Was following a circa '62 Corvair Monza coupe for a good 5 miles, little old couple in it. Good looking design from behind.

Too bad mercedes owners had to sweat for another 20-some years vs. the DeSoto owner. - - - - - This canNOT possibly be possible:

Nice Mustang! Maverick 2- & 4-door have nearly identical rooflines- the 4-door's is a tiny bit shorter and makes a tiny bit more room for heads in the back seat... going to quote myself on this one :- Random Thoughts Thread

I believe that the vast majority of people 'mellow' or 'get nicer' as they pass into middle age, tho of course there will always be a small quantity that goes the other way. I was talking to my mother on this one and she said she used to wonder, as a girl, what it would feel like to be -say- 50. She says she doesn't feel (mentally) any different, and 50 is solidly in her rearview mirror. - - - - -- Random Thoughts Thread
Every few years I wander thru the friends of friends of people I wnt to HS with, to check up on just how wrinkly, spotted, flappy & old some of the hot girls from HS have become. Yikes. - - - - -- July Auto Spotter
A 'pillared coupe' in marketing speak, a 2-door sedan in actuality.- Random Thoughts Thread

'67 Chevy Sportvan, cute; set up with 'pop-top' roof, real solid/clean shape, in shop for front disc brake conversion. '54 Ford F-600 flatbed, all original unrestored, odometer said 11996. Amazing condition- no way did the odo roll over. At shop after sleeping for 11 years, owner wants it gone thru to get it road ready.- Project INVICTA
Today's work : • sorted thru my box of various '59-72 horns, adjusted the original '59 horns until they honked again, then tested them vs. others so I have my '72 Riviera 4-note horn quartet together again. Have a 12-V regulated power supply unit, but it can only fire 1 horn at a time- need a car battery to blort all together. Will refinish the horns cosmetically. • put the car up on jackstands. Need to drill my gas tank to accept a 1/2-in fuel elbow, and it would've hit the trunk floor as is. Came up with some rubber bushing to space the tank down about a 1/2-in and clearance everything. Need to go buy a 7/8-in drill bit to get the fitting into the tank tho. Also need to buy and modify an universal fuel sender, as the original is shot.- Industry News: Federal Government To Automakers: Tell Us Your Secrets
Just about every level of Gov't tacks on a 'revenue ticket' in just about every operation. It's automatic. Why in the hell should the local gov't take $9 of my money/year because I have a dog? What expense does the township incur due to my dog ownership? (Note: I do not have any dogs.) This reminds me of the 2017 census questionaire, where they wanted bank account numbers and balances down to the penny and any/all other sources of income, including cash. There was the usual threat of fines/imprisonment, mixed in the a heaping measure of threatening language. Big Gov't can take a flying fuk at a rolling donut.- July Auto Spotter
RE Trailblazers as discussed above~ I have a 'visual filter' which automatically engages to filter out modern vehicles- they're just amorphous blobs to me mentally. I can switch it off tho. RE TBs, my neighbor across the street has one see everyday. I switched the filter off and saw 2 TBs yesterday and 2 today. Does seem like a very good longevity rate for a vehicle 10 years out of production.- July Auto Spotter
Smaller displacement, same block.- Random Thoughts Thread
To be clear, this is a '37 Ford with a Lincoln motor. Interestingly: the builder lowered the whole front clip vs. the body and increased the height of the windshield accordingly. Windshield glass height matches side window opening on production cars.- Random Thoughts Thread
An unassuming elderly couple, lazily leaning against their brand new, limited production/one-of 630-built, fuel injected '57 Bonneville convertible.- Random Thoughts Thread
I think he retro-fitted it to light up for display, and doesn't operate it. - - - - - Two Olds', arguing.- Phones
Still hoping to get an upgrade in this year... but as past history shows, I'm a content tech dinosaur.- Random Thoughts Thread
