  1. As always, your writing is in fine form. Great job, Lou. I'm going to sidestep the ensuing war over the G8 (my feelings on the car are ell documented), but I will say that if the Solstice and the G8 will be the flagbearers for the new, slate-wiped-clean Pontiac, they might just be OK. It's a shame that in between the Solstice and G8, we have had to tolerate the G5 and Torrent. Nothing like a couple of rebadged Chevies to kill your momentum - now before anyone begins the "but the G8 is a rebadge" counterargument, take into account that it's built half a world away and the average consumer might not know or care.
  2. That front bumper looks like part of an aftermarket body kit. I'm with those that prefer the '07.
  3. This one's for you, Croc, because I know you have this CD: I don't mind spending some time Just hanging here with you 'Cause I don't find too many guys That treat me like you do. Those other guys all wanna take me for a ride But when I walk they talk of suicide Some people never get beyond their stupid pride But you can see the real me inside And I'm satisfied, oh no, ohh Even though the gods are crazy Even though the stars are blind If you show me real love baby I'll show you mine I can make it nice and naughty Be the devil and angel too Got a heart and soul and body Let's see what this love can do Maybe I'm perfect for you
  4. Like them or not, the last Montes were solid, reliable, well-built cars that did their job well. The Monte Carlo name was its biggest downfall, as it tried too hard to look like past Montes, but had to succumb to FWD W-body proportions. If two RWD Chevy coupes are too much, I like the idea of spawning a "large" coupe based off the new Malibu. It would fill the void created by the MC, and allow Chevy to add them to Malibu sales the same way that Honda, Toyota, and now Nissan do with their respective coupes.
  5. Sorry, Sixty, but I have to agree with the masses here. This is in bad taste. It is fine to disagree with someone's faith, but it is another thing to mock it. This is like slaughtering a cow in front of a Hindu or burning a cross in front of a Christian. Freedom of religion is a right given to every American citizen, so they can worship whoever they want without fear. Furthermore, most religions ultimately preach love for your neighbor, even your enemy. Just let them build the mosque and let God sort it all out when we die.
  6. If cars could talk, what do you think those two would be saying to each other? No, I'm not drunk or stoned
  7. I think you'd probably have to unmount the tires from the rims to find anything if it's not on the back. Don't bother, just sit back and enjoy how cool they look
  8. My best guess is mid-80s Firebird GTA: They do look great all polished up, and they go well with the color scheme. I'm not sure what you can do about the center caps though...maybe one from a 80s Monte or S10 with the bowtie on it would fit.
  9. Taking the sidebars away in the forums was an experiment that I hoped would alleviate the problems with the ISP. It hasn't, so I see no reason not to have them back. Your wish is granted As for the forum drop-down menu, while it sounds like a nice idea, I'm not sure it's a feature of IPB. I know cobaltss.net uses VBulletin. I'll be looking into it though.
  10. Those LT1s will last a very long time. Last year my father tore down an LT1 from a '94 Caprice cop car for use in his Bel Air project. The cylinder walls looked brand new, showing no signs of wear at 140K miles. With regular TLC that I'm sure it'll get from you, Roger, the thing's practically in its infancy. For $4K it's a stretch, but let him twist in the wind for a while and see if he comes down. caddycruiser, I agree. For the best condition Caddies (especially of this vintage), on that's been pampered by an elderly couple is a pretty solid bet. Check eBay for some Florida Caddies.
  11. He might mean after the new CTS runs its course. Assuming the same 5 model year cycle as the current CTS, the new car would run until '13. By then, both Holden and GMNA will be using the same version of Zeta (they aren't right now). Once that happens, it makes a lot of sense to phase out Sigma for Zeta, since it's cheaper and, according to some, has superior dynamics.
  12. i30...wasn't that a Maxima that was rebadged as an Infiniti at one point?
  13. Looking good. Love the lack of rust in the pillars. My fiberglass-bodied Corvette has more rust than this car. Wow, that dash is a basket-case! If you're interested, there's this place on Hicksville (LI), NY that's supposedly a premier interior restoration outfit. I'm sure they can do wonders for you: AutoMat
  14. Stick a fork in it - it's done: clicky I'm sure it's pretty obvious to anyone that follows the band that Eddie's been the catalyst of all the chaos surrounding the band, what with all the heavy drinking, smoking (despite overcoming tongue cancer), and meth. I only hope that he's finally getting the help he needs. Forget the music at this point.
  15. You might want to check your closet for a girl scout uniform with your name on the chest. You never know what might have happened while you were trippin'.

    Uggg...

You hitting the ball period already means you're better than me. I hate golf, except mini-golf.
  17. Mmmmmm...... Happy Birthday, KC.
  18. Alero Intrigue Impala Monte Carlo Grand Prix Regal Century GA Malibu Focus Cavalier (interior is junk, but they'll run forever) Cobalt (probably pushing it a bit here, but you might find actually find a high-mileage stripper '05 Cobalt in your price range)
  19. Brand new black-on-black extended cab Silverado in the parking lot.
  20. You have no idea how much you suck.
  21. That's the thing that gets me the most. They're not getting into the HOF individually, they're getting in together, as the band Van Halen. Each one needs to realize that, without the other three guys, they have nothing. Sammy probably gets in on his own, since he had a pretty long solo career anyway, but his most famous work is with VH. But for the other guys, VH is all they have. Hey NDL, is that you I see posting on VHLinks about accepting another round of Gary Cherone? Not saying that I don't agree with you, but you're fighting an uphill battle over there. They want what they want, and that's all what they want
  22. Ice sucks. As my defensive driving instructor said, it doesn't matter how many drive wheels you have when ice is involved. You can either have your front wheels slip, your back whee;s slip, or all of them slip. Sorry about the scratch, Satty. If you want to ghetto-fix it, get a matching bottle of touch-up from Ford, fill in the areas with paint, building it up with each coat. Then, wetsand and compound it yourself. Cost to you, <$20.
  23. Better scoop these up while you can, fellas. 50 years from now we'll be seeing someone at a Barrett-Jackson auction pay millions for one
  24. from melodicrock.com This is ridiculous - they can't just go into the studio together and jam. Everything has to involve lawyers, contracts, and paperwork. They're a joke that's been running for 11 years....remember when they used to be such a tight, yet carefree party band (with both Dave and Sammy)? You have to feel sorry for their fans, they've been teased way too many times.
  25. Yeah, the rebadging is pretty shameless overseas. It's either that, or try selling it as a Pontiac, which has no global presence at all. If you think that's bad....
