Alfa Romeo Begins Their $6 Billion Plan :Comments
Cmicasa the Great replied to William Maley's topic in Alfa Romeo
I get all that Drew.. but my only question is why not simply have Maserati pull this duty over bringing back Alfa? It historically has been a $h!ty brand here in the U.S. Kicked out of our market a coupla times in the past.- 6 replies

Revealed: 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia :Comments
Cmicasa the Great replied to William Maley's topic in Alfa Romeo
Ugly. Almost reminds me of a 3 series, slightly larger, with an Alfa grille on the front. The engine power etc is impressive tho, but so are all Ferrari/Maserati engines IMO. The only thing I would question is whether that is a good idea taking the engine from those two.. being that typically they are some of the most maintenance needy engines on the market.- 22 replies

granted.. but THIS is now seriously asking for the 2.0L T Too bad Chevy doesn't have the balls to make it.. Yeah.. but they have the BALLS to make a Camaro RS, SS, Z28, ZL1 and a Corvette and Z06.. an SS.. yeah.. I would take that over what your boys at Ford shovel us any day of the weak.. Well Ford competes with the Camaro(GT/350/350R)..obviously no Corvette competition but they do have a legitimate supercar that Chevy does not have.. Ford offers performance across waaaaay more platforms. Nothing against any of those Chevys. Those three are great in their respective classes and the Corvette fights well out of its weight class. And the SS..I feel is just underrated.. I said it somewhere else yesterday but I wish more were selling so I could pick one up used in a few years for a good price because it is an awesome car. It just depends what market for a car you're in. Ford offers performance variants down to their Fiesta ST and up the the GT and a lot in the middle. To each their own because I would take Ford's lineup of performance cars over Chevy's line of performance cars. Also, isn't the Camaro RS just like an aesthetic package..? Are we comparing Ford vs Chevy.. or Ford vs GM??? Certainly since Ford is only REALLY Ford.. with nothing else.. it should by the numbers have more performance oriented Variants than Chevy which also has Buick and Caddy to share in the performance. What does Ford have right NOW??? Mustang... Focus ST ...Fiesta ST... Taurus SHO.. Raptor??? That's really all they have GM has ATS-V, CTS-V.. CTS-VSport.. XTS-VSport.. Vette,.. SS... Camaro... Regal GS.. Verano Turbo... Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit the who Cadillac ATS and CTS line-up is more performance oriented than most of Ford.. 2.5L ATS included..- 64 replies

All I can say is this should seriously expand Cadillac sales in a positive direction. If I owned a current SRX I would be waiting with salivation right now.. If I owned any of those ugly ass foreign competitors I'd be planning a trip to Carmax right now to unload that $h!.. buy a bus pass for a few months and get an XT5 when it arrived. Gorgeous.. and more upscale than the Q5 or ML (or whatever its called) reminds me of an Escalade and ELR merged

Not going to happen. New engine family only goes up to 1.5L because of the european displacement tax. Same reason Ford switched to the 1.5T in the Fusion after debuting with a 1.6T. Sonic SHOULD be getting an SS. It's about time GM got back into the sport compact game. The Sonic is BEGGING for it, and the RS was just a tease without more power. granted.. but THIS is now seriously asking for the 2.0L T Too bad Chevy doesn't have the balls to make it.. GM readies wireless downloads of new features

Hmmm that sounds damn interesting. I think that for the time being.. it could be utilized to save on the number of Recalls issued for quick fix computer problems. OTA updates.. in the same manner as MS does with Windows or Google does with Android from time to time. -

Malibu just got a bump up in size as well.. If anything the one that would be feeling the squeeze would be the Impala, and even that is removed enough to feel safe until the next gen is upon us.. possibly in RWD form this time- 64 replies

Because the CT8 is still a phantom that doesn't exist yet, and will probably arrive with a torqueless V6. That makes zero sense in relation to them spending so much time talking about unrelated trucks. You also know nothing about the powertrains for the CT8 but given that most of the competition also have torqueless motors, it makes your post even more irrelevant and trolling in nature. The CT8's main competitor has 516 lb-ft of torque from 2,000 rpm in base model. Cadillac loves turbo fours for some odd reason, and their V6 makes like 273 lb-ft at 5,000 rpm. I hope the CT6's weak motors aren't in the CT8. Maybe they'll make the 400 hp twin turbo V6 the base engine in the CT8. I'd make that the base engine in the CT6 if it were up to me, and get some twin turbo V8s in both those cars. And both should have some sort of plug-in hybrid, even if only to sell in California to appease the bizzaro emission credit regulations there. Currently Cadillac has ONE turbo 4.. It does have 3 Turbo 6s, a NA V6, a NA V8, and a S/C V8 2.0LT 272hp/ 295lbs-ft or 335HP/ and 432 ft-lbs of torque 3.6L 335hp/284lbs-ft TT3.0L 400hp/400lbs-ft TT3.6L 420hp/430lbs-ft TT3.6L 464hp/444lbs-ft 6.2L 420hp/460lbs-ft 6.2LS/C 640hp/630lbs-ft

