'58-59 Curtiss Wright 2500 Air Car. Yep- a hovercraft. C-W tried to market it to the military, but while it proved its potential on level surfaces, it floundered on mildly rough terrain & the Army declined. They then angled toward civilian usage, but there's really just no way to operate it on the road. It's a 19-foot long 3-seater that makes semi-precise, wobbly turns amid a mild cyclone of noise & dust. C-W floated the idea of a small passenger version called the "Bee", but it never saw 3-D status. So only 2 prototypes were built (both survive). Late last year the red Air Car above was asking $99K.

Who cares? It's a false target, a sound byte for the media. I hope to hell it doesn't come to pass.

Cadillac, despite what Johan stated, is not going to actively gun for 500K sales. It's nonsense. But (vs. some other luxury brands that want to 'be everything to everybody') General Motors did sell 9.8 million vehicles in 2015.

Glorious victory: How the Camaro takes it to Bavaria's finest
balthazar replied to Suaviloquent's topic in Chevrolet
BMW styling is beyond tired. Same thing, minority tweaked, over & over & over & over again. Bo Ring. -
I'm sure they'll take a look at the mercedes tractor trailers & other trucks, too; not to worry.

Only thing I would say RE the Camaro is it could be an inch to 1.5-in lower. I'm a big block guy, but man! that SB sounds awesome! -
It's in Jersey, and for sale!

Right, and it's ALSO the only reason 325,000 deposits have been collected for the Model 3, about which there's no definitive information about on-sale date, final design, final interior, equipment list or final pricing. It's getting pre-orders & buzz because of the ONE known factor; it's electric.

Haven't tackled the dizzy yet. List never seems to get shorter. • Have working (rear only) turn signals! Might be worth while in today's frantic road traffic. Have new 6V bulbs & a new flasher, plus re-wired the signal unit. I really should drive this around during rush hour, make everyone's blood boil. • Busted one tail light lens (glass)- will have to pick up another off FleaBay. • Worked on the 2-spd rear shifting: disassembled & lubed some bits, made sure the rear was in the higher (numerically lower) gear range. As a reminder, the rear has 5.83 & 8.11 gear ratios. The linkage under the cab is fairly loose- will mess with it farther down the road. Pic of Eaton rear : - - - - - Major items still on the list: • distributor • re-assemble one rear brake/bearings • bleed brakes • weld minor front crossmember in so grille/hood can latch down • bundle wires • reinstall radiator/hoses • start it.

^ Well, unless your 'potty breaks' are done in full view of your co-workers (in & of itself; NSFW), U should be fairly free to look at whatever level of NSFW sites you wish, right? I just found the so-dubbed pic on the last page rather tame… but I don't work in the politically correct corporate office world anymore.

Unless U R a webmaster for C&G, you shouldn't be on C&G during work, right?

I used to only use crushed ice. Then, encouraged by a friend, I switched to cubed ice (actually: half moons as they come out of my ice maker). Now, after @ least 1.5 years, I'm back to crushed ice. Gee, the world is a funny place.

The last time I looked into displacement taxes --and a global rundown is tough to find in one place-- it's not all that oppressive. A number of countries have moved away from displacement taxes, and in others it's a minor factor. IMO, the reason for building a 360 HP 2.0L vs. a 340 HP 3.0 (or whatever the displacement there is) has much to do with production costs rather than displacement taxes in a handful of markets.

Incorrect : the phaseout of the rebate goes by the calendar, not sales volume. It also goes by manufacturer, not model. Tesla is going to surpass the 200K unit mark before the Model 3 goes into production. IMO, a few Model 3 owners will see $1875 in a rebate, but zero will see $7500. I wonder how many depositors were counting on that full $7500 in their budgeting.

I re-direct you to : 1. announced intro date for the Model X. 2. production rate of Model X. 3. announced intro date for the Model 3. No; Tesla has not missed it yet (since it isn't Q4 2017 yet), but something about the unfinished nature of the Model 3 prototype against the backdrop of the Model X scenario. And when Tesla misses a date, it's not by weeks or months.

It's NOT a bad thing……. unless you aren't able to deliver. Then the groan of discontent is all the louder. Model 3 people may or may not care about the Bolt, just as Bolt people may or may not care for the Model 3.

WHat mercedes should look into is cracking down on un-licensed sellers of 'AMG' labels, which I've seen on a BMW or 2 to date.

Be curious to see if Tesla issues (certified) numbers of folk retracting their deposits when 3 and 4 years go by and 'No car for you!!'
