert is actually the closest; quote was $625. Half-heartedly, I'm looking at 'chrome alternatives', but my preference is the real thing. The majority of trim is stainless, but there's other pieces to do, also. Namely: bumpers. Sigh.
  20. No one is close yet on the chrome price...
  21. Gauge pod section of B-59 speedometer, about 18" wide and white, or 'pot' metal. Got a quote to have it rechromed. Any guesses?
  22. Normal, but with a case of slight bloat. Too much black plastic. Pass.
  23. Just like any other CUV... so does that mean from a design standpoint it's not at all aspirational? ? lower front fascia looks very cheap / one-piece molded. And I LOL'd at the faux exhaust outlets : I have always thought an EV should be akin to an engine option, and not look significantly different from the existing product. We'd all (consumers & OEMs) would have a controlled analysis of just how desirable EVs are if as much else were equal as possible. Not sure why it was ever a thing to have a wildly different design just because of the powertrain. Bolt looks absolutely fine in it's segment, IMO.
