  1. Where's my drumset? Oh, there it is *da dum crash* I've had my skin set to Chevy for a while, but I have it on SAAB now.
  2. No, because...well....we're not so sure he wouldn't.
  3. Hard to tell from the pics, but the inside looks pretty good on this one: http://pensacola.craigslist.org/car/275000634.html
  4. Wow, this car is really clean, an excellent starting point for you. How's the body as far as dents and scratches go? The paint honestly looks really good for a desert car with no factory clearcoat. And it runs!!!! Except for the dash and the seat, the interior looks like it'll clean up pretty nicely. Buy lots of those cans of interior cleaner - the ones with the britsles on the cap. It looks like the owner worked on the car, then jumped right in it and drove it without washing his hands. That should come out with lots of elbow grease, though. Is that a spray-on bedliner? I'm having trouble telling. If it's a regular bedliner, get rid of that ASAP and go with a spray-on. The last thing you need is moisture collecting in that area. Looks like you have 3 out of 4 Rally wheels, but no center caps (available everywhere for cheap). Defintely go with the parts-car wheels, they will look cool with that color scheme.

    Drugs?

How about free tap water that's healthier for you than both of those?
  6. The key to keeping Pontiac relevant in the marketplace is to plan each model to fit properly into the B-P-G channel without any overlap. There are people out there that, for whatever reason, will not be caught dead in a Chevy (balthy, I'm looking right at you), so cutting away Pontiac (or Buick, or GMC) will lose more customers. A G8 fits in fine with GMNA provided there isn't a SWB Zeta sedan with the same engine options planned for Buick or GMC. I would say that, assuming the Lucerne goes RWD for the next generation, that it rides on a longer wheelbase than the G8 and has a Northstar/Ultra V8, both of which would set it apart from the G8 enough to prevent overlap.

    Snow!

We got less than an inch, but everything is covered in ice.
  8. Sixty8 ===> ------------ Ours is going to be pretty static, with the exception of my dad looking to replace the '97 Skylark with something newer and more "him" (he inherited that car from my grandfather).
  9. El Camino, European style
  10. The new, bigger Malibu will probably be pushed as the sales queen once the current Impy runs its course.
  11. Could be a bad connection caused by a partially or completely broken wire. Pop off the cover where the blower motor is and have a look at things.
  12. I don't find this attractive at all. It can't decide if it wants to be sleek or muscular, knife-edged or curvaceous. I'm sure the powertrain makes up for a lot of sins, though.
  13. There hasn't been an announcement, but if you read between the lines it's the only realistic option for the Lucerne. No new large car FWD platforms are known to be in existence. Chi, which I believe was a car-based Lambda, is dead as far as we know.
  14. perfect That makes sense, but what about if/when the Camaro gets the go-ahead to be sold in Australia? I think it would make sense to have at least those Camaros made in Australia. And instead of making Camaros earmarked for Australia, Oshawa could take on some G8 or Ute* production to keep the lines going. I guess what I'm getting at is that I see a scenario where models continuously rotate between GMNA and Holden to satisfy the demands of each local market and maximize the profit on each car sold. Don't forget the other export markets either. It may or may not be cheaper to export a Holden to the Middle East or Europe that's made in Oshawa than one made in Australia.
  15. Zeta is dead. There are no plans for a Camaro. There are no plans for a Zeta Pontiac. --- How about adding something constructive to the thread instead of snide comments? I'll gladly stand up for hyper. When it comes to the RWD/Zeta/Holden stuff, he has been right on the money every time. Besides, don't you think GM would be foolish not to at least set themselves up to produce the G8 in either plant, unless we're not giving inefficiency enough credit as a business strategy?
  16. Ideally, Australia and Oshawa could be set up to build any Zeta vehicle for any market. This probably won't be possible until both Holden and GMNA are using the same Zeta, which won't happen till the next generation Commodore. Once this happens, GM could shift production to either plant to accommodate demand or capacity needs. For example, say the Camaro sells like hotcakes and you can't squeeze one more car out of Oshawa. Some production could spill over to Australia.
  17. This is the kind of beauty that's most attractive to me. Very nice features (especially her smile and eyes), but not overly voluptuous, provocatively dressed, or made up like a supermodel or porn star.
  18. Any Van Halen song from the first six albums is great for cruising, especially with the windows down in the summer.
  19. Well, if it's in good shape, you could always dye it the right color.

    HOW RUDE!

No, I was serious. You played that like a pro. The Toyota dealer near me just got a new red Tundra in. It's a pig.

    HOW RUDE!

    Nice. Very nice, Bill.
  22. You can never have too many 73-77 El Caminos - http://reno.craigslist.org/car/272110034.html
  23. You got it. Check this thread out. For that dash, it looks like you might have to either go with for a dash cap, or have yours done over (check that www.justdashes.com link - it can be done). A good dash will probably cost a lot on eBay. Anything else you need besides the dash?
  24. I had wanted to do this at my job but it never materialized. After I was transferred into my current group I was ready to set up a server farm for our department and give them names like IMPALA, CHEVELLE, MONTECARALO, BELAIR, etc. (I had carried along with me a Linux server called CORVETTE). I was shot down by someone else in the group who wanted to give the machines a name that described their function (i.e. WEB, PRINT, FILE, etc.). I had said that wasnt''a good idea because, well, a hacker coming across a machine with a name like that a) already has an idea of what content is on the machine and b) already knows how to hack it. Other people in the group agreed, but this other person threw a hissy fit and walked out of the room.
  25. I'll be letting my money reflect my opinion once I'm ready. Assuming the Ute doesn't make it here, the G8 will be the one for me. How is that for honesty?