Because the CT8 is still a phantom that doesn't exist yet, and will probably arrive with a torqueless V6. and U are an ... I digress.. (HIGH ROAD Cmi) U are simply NOT paying attention. The CT8 will exist because the CT8 (DT7) was always meant to be. The XTS (CT6) was a fluke... a product of the BK.. always a stop-gap... until it became a hit, and became necessary. Cadillac has certainly voiced that the CT6 is a drivers's car, but I think people are misconstruing what that means. I think when people hear "driver's car" they think of the E46 3Series and its fun but jarring ride. I submit that the CT6 is an adjustable driver's car .. one that will be BOTH a cruiser and a fun car. This generation of MRC, not to mention the car being a whopping 204inches long, demands its duality. I mean how idiotic are we to believe that, weight aside, it will be as much of a "rough rider" as a car that once weight as little as it? Active dampers, Magnetic Ride Control working in cohesion with active rear steering??? The CT6 is a Prince. The CT8 will be King

Go Lutz Yourself: what luxury means in the modern era
Cmicasa the Great replied to a topic in Industry News
I read the article and I couldn't seem to find where Bobby said anything like that. what he said.. and I quote: "The car doesn't have to win every high-performance comparison test. It just has to be so compelling that it forces people to consider the brand. That's where the new Lincoln Continental concept succeeds." As many have pointed out, he is speaking about a concept.. a CONCEPT, which has a duty, and responsibility to peak interest. That's its job. The XTS is, by Lutz's definition, confusing as it may be, the epitome of luxury then, even if it is FWD based. Hell.. the Lacrosse GL Concept from 2011 is as well. Back to the XTS... as that is what the Continental seems to want to be. Might I remind people that the XTS has been continuously denounced as a flagship despite it being Awd, as large, as luxurious as the German large luxo cars -
This is not a GM site. And yes there is competition from GM... this is one of the best sellers in the segment. cadi_srx_int_co_lthr_big_04.jpg Wait, I thought Lincoln "competes with Buick" It does. And after looking at the pic U posted I am completely oblivious as why U seem to think that this interior is anything special. No pizzazz what so ever. That same center stack that has been a staple of Lincoln since the MKS debuted looks like a substitute for a chalkboard. Personally I think that not only is the interior of the Enclave better and more upscale looking, but it is PATHETIC that U have nothing else but that boring ass $h! to put up against what is essentially a 9 year old interior from the OLD GM.

He does have a point. You have really spin up the rpm in the 3.6 in the lambdas to get to that torque. That hurts fuel economy and makes them feel a little sluggish. That's more to do with the throttle calibration than the actual torque. This applies to a bunch of GM vehicles. Soon as the throttle is adjusted by a matter of 10%... the issue of needing to up the RPMs seems to diminish

Very impressive. Nice bump in power/torque for a lighter car in the 1.4L. 153 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque in the 1.4L vs 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque in the 1.5L. I think I understand the logic in this..Smaller engine, even by a little bit yielding just 7 hp and 7 lb-ft less torque is not a big deal. Looks??? I see a New Cruze with new Malibu and current Impala cues. Interior looks class above, maybe two. Technology is definitely above. Chevy just brought A-Game. These are the moments of truth. Cruze, Volt, Camaro...these are the first Chevy cars designed under the new GM- 64 replies

BMW News: Rumorpile: What's Upcoming For BMW's 7-Series Engine-Wise
Cmicasa the Great replied to William Maley's topic in BMW
I wish Mercedes Benz would cease to exist... just so certain parties wouldn't constantly have their lips planted so strongly around their schlong... Acceptable only if it is not a Cadillac. Hell.. I remember people were bitching when they put a 4cylinder in the Lacrosse. -
The Lambda triplets need a dose of torque, and a NA 3.6L is not adequate to make it an optional engine. Just curious.. when exactly are the Lambdas in need of torque??? With the old ass 3.6L and 288HP they seem to be quite good family haulers. I guess I was not clear, so in the context of the discussion of an I4 turbo as standard and the 3.6L as an option, it is not adequate, because the I4 already has far more torque. Crossover consumers, and probably most car buyers don't understand torque is what matters. All they know is horsepower because that is what manufacturers advertise. I hope to Christ that U are not suggesting that I don't kno the relevance of what torque is and what it is useful in and pertaining to a motor vehicle. The Lambdas have done well.. and move quite well with the 288HP and 270lbs of TORQUE pushing its 4700 lbs. NOW... if U are gonna go RACING your 4700 lb Large Crossover on a track... then I see your point
