  1. Corn based ethanol is the wrong way to get it. Switch grass, Sugar Cane, and Sugar beets would be the more efficient crops to get it from. Speaking of alternative fuels. I will attempt to make my first batch of Bio-diesel this weekend
  2. Thats what I got now. The 91 was the 2.8 with the 5 spd. Not by any means fast or sporty, but damnit, I had fun in that truck That truck was pretty nice for what it was. Tahoe interior package. I purposely bought the truck with the 5 spd in it used from a local detective. Apparently his son didnt want to pull his weight around the house so his dad sold the truck. Poor bastard missed out on a great vehicle but I didnt
  3. This is what I found on the Wiki: That they quit making them. I dont care what anyone says about em, I'm on my second S-10 and both were/are great vehicles. My 91 Outlasted several of my friends Rangers, Nissans, and Toyotas trucks they had that were about the same age. I still see my old 91 running around town every now and then. My 03 Xtreme has been solid so far and I love my truck. I've always had good luck with S-10's and I worked my 91 hard on the farm and I use my 03 now a ton here at work too, althought not has hard of work as the 91 saw.
  4. Depends. Is the plane crashing? Thats about the only way I can see myself jumping out of one willingly with a chute strapped to my back
  5. There was a guy on one of the S10 Forums that did a dually conversion on his second gen. Wish I could find the picture of it. Was pretty cool looking. He got the fenders from a stepside Dime and grafted them on to a fleet side and did the rear end work himself to make it a dually.
  6. That looks sweet!!! Made a good looking car look even better
  7. A good buddy of mine though that is a GM Tech told me to change it around 50 to 75K miles. Reason being if for some reason your forgot to keep the fluid level at the proper level or air got into the cooling system, it could cause the DexCool to sludge. He said however changing it at 50k to 75k was the safest thign to do with it.
  8. Exactly. I've always replaced coolant at 50k myself. Green or Dex Cool. When I changed my Dexcool in my 03 S-10 at 50k, it was still pretty and red with no signs of any problems. I changed it anyways. My truck is now at 104k and going up daily. I checked the coolant the other day and it looks fine. If more people would read their owners manual and just learn the basics, I reckon about 90 percent of the Dex Cool problems wouldnt happen.
  9. There is a place where I hunt near my home that I always find interesting pieces of yesteryear. Old Mason jars, old washpans, dishes, glasses, steel plates, bed springs, window frames from the old houses, etc. There are also about 8 sisterns out there that I've marked so no one falls in them. Basically, back in the late 1800's thru the 1940's there was a small highway that ran thru the woods and crossed over a man made canal. You can still see the remnants of the bridge in the canal as all that is left is the legs of it. There were several old houses from the old town of Gold Dust in the woods, and there are all sorts of relics left behind from them. The area is all solid woods now, and you can't really tell there was a small town in there unless you are from the area, and know the history.
  10. If I had the money: LS2 6 Speed stick to replace my 5 speed 17 Inch Torque Thrust II's with the Dark Spokes 2003 Corvette Le Mans Mettallic Blue Paint. White SS stripes with a hugger orange pinstripe outline Katzkin Leather door and seat treatment with black inserts on the seats. Some kinda coil over setup with a 9 inch rear end to replace the leaf spring setup out back. Yes my Xtreme would be bitchin then
  11. Mexico needs to STFU. We can patrol our borders on our side as we damned please. Maybe Mexico needs to be punished over the numerous military incursions they have made over the last 20 yeas with its military to support drug running and illegal immigrants jumping the border. On our side of the border, we should do everthing possible to secure our nation. I'm all for a long, tall, smooth concrete wall that is also deep into the ground that is patrolled constantly by U.S. Military. Maybe we should also dredge the Rio Grande and make it a real river instead of the glorifed ditch it is to make it harder to cross it.
  12. Catherine Bell! One of the sexiest out there but never gets a mention.
  13. Lets see... Scarlett Johannson Jessica Alba Jessica Biel Christina Augilera Cristina Scabbia That's just to name a few
  14. None. I never found the want or need to try any. Plus I was fortunate that where I live there are not a lot of problems or places with drugs. I think it also helped that I was constantly busy either with school or working for my father.
  15. I saw a G6 Coupe in person for the first time yesterday... WOW is all I have to say. It was black, and looked fast just sitting there. I love the car. As I've said in the past, it's the only FWD car I actually desire to own.
  16. Here's my linkage: http://www.myspace.com/arkavian
  17. I have a mixture of Choctow Indian, German, French, and wee bit of English in my orgins. My great grandmother on my fathers side really showed her Choctow heritage a lot. I really show the German part of my heritage as I have the stereo typical German nose and I like everything in order lol. In other words, I'm 100 percent American Cajun
  18. Here is another interesting article on E85. Note how an oil exec tries to strong arm the guy in the story: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12676374/ The key to keeping Ethanol as a vialble alternative is to keep big oil out of it. It has already started. Big Oil is trying to smother or take control already.

The Superduty however for a long time has had that look. Its lately that a lot of other trucks have been trying to copy it. Low fender lines with a big tall hood. Ala small 18 wheeler look as I've always thought of it. The Nissan Titan so far is the most ridiculous looking of the fullsizes so far. Its the got a rear end that trys to look Dodge and a front end that looks like it tried to blend the Ford, Chevy, and Dodge front end all into one mold. At least, thats how I see it.
  20. I just hope the new blue thats on the Cobalts or Corvette's is available for the Camaro. White stripes on blue would rock.
  21. GM's 2.8V6 I had one and it lasted FOREVER GM's 350 SB GM's 4.3 V6 Duramax engines Ford 351 Cleveland block engines Ford 351 Windsor block engines Cummin's diesel engines John Deere diesel motors. I dont know who makes them but my father has had a lot of John Deere's and we have worked the hell out of them on the farm. You are more likely to destroy the pto shaft or split the tractor in half before something happens to the engine.
  22. 03 S-10: 102 thousand miles on it. Put about 700 on it already this week for work.
  23. Odds are the foreign made automakers have passed money under the table to select politicians to get those lucrative "deals". It is about the only way I can explain it. That and some places are so desperate for jobs, they are willing to bend to the will of a corporations demands in order to get that job rate filled up. Kinda reminds me of how Walmart operates, well at least around here. They refuse to build a store anywhere around here unless the local and state government grants them a 20 year tax break. Then, when the store is older than 20 years they tear it down and build a "Super Walmart" claiming it is a different type store and they want another 20 years of tax breaks. Which goes to show you, this is what is exactly wrong with our government on levels today. They bend to big business and screw the little man. Ok, I got off of topic there a little bit
